Meet Holly Hobbie. And her friends. This was a line of dolls created by a real life Holly who lives in Massachusetts and is still turning out drawings. She first created the character in the 1960s when she was a contract artist for American Greetings. Eventually the drawing morphed into a line of dolls which sold quite well in the 80s, due to the popularity of Little House on the Prairie and all things pioneer. I had several dolls, since i was pretty fascinated with sunbonnets and gingham dresses, and played Holly Hobbie quite regularly. Holly was nice and good...
