This year in seminary as the students learned the Scripture Mastery we would have a Nerf Gun challenge to see which side of the room could hit the most targets with the Nerf Gun. I have been posting the targets with the Scripture Mastery Quizzes but then I thought it would be good to have a post that all the targets were grouped together. The pictures on the back side of the targets are part of my "Seminary in a Sack" program that I have done with the students this year. I also have started an Old Testament version that you can look at by clicking here. Each target has a front and a back side so that you can switch how you play the game. It has been a lot of fun for the students through out the year. Front side: Back side: Here is a copy of each target with the front side and the back side. To use them for yourself just right click on the picture to make it large. Then you can save it into your pictures or copy and paste it into your printing program. Have fun! 2 Nephi 26:33 states that “all are alike unto God, both Jew and Gentile.” Most people in Nephi’s time assumed that the gods of each nation only loved their own nation. Nephi taught otherwise. He also showed that the Gentiles would enthusiastically accept Jehovah as their God. This would take place because God simply lays down the conditions that people have to keep for Him to accept them, and those that keep His commandments become part of His kingdom, as was the case for ancient kings who laid down conditions for their subjects. It isn’t where people are from that matters to God, it’s what they do.
Lehi's teachings about the Fall are the most complete found in all scripture. Exploring the ancient, personal, and literary context of those teachings yields insights into his teachings on the Fall, its necessity in the plan of salvation, and the joy made possible through Adam's fall.

In Ether 12, Christ told Moroni that if men would come unto Him, He would show them their “weakness.” Some might assume this means that Christ would show us our weaknesses. However, the Book of Mormon authors never use the word weaknesses at all. Instead, they use the word weakness to refer to the actual condition of being weak: weak-ness. The Lord allows people to experience this weakness associated with mortality, “that they may be humble” (Ether 12:27). We all experience the weakened condition that is part of being human, and this is meant to invite us to experience Christ’s grace.

In 2 Nephi 2:27, Lehi used an ancient Israelite concept known as the doctrine of the “two ways” to explain the principle of agency to his sons. This doctrine states that there are only two ways to live: the way of life, and the way of death. Lehi’s teachings on agency demonstrate that moral agency—the ability all people have to choose between these two ways and act for themselves—is essential to Heavenly Father’s plan. Humanity’s eternal progression depends on which of the two ways people choose.

In 3 Nephi 18:15, the Lord gave instructions for things that His followers should do, which would help them to always remember Him. He told them that they “must watch and pray always.” If we are “watching,” we are keeping ourselves “awake” and “vigilant,” avoiding evil and keeping ourselves ready for the return of Jesus. We also “warn” others of the need to stay close to the Savior’s teachings. Praying always, as Jesus instructed, also demonstrates that we are always remembering Him and His teachings.
Our Book of Mormon study guides and resources are always our best sellers! They are designed to enrich your studies of the scriptures.
Nephi’s people wanted to know what they should do after baptism. He explained that before they do anything, they should “pray unto the Father in the name of Christ, that he will consecrate thy performance … for the welfare of thy soul.” Such frequent and consistent prayers help define what Nephi meant when he taught his people to “pray always, and not faint.” Those who prayerfully seek out and then perform the will of the Lord can become sanctified if they endure in this pattern until the end of their lives.
The Savior's appearance in 3 Nephi is the central event of the entire Book of Mormon. The first words spoken by the Savior are packed with important meaning about who He is, what He had accomplished, and why He did it, including an explanation of His relationship to the Father. These words set the tone for the rest of the Savior's teachings in 3 Nephi.
2 Nephi 28:30 states, “I will give unto the children of men line upon line, precept upon precept.” Nephi told his people to continuously seek knowledge from God, because God teaches people, “line upon line, precept upon precept.” This phrase is a modified quote from Isaiah 28:10, where the prophet condemned the inability of the false priests and prophets of Israel to receive revelation from the Holy Ghost. Because God could not reveal anything to these priests, he would instead teach the rising generation, one commandment at a time. 2 Nephi 28, shows that as believers are faithful to the truth they have already received, they will receive more.
When King Benjamin gave his final speech, he spoke to his people about the contrast between the troubles of those who had “fallen into transgression” (v. 40) and the blessings of those who “keep the commandments of God (v. 41). Although life won’t always be perfect, King Benjamin’s teachings show that “keeping the commandments will always bring happiness and blessings from the Lord.” He reminds us that through the Savior’s power, we can choose to “hold out faithful to the end” (v. 41), no matter what we experience in life.
Lehi's family had already traveled 250 miles through a grueling desert when the sons were sent back to retrieve the plates of brass. Nephi and his brothers had to traverse the desert once again, face off with the powerful Laban, and then travel again through the desert to return their father. Nephi knew that the Lord would prepare away, but the way prepared was not easy.
King Benjamin’s inspired speech in Mosiah 2–5 is rich with parallelisms, chiasmus, and other literary techniques that highlight and emphasize core doctrinal principles. One such doctrinal subject is the Fall, which Benjamin emphasizes in a chiastic frame at Mosiah 3:18–19. According to Benjamin’s formulation, the Fall of Adam and Eve, with the result that the natural (fallen) man is an “enemy to God,” can only be overcome through the Atonement of Jesus Christ by “putting off the natural man.” But beyond merely conveying this crucial doctrine, Benjamin added poetic depth to this teaching through his skilled use of chiastic structuring.
Nephi made several allusions to his father's vision of the tree of life as he taught people to "feast" on the word of Christ. Contemporary prophets like Ezekiel likewise "ate" the word of the Lord as a symbolic gesture, and there appear to temple and Sabbath day connotations in the symbolism. All of this provides a rich feast of insights on what it means to "feast upon the words of Christ."

I got this idea from Seminary at Six AM's blog. It just was such a fun idea and I wanted to do it for my class. Below is a picture of the items that we put into the sack. For every scripture mastery that we learned each student got a small item to put into the Seminary in a Sack. ******************************** Before anyone gets upset that I stole a bunch of wet wipes from Chick-fil-a, I just want to tell you that the wet wipes I bought for the kids were too big for the poster and I happened to have a smaller Chick-fil-a one in my purse, so I used it for the poster. ****************************************** I found these sacks on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0019FJQG4/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 And I decided to make an iron on transfer to put on the front and the back. I used Joleese Easy Image Transfer Sheets for light fabric. I bought them at JoAnns. Here is a printout for the one that I did. If you want to use it just click on the picture to make it large, then save it into you pictures or copy and paste it into you printing program. Front: (Prints 9) Here is a large version for you to use if you need it: Back: (Prints 12) Here is a large version if you need it: Once you have printed them onto your transfer paper (be sure to follow the directions) then cut out the transfer and lay the it in the center of the sack: Then iron the transfer for the time indicated in your directions (about 30-40 seconds): I ironed on both sides before I peeled of the paper backing. My instructions said to let it cool completely, then peel off the backing: Here is the completed sack: Front: Back: D&C ideas to put in the sack: I printed out a wallet sized version of the above chart for the students to put in their seminary in a sack. I also have a printout that I use to glue my charms on. I had it printed professionally in an 8x10 photo so that it looks nice. You can save it into your photos. If you are not doing the Seminary in a sack, I have a second printout that does not have the Seminary in a sack picture on it. See below. With the Seminary in a Sack: Without the Seminary in a Sack: The place that we found many of our charms was called Lucky Star on Amazon. The search is terrible for the charms, but they are worth looking through for the price and the selection. Here is the link: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=sr_pg_1?rh=n%3A2617941011%2Cp_4%3ALucky+Star&ie=UTF8&qid=1411486889 Here are some close up pictures of the charms. The students enjoyed collecting all of the charms throughout the year. I had a great time coming up with ideas for each Scripture Mastery. Some of them were difficult, but we got them all done.
