Vintage Glasbake | Divided Green Crazy Daisy Casserole Dish J2352 | 1960's Glasbak, or “Glasbake,” was one of the most popular brands of kitchen glassware. Made of temperature-resistant milk glass, Glasbake offered a variety of dishes—everything from baking pans to coffee percolators—in a wide array of prints. The brand was commissioned by Pennsylvania-based McKee Glass Company in 1917 and survived several name and ownership changes and stiff competition from Pyrex and other similar brands. Heralded as “Sanitary Baking Ware and Serving Ware Combined,” Glasbake ceased production by the early 1980s. Still, collectors have discovered its beautiful mid-century prints and Art Deco designs in the secondary marketplace. This vintage oval casserole dish is a beautiful addition to any kitchen. The dish features a glossy milk glass finish, and a lovely green daisy pattern.. Its production technique involved fused glass. There are no marks, defects. The pattern is strong, with mild degradation in small spots (see photo). Small chip to inside divided part of glass (see photo). Measuring 11 inches in length, 8.5" wide. Each of these vintage glassware is a tangible piece of history. It is truly incredible to think of the many hands that have touched it, and the life events and memories it was a part of. And now it is ready for a new person and to have a purpose again. ******************************************************** -By purchasing this item you confirm you have read the item description. -I will combine multiple orders for efficient shipping when/where possible. -All items will be shipped within 1-3 business days. -Shipping and packing items to survive the shipping experience is expensive. The Lettuce Ware Pitcher was created in collaboration with iconic potter Dodie Thayer. Known as the “Pottery Queen of Palm Beach,” Dodie was a true American artisan and entrepreneur, whose pieces have been collected by legendary hostesses since the 1960s. She is part of an artistic tradition that goes back centuries, a history of lettuce ware interpreted by different cultures around the world. Each pitcher is delicately molded, detailed and painted by hand. Perfect for everyday use, as a serving piece or a vase for flowers.
Being a wine nerd is very rewarding. While I enjoy all the history and geography lessons I always get when researching wine, my absolute favorite thing about wine is that there is always something new to taste.
