My card today features the Dragonfly Dreams bundle -but instead of the dragonfly, I used the bee! Freshly Made Sketches I am playing along with the Freshly Made Sketches challenge this week- haven’t done one of their great sketches for a long time – enjoyed doing it today! Hi everyone, I am so glad I got a few minutes left in today to blog and share a little cute card with you. I had to make some cards and quick today. Now whenever I am strapped for time which is let's face it, nearly every time I make a card, I tend to look for something cute to case and today was no different, only in that I cased myself !!!! I made this beauty while away last November to fabulous Cuba and while I loved it, I wasn't quite happy with the sentiment placement which was a result of a poorly positioned stamped elements, basically I didn't have room to add the sentiment between the stamped lace and stamped bee. So I thought I would re hash that card at home with all my supplies on hand and this is what the second lot turned out like. This time I added more layers behind the centre panel and popped the bees up onto some dimensionals. This gorgeous bee is from the stamp set Dragonfly Dreams If you are a long time visitor of my blog you will know that I have a sweet friend, Carol who helps me stamp when I have tons to make. Well recently she was laid in hospital with a nasty infection but wanted to do something with her time and was limited as to what she could do. I stamped and coloured quite a few bees and she kindly cut them all out for me... thanks Carol <3 p=""> I love the FREE Delicate Details stamp set and used it as a background you can just see it peeking out here... And of course the wings and lace got some glitter treatment, simply dab some glue on the pieces and sprinkle with some dazzling diamonds... love the bling I do !!!! I will bid you farewell now and go and make some tea for the builders, they are working hard and we are making progress. Last time I updated you there were no floors and no ceiling in there. Well, by Tuesday we had firm floors once again, all electrics and plumbing were in and ready.... then at the end of today we even have some ceiling IN. We had a couple of set backs, the new roof had a few leaks which have now been dealt with so by tomorrow we should have a full ceiling ready for the spotlights to be fitted. Exciting stuff but so time consuming, I didn't realise I would have so many decssions to make I thought all I had to do is organise my craft stuff *laughing hard* ready to move in there. Thank you for your visit, I will see you again on Friday with a Fun Fold Blog Hop. Till then much love xoxoxo Monica

I still had my Dragonfly stamp set sitting out on my desk when I went to design for this challenge. I thought the dots in three colors would make for an interesting background for this sketch. I have not used the bee as of yet, so I stamped him in black and then the next over in Crushed Curry. I hand snipped him out. I looked for a while at all my stamps for a sentiment I wanted to place here but when I saw the confetti reference in this sentiment from Jar Of Love, I thought it the dots really do look like confetti and decided to give it a go! Hope you can play along at freshlymadesketches.blogspot.com Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend! It was time for the Tic Tac Toe #06 Challenge, and I chose the bottom row across, because honey means bees, and the Dragonfly Dreams stamp set has my favorite bee. Plus, woodgrain means trees, and I

There is one stamp set in the Occasions catalog that I believe deserves a bit of tender loving care. Making simple cards is always my goal. This set is perfect! Is the beautiful Dragonfly Dream stamp set. This is really a simple card. I am all for simple cards. Cards that are beautiful, carry an encouraging message and are NOT time-consuming. Why? Because life is full. Life is busy. Everyone demands your attention. I understand. So why not try something simple today and let the beauty of the stamp do the work. Dragonfly Dreams does that. My inspiration for these cards actually came from another card I designed years ago. The post is here back in 2011, the stamp set was Kindness Matters (one of my retired faves). Whisper White card base (5 1/2" x 8 1/2" scored at 4 1/4") Top layer of a die cut mounted on dimensional adhesives Soft background image Darker image on top Simple embellishments Can you try this with what you have at home? All materials are below. I LOVE the simplicity but elegance of these. Hello there and welcome to another Fancy Friday Blog Hop! Our theme this month is "Mail it Monday". This was a challenge to create 2 ...
Happy Sunday! FINALLY! I have more-or-less recovered from the Canadian Business Conference I attended last weekend in Toronto! It was SUCH and amazing event. The only down side was I came back exhausted, head spinning from all the information and a family that needed a bit of TLC. Over the last week I managed to get the house back in order, the fridge full of healthy food (when the kids ask "can you buy some FRUIT??" you know things have slipped a little *lol*) a few "must do" items off my list and LOTS of sleep. Question: at what point does a "nap" qualify as a "sleep"? I'm thinking passing out for 2+ hours qualifies as more of a sleep than a nap … and that happened more than once this week. Thinking I MAY have been a little sleep deprived lately! ANYway ….. I digress … (part of my charm, right?) Sunday - the day when I'm up by 7:00 am and can get a few blog posts done whilst the "slug people" dream away until noon … Today I'm sharing all my Dragonfly Dream Swaps from the conference. I knew this set was a "keeper" when I first saw it in the catalogue. I love it more than I thought I would. It really is a fanTASTIC set for most occasions! Birthday, Sympathy, Thank You, Congratulations, Just Because … even masculine cards can be made with this baby. The set and the framelits can be purchased separately or bundled, saving you 10%. What's even BETTER is that the bundled price is $60.25 …. which qualifies you for a FREE Sale-a-bration item as well, if you buy it before March 31! Detailed Dragonfly Thinlit Dies - $41.00 Dragonfly Dreams Photopolymer Set $26.00 Dragonfly Dreams Bundle $60.25 I highly, highly, highly recommend this set. Get the bundle before May 31st. After that date one of two thing will happen. 1) It will be discontinued and you won't be able to get it (which I highly doubt - it's one I fully expect to be carried over to the next catalogue… but you never know!) or 2) it WILL be carried over to the next catalogue but the bundled price will no longer be offered. Bundled savings only apply when items first appear - after that they are only sold a-la-carte. So why wait?? Scoop it now, save 10% AND pick a free SAB item (before March 31). My next order goes in around Feb 14th. Canadian customers can email/message me your order before then … or order directly through my store here. If your order is less than $200 please apply Hostess Code ZVJDZKFA at the checkout and I will send you a gift in the mail! Right! Having said all THAT … let's get to checking out 10 fantastic samples made by top Canadian Demonstrators using it, shall we?? First up - the card made by little ol' me. It LOOKS complicated but it really was quick and easy to make! - Whisper White card base - 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" - Pool Party layer - 5" x 3 3/4" - Basic Black layer - 4 3/4" x 3 1/2" - Emboss the sentient and splotches in white embossing powder (I used the splotches from Swirly Bird) - Cut the largest dragonfly out of whisper white card stock and then, using a finger dauber (or sponge), add Bermuda Bay ink - Attach a small piece of Tear & Tape to the body of the dragonfly - wrap/loop Silver Thread around your fingers (three fingers, closed) four times to make a lasso of silver thread. - attach silver thread to Tear & Tape on the dragonfly - "seal" the three to the dragonfly with another piece of Tear & Tape - Attach the dragonfly to the black card layer (I just removed the top layer of the Tear & Tape so the wings are still loose) - Attach a White Perfect Accent - Pop up the Pool Party base on dimensionals DONE! Before sharing the other samples in the swap I wanted to show you the great little "Set Sampler" booklets we all got with our swaps. All the swaps I got for the Dragonfly Dreams set are in this adorable little booklet. Seriously - these are the "little things" that made the conference so great. So much time, thought and preparation went into everything. Wow. Awesome, no? Here are the swaps from the other demonstrators in my swap group … Made by Laurie LaRose ... Made by Barb Stewart Made by Elizabeth Green ... Made by Diane Inkster (my lovely roommate for the Conference) ... Made by Cheryl Cook ... Made by Mary Louise Hamill ... Made by Jo-Anne Rogers …. Made by Glenda Mollet ... Made by Winona Semler ... Aren't they fantastic?? If THOSE don't have you convinced to buy this bundle I don't know what will! Seriously. It's a must-have. Pop in again tomorrow. I'll be sharing swaps from another great, but often overlooked, set - "Remarkable You". Until then, thanks for popping in. Have a stampy Sunday! Tam

Hello peaches and happy Monday! I hope you were able to catch our Sure Do Love You Artisan Blog Hop. If you did, feel free to click on the link. This hop was packed full of amazing projects and ideas that you’re sure to love! With the blog hop and my Stampin’ Up! corporate post it has been a busy week and I’m now ready to start fresh with a new week and new inspiration. My card today actually came together because of some beautiful paper. Has that ever happened to you? You see some gorgeous paper and you think, “I have got to use that on a project!”, and then inspiration strikes! Now for some of us (totally guilty here), the next step is a battle as to whether we want to use that pretty paper or to hoard it, lol. Well, I’m happy to report that today I resisted the urge and used that gorgeous Desiner Series Paper (DSP) just as it was intended. You’ll see how the paper works perfectly in my card today. The DSP that I was inspired by is from the Sale-a-Bration Catalog. It’s called Bubbles & Fizz Designer Series Paper. It has some of the most playful and bright colors and images. It’s designed to go with the Bubble Over Set but as soon as I saw the beautiful bright yellow patterned piece, I saw honeycombs! I’ve included a picture of this DSP below. So that’s where the inspiration started and here’s how the rest of the card came together. I started by using the Dragonfly Dreams Stamp Set and Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits. Now even though this stunning set is packed full of delicate dragonflies, it also has some lovely bee images and coordinating dies, so of course I needed to use those sweet little honeybees with my honeycomb paper right?! So to start my card, I began with my typical white base cut from Thick Whisper White Cardstock. Then I cut the DSP at 4” x 5 1/4” for my first panel. I really wanted that to show in my background so my next layer was cut much smaller. To continue with my honeycomb theme, I embossed this layer with the Hexagons Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (try to say that 10 time’s fast, haha). I layered that onto a piece of Basic Black Cardstock cut at the same size and I distressed the edges with my Paper Snips. Then I adhered those two panels on top of my DSP panel. Next, I cut a circle out and inked a potion of it in Daffodil Delight Ink with my Sponge Dauber. I then took my Starburst Punch and punched out a circle from Silver Glimmer Paper. I also stamped the bee image in Basic Black Ink onto Daffodil Delight Cardstock. I die cut a bee from Basic Black Cardstock as well. I added some Black Sequin Trim and Silver Metallic Thread behind my circle layers and added my bees and sentiment on top. To finish off my card, I added some Metallic Enamel Shapes and that finished off my card for today. Thanks so much for stopping by and I’ll see you next post! Hi everyone, Here today to show you a special birthday card I made for my Father in Law who reaches the grand old age of 94 today. Happy Birthday Norman! For many years he kept several beehives and was known in the local area (and further afield) as somewhat of a bee-keeping expert - he even wrote a couple of books on the subject. So to make his card for this year I decided to break open my Dragonfly Dreams stamp set and use the beautiful bee image as the centre-piece. I'm ashamed to say that this is the first time I have used this stamp set, despite buying it ages ago! My card was totally inspired (and copied) by a swap I received at a Stampin' Up! event in the past. Sadly I've lost details of the demo who swapped with me, but whoever you were, thank you for your inspiration! I'm not sure how much detail you can see in the photos. I have embossed the bee in black so he is really shiny! I have chosen to fussy cut him rather than use the die in the coordinating set. And have used some loops of metallic thread behind him. Oh, and look at that fabulous Hexagons embossing folder. Now I've opened this set I have loads more ideas so watch out for more projects using this set....so many stamps, so little time, sigh! Back soon, Jill All the products I have used to make this project are all available from my online shop. Simply click "Shop Now" button on the top of this page or click any of the images below to go direct to that item in my online Stampin’ Up! shop. The Crew have a few options this week when they CASE their favourite retiring stamp set. Yes, I have many to choose from, but in the end picked one that has had a lot of love and you'll find it on page 138 of the annual catalogue: I decided to push the boat out a little more and take on the Stampin' Up! demonstrators May #simplestamping Challenge. Criteria: Theme - Anything Supplies - Stamp, Ink, Paper Twist - Feature your favourite retiring stamp set #simplestamping does not come easily to me, I seem to always add just a little more, but not this time!! I've chosen another retiring Stamp set - Wood Words for the foliage stamp which is so tiny and detailed. I've used Crushed Curry ink and stamped in the middle of a piece of Whisper White cardstock. I've then used Black Memento ink with the fabulous bee image and greeting from Dragonfly Dreams. I've matted that piece with Crushed Curry cardstock and added Stampin' Dimensionals to attach to my base. It was #seriouslysimple!! I felt like I was cheating a bit when I was done, even though I'd left this to the last minute! So I made another using just the Dragonfly Dreams stamp set: Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you'll be inspired to join the challenge this week. Make your card and post to our Facebook page using the link over to the right. Before that - please pop over and visit the fabulous Bec and her lovely project using another of my favourites:
