- An original wood wall art home gallery piece to add a beautiful nature aesthetic to your room decor! This fine art sculpture of an old growth tree with twisted roots was hand-carved and free-hand "fire drawn" onto sustainably gathered, sculpted, smooth Alaskan Spruce wood. "Solid Grip" Artist: Joe Riske, Alaska Approximate Dimensions: 17" Wide x 15.5" Tall x 3/4" Thick ~The floods and harsh winds of our lives bend us and attempt to make us lose our grip. But the solid things we find in life anchor us and keep us grounded as we hold on tight to endure each passing moment... So many long hours and much care went into the details of this one of a kind work of art! It was created from a root of a salvaged tipped Spruce tree that our family hauled from the woods. Every perfect imperfection of cracks, twists, bark, knots, and spalting were embraced in the piece's rugged character. We slabbed and dried it naturally over time. Then Joe sculpted and sanded the shape to his liking. Once ready, he began the magic of allowing the woodburning pen to flow with the wood and his imagination for the rough design. Rocks and roots were relief carved in by hand, and the Razertip pen tips burnished and deeply textured each trunk bark detail, branch, and leaf! For protection, the sculpture is sealed with Spar urethane and a UV matte art finish. Balanced & ready to hang on the wall of your favorite relaxing space! * International delivery estimates may take much longer than stated due to shipping company covid or weather-related delays, and/or delays going thru customs. A tracking number and/or shipping insurance is available if shipping to countries that provide them. Care Instructions: Please display your artwork out of direct sunlight in a dry, grease-free area away from moisture. Dust as needed with a soft, dry cloth or "canned air" Please be reminded that the beautiful wood used is a natural product. Great care was taken to dry the wood to an acceptable moisture content prior to sanding and creating art on it. Even with the layers of sealant/finish applied upon completion, it is normal for wood to move, twist, crack, and change color. The materials contain natural raw character from life in the forest as a tree; such as knots, bark, voids spaces and dips, worm holes, random grain patterns, cracks, spalting, etc. All of these attributes add interest and un-reproduceable uniqueness to the art! The wood utilized in your artwork can be affected by moisture, dryness, light and time. I recommend that you preserve the artwork by keeping it out of sunlight and displayed in interior moderated temperature/moisture conditions. I hope that you enjoy your artwork for years to come!

Stone Circle” is a 8.5x11 in. mandala illustrating the element of Earth and the sign of Taurus. The number four symbolizes power, sturdiness and stability. Much like a square, it is a perfectly symmetrical shape with it’s 90 degree angles and equal side lengths. Four Nordic stones, and four grand Oak trees symbolize this stability and power. To be rooted is deeply important to the sign of Taurus, who hold their level of stability very close to their sense of safety. Magick mushrooms and braided sweet grass are replaced by the traditional Bull figure, as guardians of the interconnectedness of all beings. The pentacle, representing the wisdom of the Earth, is between a bed of rose quartz crystals, which carry the energy of unconditional love, and the unfolding Rose flower, which above all other flowers, is associated with sensuality and pleasure. The Rose also represents Venus, which is Taurus’ ruling planet and guardian, responsible for Taurus’ undeniable appetite for pleasure, connection, and wealth in all areas of life. The symbol of the Earth element stands rooted and centered in this underground space, which is so closely tied to the the celestial realm above. This illustrates the idea that the further one traverses down, the closer they are to the top… Lilacs, in all their Spring beauty, curve in towards one another atop the pentacle, the circle of Spirit, and in this way reflect the crescent of receptivity that is symbolized on the glyph of Taurus. This visual talisman is intended to invoke the element of Earth and the spirit of Taurus, promoting greater stability, sensual pleasure, receptivity to the wisdom of the Earth, and a greater awareness of one’s interconnectedness to all beings.
