Hello there crafty friend! Today I'm sharing a few Summer themed memory dex cards that I've created for my spinner to keep track of the birthdays in my life, be it family or friend. I've been struggling this year with sending out birthday cards... not sure if it's just a 2020 thing, but I got to thinking that it sure would be handy to have a way to keep track of those birthdays in a more efficient way. So I happened to have some Summer themed papers on my desk and I got to thinking that I'd just start with those!! I also had the new fabulous Barn Create-A-Dex die on my desk... so naturally, I used it!! I started by die cutting the stitched barn die from the pretty papers. I used a piece from the Strawberry Fields paper pad, the Rustic Watermelon paper pad, and the Golden Beach paper pad. And then I also pulled out my ephemera pieces... Strawberry Fields ephemera and Rustic Watermelon ephemera (looks like that is sold out). I didn't have any Golden Beach ephemera so I just cut a bunch of images out of two different patterned papers. I just love how easy these cards came together. Let's have a closer look... I used a red card stock from my stash for the memory dex card base. I adhered the beautiful Strawberry Field patterned paper that I had die cut with the stitched barn die. Then I adhered the leaves and jam jar ephemera pieces. I popped up the strawberry ephemera piece with foam squares and then I just trimmed June from an old calendar set that I had from a couple of years ago. I mat it on the same red card stock and adhered it to the card. I wanted to add a bit of ribbon and decided to just punch a couple holes in the card and tie the bow through there... it was pretty easy. I'm going to die cut another piece of red card stock with the base die and adhere it to the back just to make the whole card a little more stable. I also added a little Nuvo aqua shimmer to the strawberry ephemera piece. You can see a little bit of the sparkle in this photo. For my July memory dex card, I die cut a base of black card stock and then adhered the pretty Rustic Watermelon patterned paper. I also die cut the red heart from that same paper (it's the other side of the double sided patterned paper). I covered up the black hole with the cute ephemera pieces and the red patterned paper heart. I also punched a couple holes in the card and added a bit of white baker's twine. And to finish this one off, I added a few white enamel dots... oh, and a little sparkle to the watermelon slice in the gnomes hand with the Nuvo aqua shimmer pen. I'm also going make this one a bit more sturdy by die cutting another black base. And my last card... which just may be my favorite! My base for this one uses my all time favorite card stock... Tempting Turquoise. I adhered the pretty star fish patterned paper from the Golden Beach paper pad to the base and adhered the bikini, life preserver, and sunblock bottle directly to the card. I then popped up the flip flops and seashell. I mat 'August' with the same turquoise card stock and adhered it to the card. I also added some shimmer to the flip flops and the seashell. I wish it showed up better in the photos. So now I have three memory dex cards done!! Woo hoo! I think I'll do the Fall months using papers from the September 2020 FOTM Card Kit Orchards & Patches. Hi Everyone! I'm excited to bring you some brand new files that are in the Lori Whitlock SVG shop and coming to the Silhouette Store! Memorydex scrapbooking is making a comeback! They are perfect for documenting weekly favorite photos, December daily, recipes, events... whatever! I decided to use this Memorydex box for my weekly photos. My goal is to do a card a week in 2020 documenting my favorite picture of that week. Take a peek... I started with the new Memorydex Box and Cards file (SVG, Silhouette). I decorated the base box using some Doodlebug Design Love Notes collection and Abigail Alphas. I then created cards for my first two weeks of 2020. For week one, I used one of the new Memorydex Foldover Cards (SVG, Silhouette) I love how you can decorate the front of the card, and add extra photos on the inside! It's great for when you can't pick just one photo to document! The base of my cards are Doodlebug Design Petite Prints. I used some Sweet Summer Stickers to document our recent trip to the Keys. For week 2 I used one of the new Memorydex Scalloped Cards (SVG, Silhouette) I made a set of all the new cards that coordinate with the Memorydex Box, so that it's easier for me to keep up with documenting my year! I love creating MemoryDex cards! Here are 4 using Sugarplum Wishes to go into my perpetual tray. I purchased a mint wooden tray a few years ago and am filling it with cards made with all of my American Crafts scrapbook collections: Go the Scenic Route, Wonders, Bungalow Lane, Splendid, Garden Shoppe, Blooming Wild, and now Sugarplum Wishes! This is a continuation of my Pink Paislee MemoryDex (click on that link to see them all!) which coincidentally filled up completely with my last collection under the Pink Paislee brand called Bloom Street. For the first Sugarplum Wishes MemoryDex card I cut a section of the colorful trees Paper 10, poked holes around the trees, and backstitched with coordinating colors of DMC thread. I topped the trees and filled in gaps with Sugarplum Wishes Enamel Dots and PTE Enamel Dots. On the right edge I slid on three Paper Clips with Charms to finish. For the second Sugarplum Wishes MemoryDex card I used my Layered Poinsettia from the 25 Christmas Cut Files 2023 to make all the layers from pink and red patterned papers. I creased all the petals and then added French knots to the smallest piece. After gluing all the flowers together I placed it onto a blue snowflake card from the Boxed Cards. Some blue pom pom trim added to the top finishes up this MemDex card! For the third Sugarplum Wishes MemoryDex card I die cut my Front Porch from the 25 Christmas Cut Files 2023 from white cardstock, backed all the tiny sections with patterned paper scraps, then placed it on a green card from the Boxed Cards with tiny foam squares. I added white glitter cardstock as snowy hills at the bottom and punched the MemDex holes to finish! The fourth Sugarplum Wishes MemoryDex card is the one I made in bulk to swap at our Sugarplum Wishes Weekend event. I added fringed paper strips and pink pom pom trim on the front along with the logo. Then on the back I made a pocket to tuck in Ephemera Die Cuts with photos and journaling on them documenting Sugarplum Wishes. I embellished the tags and die cuts with Mini Puffy Stickers and pieces from the Sticker Book. I chose a few photos to print all about Sugarplum Wishes arriving, organizing it, photographing it, kitting it, and my December Daily album made with it, and wrote out my feelings about my first Christmas collection with American Crafts! I've added these 4 cards into my MemoryDex tray and it sits on top of a cabinet in my happy scrappy place! Let me know if you have any questions about any of these cards or MemoryDex in general! Ciao a tutte e bentornate nel nostro blog! Oggi vi parlerò di una cosa di cui mi sono totalmente innamorata! Il Memory Dex Spinner!! Se già lo conoscete credo proprio che mi darete ragione... per chi invece non lo conoscesse ancora vi spiego brevemente cos'è! Avete presente quell'aggeggio a rullo, da scrivania, che serve in ufficio come rubrica? Beh, mi ha sempre attirato, ancora prima di vedere cosa ne avesse fatto Heidi Swapp!! Non vi dico appena ho visto la versione di Heidi!! L'ho puntato su un sito senza tanto informarmi e quando l'ho trovato in fiera l'ho subito comprato! E subito ho dovuto prendere le fustelle per fare le card a misura e ovviamente il perforatore!!! Qualcuno mi capisce vero?? Beh una volta avuta tra le mani tutta l'attrezzatura dovevo solo mettermi all'opera! E cercando ispirazioni sul web... da perderci davvero la testa... ho cominciato a seguire Lorrie Nunemaker, bravissima! e mi sono iscritta al suo gruppo su facebook dove organizzano swap! vi lascio qualche fotina di card appena realizzate! Non vedo l'ora che il mio memory dex sia pieno zeppo di card da sfogliare!!! Col perforatore si possono semplicemente forare le card del PL! Adoro le frangine e la passamaneria a pompon! Potevo non dedicarne una anche ai miei adorati flamingooooo?!?!? questa fustella l'adoro!! Si possono anche mettere ovviamente le foto, e fare un "album" alternativo! foto fustellata! qui ho fustellato una card di acetato infine non poteva mancare una shaker card!! Vi aggiornerò presto appena avrò un altro pò di card da mostrarvi!! Dai, ve la dico tutta: ho comprato anche questo!!! In previsione di riempire subito il rullo!! Dove le mettevo altrimenti le altre card?! (Memory Dex Tray, sempre di Heidi Swapp!!) Beh, stavolta è proprio tutto!! Spero di avervi lasciato la curiosità di approfondire... non ve ne pentirete!!
