I make original portraits of famous writers and persons. I try to show their works (novels, poems, historical events) on their face. For every piece of my work I need approximately 30-40 hours, because I draw with rapidographs, and I love doing things in a more complicated way so my drawing technique is dotting. Portrait of Albert Camus. He was a French philosopher, author, and journalist. His views contributed to the rise of the philosophy known as absurdism. In the essay "The Myth of Sisyphus", Camus introduces his philosophy of the absurd: man's futile search for meaning, unity, and clarity in the face of an unintelligible world devoid of God and eternal truths or values. The illustration inside Camus head shows Sisyphus pushing the stone. A detail that is highlighted is a chain holding a rock . WHEN Sysiphus ACCEPTED absurd, his life has become easier ( chain is helping him metaforicaly ) , and therefore his infinite job of pushing the stone. Size 13x20 cm or 5x8 inches. This 100 pcs limited edition signed and numbered print. I use a Fabriano Carta Crea 220g ( colour Onice ) paper. Shipped in a protected envelope. Handmade in Pula, Croatia by Polite BastART.
