Redesigned and finished with paper clay
Making a dollhouse is much like building a conventional house – it takes time and patience. There are a lot of pieces, but they are not complicated to cut and assemble.

My next commission is for Tracy. I named this one 'A Very Blessed Cottage' just for Tracy! This is a take on a house I did previously called Orchard House. This house is a little over 15" x 15". This is the house before I add any character. It's cute but it is missing something. Too new/too sterile for me! You can see the beams unpainted here. The wallpaper with the roses is something I printed off the internet. The colors are pink and aqua. Looked way too new. So... I aged it with a white wash and let it dry. Then sprayed it with some aging spray I made. I used a tiny spray bottle I filled with brown and black acrylic paint and lots of water. Shake it up and you have a spray to add age anywhere. Upstairs I used a paper I found in the scrapbook section. It was originally pristine and pink. But I needed it to be vintage and softer pink. So a white wash was applied. Just thin down your white acrylic with water. That's all there is to it! The entry section has ridged paper and a tin ceiling. There will be a crystal chandelier too. Everything is aged with an ink pad. The roof was a bit of a difficult cut because the angles are odd. But after a few tries I did get that perfect fit. The ceiling of the bump out is covered with wood slats. There will be a crystal chandelier here as well. The door is grey. The paint is a custom mix with black and white not completely mixed. When you apply it to your door it will be instant vintage. Thank you for the visit! Be blessed! hugs,
