* Single cards from this set available HERE: www.etsy.com/listing/1707089684 - 5.5" X 4.25" folded cards - 111# cardstock (watermark will not be visible on actual product) - A2 white envelopes - Blank inside, for you to pen your own sentiment The textless Drolatic Dreams of Pantagruel (published in 1565 & attributed to Francois Rabelais) is a collection of strange, peculiar & somewhat baffling images of creatures that, at first glance, seem to have leapt onto the book's pages out of the fever dreams of a Medieval madman. A closer look reveals them to be thinly veiled sociopolitical satire - an outlet to poke fun of the powerful in caricature (perhaps foreshadowing today's social media). We bring to you our modified reproductions of Pantagruel's fantastical imagery found in the public domain. Our Pantagruel collection celebrates this wonderfully bizarre & occasionally bawdy Rabelaisian commentary on 16th century influencers (who were apparently found to be just as tiresome as today). Find other Pantagruel items HERE: www.etsy.com/shop/BinghamandBloom?ref=seller-platform-mcnav§ion_id=48726834 We will be adding many more images in the near future - check back often! * PLEASE NOTE * Cards are printed to order, & will ship separately from other items included in the same order. Turnaround time for cards is generally 10 - 14 business days. Slight delays are possible, but we’re working our hardest to get your orders to you on time. Sorry, no rush production or expedited shipping options are available for printed to order items. Please take this into consideration if your order is needed within a certain timeframe. Our items are printed on demand especially for you as soon as your order is placed - which is why our turnaround time may be a few more days than you’ve come to expect from certain mega-companies (like the one that starts with an A). Printing products on demand instead of in bulk quantities helps to reduce overproduction & wasted resources. Thank you for making thoughtful purchasing decisions (& supporting small businesses)!
Highlights from a book of 120 woodcuts depicting a series of fantastically bizarre and grotesque figures, reminiscent of some of the more inventive and twisted creations of Brueghel or Bosch.
