I saw this dress online the other day and I liked the pattern, so I thought that I’d try to recreate it with the Dress Up Framelits Dies from Stampin’ Up! I decided to change the color …
Well, the Dress Up Framelit series will continue! I can't stop creating mini designer dresses. This project uses the Twitterpated DSP for the dress, a different pattern for the background layer and Riding Hood Red card stock for the jacket. To make the jacket, cut 2 pieces/copies of the dress, in a color that coordinates with the base. The picture below shows how I positioned the Apothecary Art Framelit to produce the the jacket front. "Trim" 2 jacket fronts with the Apothecary Art framelit positioned as shown (reverse framelit position for the right jacket side). Glue them together and use the Adorning Accents Border Edgelit to trim the bottom. Adhere the jacket to the dress, accent with Rhinestone buttons and your dress is complete. The sentiment is from Ciao Baby, punched out with the SAB Petite Curly Label Punch. the Marina Mist card base was embossed with the Framed Tulips Folder and the card was assembled. Oops, where did that 3rd dress post go? Well, I'm sharing it finally today. The jacket is made with the same Dress Up framelit die as the dress. I simply cut off the dress at hip length & then cut a little triangle from the bottom to top to create an open jacket effect. Some tiny pearls add some sweet bling. The dress is popped off the card & hangs from a line with a cute little hanger shaped paper clip (Hung Up Cute Clips). The sentiment is a favourite from Create a Cupcake, & it fits perfectly in the decorative label punch too. I really liked how this one turned out & can see many more dress ensembles in my future. Do you remember when you were in elementary school and you’d get all those new supplies at the beginning of the year? I always loved opening the packages and labeling things. Putting the pencils in a new case, covering books etc. Well I never grew out of that. An order was due yesterday and starting at about 4:00, I was watching the driveway for the UPS truck. You know how they say a watched pot never boils? Yeah, well a watched driveway doesn’t produce the UPS truck either! He finally came at 6:30 and I ran into my studio and ripped open that box like a crazy woman. I opened all the packages, fondled my new toys and just loved them up. Then I simply had to organize, label and put everything away. I swear it’s a compulsion. Every time I get new toys, I MUST go through this process ASAP. You know the weirdest thing about it? I LOVE IT! Seriously, I had the most fun making new folders to add to my box of embossing folders and Framelits. Putting the stamp sets together and alphabetizing them on my stamp rack. Of course I delighted in labeling new folders for the dsp, punching out dots of cardstock in the appropriate color for the tops of reinker bottles and using the label maker to label the sides of my embellishment containers. I adore my label maker. I guess my Mom would not be a bit surprised at my compulsion to organize things. She was the book keeper for Daddy's business and used to give me old forms and blank deposit slips to play with when I was little. I had an office set up in my room. I had a desk full of supplies just like she did. Even in my teens I was bit ocd. Mom said I was the only teenager who actually kept a clean room. Her friends were always jealous cause she never had to fuss to get me to clean my room, and my closet was an organized work of art. Yeah, I know, I'm kind of a dork. Okay, my big brother would say a BIG DORK! But ya know what? I'm happy like this. This purse is the cutest card holder! I got the directions from Chiaki Haverstick. I used a Labels Framelit for the top section of the purse, because I didn't have the die that Chiaki used. I simply adore this card set holder and I plan to make several more. These are the two newest Designer Series Paper. I made these display boards to show all the products that coordinate with these pretty papers. Of course, I don't have all those ribbons and buttons.... yet! lol

All supplies are Stampin' Up! I saw this idea to use the Carry On sentiment with the Scentsational Season gingerbread man together on SCS, a very cute card made by Sarabeth46. Retired holiday paper, cardstocks of Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler, and Real Red. Cherry taffeta ribbon and mini silver brads to embellish.
I didn't get to play or do anything crafty at all last week but I made it up this weekend! I knew I wanted to play with the Dress Up Framelits so that’s where I started. Once again, I’m using the First Edition Specialty Designer Series Paper. I love this paper and I can't stop using it. I die cut two dress forms – one using First Edition DSP and the other one using vanilla cardstock. I pasted the die cuts together to make the dress form sturdier. I stamped the flowers and leaves from the You Are Loved stamp set using regal rose and old olive inks. I sponged soft suede ink all over the form and added the double bow accent. The base card is crumb cake. The large panel, also in crumb cake, was dry embossed using Square Lattice Embossing Folder and sponged with soft suede ink all around. The garden green panel was distressed with a distressing tool. The sentiment from the Create A Cupcake stamp set was stamped in soft suede. The lacy ribbons and button are part of the Artisan Embellishment kit. The butterfly was punched with Bitty Butterfly Punch. I’m quite happy with the results. This dress uses the sleeveless dress framelit from the Dress Up framelits and is topped with the other dress framelit top. It has to be cut at the waist or it won't match up on the skirt part. These are so much fun to play with! So many possibilities with all the designer series paper that Stampin'Up! has to offer.
Get ready for more of these, just as soon as the Brown Truck delivers my next package! This adorable card was made at Spring Fling a couple of weeks ago and was one of my favorite things there. I just love the Dress Up Framelits Dies and the Pop 'n Cuts Dies to go with it. I really didn't think I'd be so crazy about it, but the more I see the more I love it! Isn't this just the cutest little dress? Who do you think of when you see this polka-dot dress and apron? I know who or what I think of, "I Love Lucy!" It just seems like something you'd expect her to wear. Even though the shows were mostly black and white, I can totally see a cute orange polka dot dress on her! Thanks for looking in today.
