Video Preview / Video Lesson Plan: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yVanyURbE3Q NOTE: The actual general student assignment is three pages, but the product includes many differentiations, directions, and supports! Every veteran teacher knows that setting expectations and procedures at the beginning of the year is CRUCIAL. However, not many of us look forward to the boring humdrum of going over where the pencil sharpener is, how we expect students to raise their hands, how we want them to look when they are learning. Here is a lab that is a great follow-up to that lesson that will get students engaged, get you teaching, and still give you time to focus on those essential beginning of the year expectations and procedures. This lab specifically has students set up an ideal classroom environment and then slowly add distractions and measure their progress to see how these distractions affect their learning. I have personally done this with 3rd graders, 5th graders, and 7th graders. It is versatile and can be geared up or calmed down depending on the needs of your students. Differentiations included: -Challenge Menu for Gifted and Talented/Advanced -General Education Sheet -General Education + ADHD Adaptations -General Education + Dyslexia Font -General Education + Visual Impairment -General Education + Twice Exceptional -Easier Version (High Functioning), Special Education and ESOL + ADHD Adaptations -Easier Version (High Functioning), Special Education and ESOL + Dyslexia Font -Easier Version (High Functioning), Special Education and ESOL + Visual Impairment -Easier Version (High Functioning), Special Education and ESOL + Three Times Exceptional -Easiest Version (Higher Need, WIDA 1-2 ESOL) -General Spanish Version -General Spanish + ADHD Adaptations -General Spanish + Dyslexia Font -General Spanish + Visual Impairment -General Spanish + Twice Exceptional -Spanish Easier Version -Spanish Easier Version, + ADHD Adaptations -Spanish Easier Version + Dyslexia Font -Spanish Easier Verison + Visual Impairment -Spanish Easier Version + Three Times Exceptional -Easiest Verison (Higher Need) in Spanish

This book explores identity and diet in the Caringa people of coastal Peru. Intra-group differentiations are dictated by taboos and beliefs around childhood diet and people's identity. \nPueblo Viejo-Pucara is one of the coastal archaeological sites that were ruled by the Inka Empire on the central coast of Peru, inhabited by the Caringa people. Labor colonists relocated to the site as part of Inka strategies of annexation of new territories, reducing local polities' power. Archaeological evidence points to connections between the Caringa people and highland communities. An unexplored line of evidence is people's food habits, identity, diet and nutrition. The way society prepares, serves, and eats its food is socio-culturally shaped. An integrative approach based on bioarchaeological, dental anthropological, biochemical, and ethnohistorical data is applied, revealing significant intra-site variability and food behaviors being dictated by people's identity and social status, additionally impacting childhood nutritional condition. The symbolic meaning behind food was embodied in ritual and funerary events, reinforcing local identities, local food cooking modalities, storage facilities and exchange between neighborhoods.

Spatial and identity research operates with differentiations and relations that are particularly useful for examining border regions in which social and geopolitical demarcations diverge. The authors of this volume investigate spatial and identity constructions in crossborder contexts as they appear in everyday, institutional, and media practices. The results are discussed with a keen eye for obliquely aligned spaces and identities linked to governmental issues of standardization and subjectivation. Research is based on empirical surveys conducted in Germany, France, Belgium, and Luxembourg.

SLOW LEATHER THE HUE, From design to handmade leather goods. Sedgwick has produced vegetable tanned leathers since its founding in 1900, and uses the highest quality hides from the UK and Ireland. A waxy grain is one of the most distinguishable characteristics of the leather. Incredible yields. One of the biggest differentiations of Sedgwick leathers is the hand finishing that goes into each of the leathers. Its curriers are highly skilled and hand wax and color every piece of leather. Sedgwick's tanning and currier processes creates leathers that are highly durable, have superb tensile strength and have a high shine. ※ THE HUE style 1. What is the difference between Autism and Asperger’s Syndrome? Autistic children have severe symptoms & signs compared to children with Asperger's syndrome.
I've been reading the book, Mindsets in the Classroom by Mary Cay Ricci, and just finished chapter 3. It was a real eye-opener. Through all of my years of teaching, I thought I was differentiating by planning and implementing reteaching and enrichment lessons and activities as my class worked through a unit. But in this chapter, I learned how important it is to start the differentiation before the unit even begins! This process begins with the preassessment. So much valuable information can be gathered before you begin teaching a unit. The purpose of the preassessment is to find how much students understand the content before you plan and teach the unit. Do they have a complete understanding of the content? Then they will need enrichment and/or accelerated activities. Do they have a partial understanding of the content? Then you need to make note of the gaps in their learning so you can plan accordingly. Checklists are a great way to keep track of the objectives and student mastery. From this checklist, you will also see students that need to be grouped for instruction. Keep in mind that this grouping will change as students master the objectives. Another insight I gained from this chapter is the different types of assessments used in a classroom. I put together this graphic to sum up the three types of assessment you should be using in your classroom. Click on the image to download the pdf version. You can also download this free packet with three quick and easy formative assessments you can use

When trying to differentiate instruction for our students, it's easy to feel overwhelmed. Here are 6 Easy Ways to Differentiate Instruction
\"Precision ... Statistical and Mathematical Methods in Horse Racing\" thoroughly discusses the mathematical and statistical methods in handicapping and betting techniques. Differentiations, combinatorics, normal distribution, kernel smoothing and other mathematical and statistical tools are introduced. The jargons and equations are kept to a minimum so that it is easy to understand for most readers. More than 20 professional programs are freely available to download, which can allow readers to easily apply the methodology introduced in the book. This book can be divided into three main parts: horse handicapping (Chapters 2-6), wagering (Chapters 7-9) and theories in practices (Chapters 10-11). Chapter 1 will explain why long term gains are possible in horse racing. About horse handicapping, we will start with analysing racing forms in Chapter 2. Other handicapping factors such as weight carried, jockeys, trainers and pedigrees will be discussed in Chapter 3. Some advanced statistical methods, such as chi-square test and kernel smoothing, will be introduced in Chapter 4 to further analyse those handicapping factors discussed in previous chapters. The following two chapters are about probability estimations. In Chapter 5, normal distribution and multinominal logistic regression are introduced in estimating winning probability of each race horse. In Chapter 6, we will talk about some methods in misconceptions in estimating placed probability. Two main concepts in wagering, Kelly criterion and hedging, will be discussed in Chapters 7 and 8. To hit exotic pools, those theories in combinatorics in Chapter 9 will definitely help the readers. The author will share his experiences in betting syndicate in Chapter 10, and tell you how to be a successful professional horseplayer in the last Chapter. Some readers may find the mathematics in this book difficult, but the free program will take your pain away and do all the calculations. You can simply apply all the professional formulae by no more than a click, and pick your horses like an expert analyst. As an awardee in Asian-Pacific Mathematics Olympiad, the author abandoned his career as an actuary and became a key member in a gambling syndicate. This book was reprinted in the 4th edition in Hong Kong, ranked #2 in the best-selling chart in the international Chinese weekly Yazhou Zhoukan, and now available worldwide.
