YOU DON'T HAVE TO CHOOSE WITH A VARIETY PACK Are you an avid deer hunter or wildlife enthusiast? Our Wildlife Plant Variety Pack of trees is perfect for your deer food plot or yard to invite the animals in! This variety pack of wildlife trees includes 3 trees of the Nuttall Oak tree, Shumard Oak Tree, and Sawtooth Oak tree to help attract wildlife such as deer herds, squirrels, wild turkey, hogs, several species of birds, and other small mammals. The shipment will depend on our availability and what we have in stock but if you have a preference please chat or email us and we'll try our best to accommodate you. It provides a source of food during the fall and winter after the nuts or large acorns drop to the ground. Most other vegetative plants are starting to go into dormancy for winter. Chestnut and acorn trees for a wildlife habitat are important if you are trying to attract deer for hunting or simply enjoying their presence. Nuttall Oak and Sawtooth Oak species are some of the best oak trees for deer because they produce hundreds of pounds of acorns per year. The Nuttall is a red oak native tree species to North America while Sawtooth is a white oak native to Asia. Our American chestnut trees for deer are some of the animal’s favorite snacks (even more so than acorns!). The Hybrid American Chestnut is a great cultivar because it is modified to be blight resistant. Create a permanent food plot for your wildlife garden or hunting property that will produce bushels of tasty treats for the animals! These are the best trees to plant for deer and will start producing acorns and chestnuts quickly and reliably. Another advantage of planting wildlife trees is that is will create safe homes for other creatures to nest and live. Support birds and other wildlife by planting a wildlife friendly garden! How to Attract Deer & Other Animals to Your Landscape These are fast growing trees for wildlife that can grow up to 1-2 feet per year. We recommend planting these in their appropriate USDA grow zones 5-9, which is in most regions of the United States. Plant these wildlife trees in full sun to enjoy the benefits and allowing them to grow quickly. They will become tall shade trees with heights of up to 60 feet tall and wide. The Oak and Chesnut trees for deer prefer well draining soil types that are kept consistently moist during the first year of planting to establish a strong root system. We do recommend mulching with pine straw or pine bark when planting to help retain moisture, especially if this is at your hunting property or somewhere where you do not live and cannot water every single day or they are not near a water source. The best time to plant trees is in spring before deer season begins and the nut trees have time to get going in the ground. Fruit trees such as apple trees and American Persimmon trees are other good trees for deer eating during hunting season. Grow a natural food source in your landscape for wildlife such as deer, turkey, and birds that will last for a lifetime! Shop Wildlife trees for sale.
