Gerard Dou, Leiden 1613 - 1675 Die Spitzenklöpplerin - The Lacemaker (1667) Staatliche Kunsthalle Karlsruhe Gerad Dou (auch Gerard Douw oder Gerrit Dou) gilt wegen seiner Vorliebe für die Darstellung minutiöser Details und seiner exzellenten Technik als Begründer der Leidener Feinmalerei, die bis weit ins 18. Jh. gepflegt wurde.
