Como esta toda mi gente bella esta semana. Les deseo a todos una semana maravillosa y a los que son nuevos por acá BIENVENIDOS a este espacio de moda y viajes. En mis guias de viaje comparto mis lugares favoritos en una ciudad y les muestro LOS SPOTS IMPERDIBLES para llevarse los mejores recuerdos en FOTOS. Es nuestra segunda visita a WASHINGTON D.C. y esta vez vinimos con mas tiempo y con mas ganas porque visitamos a nuestros queridos amigos que viven super cerquita de DC, a unos quince minutitos, en Alexandria, Virginia. Lola, Mr. P y Vera forman parte especial de este post porque gracias a ellos, que nos llevaron a sus lugares favoritos, disfrutamos de la ciudad millones de veces mas porque nos transmitieron lo mucho que les gusta vivir aca y sus lugares preferidos. WASHINGTON DC GUIA TURÍSTICA Nuestra primera visita fue en el 2016 y pueden ver en mi post de Washington de noche la parte mas histórica de la ciudad y nuestras primeras impresiones. Verla de noche es MARAVILLOSO y lo recomendamos ampliamente. Todo, absolutamente todo, los monumentos, las fuentes... cambian de tono y se transforman en algo magico. Si tuviera que decidirme, creo que me gusta mas de noche. Asi que empezamos con esta lista turistica de los mejores spots en DC! 1. GEORGE TOWN UNIVERSITY: Fundada en 1789 la Universidad de Georgetown es la universidad católica más antigua de los Estados Unidos. No solamente es hermosa su fachada, tambien tiene una vista bellisima de la ciudad y para nuestros amigos tiene un significado especial. 2. CAPITOLIO DE ESTADOS UNIDOS: Nuestro edificio favorito en la ciudad por su tono bien europeo y su significancia. Aqui esta el poder! El edificio alberga las dos cámaras del Congreso de los Estados Unidos. Se encuentra en el barrio Capitol Hill se construyo en 1800 y es una de las principales atracciones turísticas. A nosotros nos recuerda a House of Cards. Una de nuestras series favoritas. 3. EL BARRIO DE GEORGETOWN: Georgetown es un barrio del DC fundado en 1751 en la ribera del río Potomac, es una ciudad bellisima y super pintoresca. Nos encantoooo pasear por esta zona llena de tiendas y restaurantes bellisimos. No se pierdan la calle M y la avenida Wisconsin, que cuentan con centros comerciales, bares, restaurantes y lugares lindisimos para pasear y fotografiar. Aqui tambien estan las embajadas de Francia, Mongolia, Suecia, Tailandia, Venezuela y Ucrania están localizadas en Georgetown . La esquina rosada: esta a unas cuadras de la Universidad y la ameeeeeee! Se llama GREENWORKS FLORIST. 4. U STREET: Siiiii. Conseguimos nuestra zona favorita. Llena de bares super cool con terrazas y murales. Se siente un ambiente totalmente distinto en la U Street. Es un distrito comercial y residencial lleno de tiendas, restaurantes, discotecas, galerías de arte y locales de música a lo largo de nueve cuadras para caminar y conoer. Se extiende desde la calle 9 en el este hasta la calle 18 y la avenida Florida en el oeste. Nosotros fuimos a ARCHIPELAGO un bar TIKI super lindo, ambientado con todos los juguetes y toda la onda. Los cocteles deliciosos y una terraza lindisima. Diagonal al bar en un estacionamiento, vi este mural (junto con otros) y tenia que tomarme foto! Saben que amo los murales! 5. LA ZONA DE LA CASA BLANCA Ya en mi anterior post habia mostrado mas de esta zona. Asi que les dejo el link aqui por si quieren visitarlo y ver mas fotos. Lo cierto es que cerca de la Casa Blanca se consiguen edificios maravillosos, bien historicos y de epoca. Y los animo a ponerles tanta atencion como a la famosa casa de gobierno. 6. ALBERT EINSTEIN MEMORIAL: El Albert Einstein Memorial es una monumental estatua de bronce que representa a Albert Einstein sentado con manuscritos en la mano del escultor Robert Berks. Nosotros somos SUPER FAN DE EINSTEIN, lo admiramos, lo reconocemos y nos encanta! Es bellisimo de verdad y estamos muy felices de haber podido conocerlo. Se encuentra en el centro de DC en un bosquecillo en la esquina suroeste de los terrenos de la Academia Nacional de Ciencias en 2101 Constitution Avenue N.W., cerca del Monumento a los Veteranos de Vietnam. Sus ecuaciones mas importantes estan grabadas. En orden: - La teoria general de la relatividad - El efecto fotoelectrico - La equivalencia de la energia y materia Amamos que estan exibidas tres de sus citas mas famosas "Mientras yo tenga la posibilidad de escoger donde vivir, viviré solamente en aquel país donde las libertades civiles, la tolerancia y la igualdad entre todos los ciudadanos prevalezcan antes que la ley". "Alegría y asombro por la belleza y la grandeza de este mundo del cual el hombre puede simplemente formar una noción tenue ..." "El derecho a buscar la verdad también implica un deber: uno no debe ocultar ninguna parte de lo que uno ha reconocido que es verdad". Einstein UN DURO! UN CRACK POR SIEMPRE! 7. LINCOLN MEMORIAL El Monumento a Lincoln fue creado para honrar la memoria del Presidente Abraham Lincoln, el edificio con forma de templo griego dórico, quien tiene una gran escultura de Abraham sentado con las inscripciones de dos discursos mas conocidos. Aquí, en este monumento conmemorativo han tenido lugar discursos históricos como el de Martin Luther King 'Yo tengo un sueño' en 1963. Es IMPONENTE Y MARAVILLOSO. Y uno de nuestros favoritos para visitar siempre. Este lugar se ve casi desde todos lados en DC y tan representativo. Es un simbolo de poder y respeto. Al meno asi lo vemos nosotros. Esta vez pudimos hacer el paseo desde su Memorial hasta el World War II y fue bellismo. La caminata es reveladora. 8. WASHINGTON MEMORIAL El gran obelisco blanco es un monumento conmemorativo al primer presidente de Estados Unidos, George Washington quien gano la independencia del país luchando frente a los británicos en la Guerra de la Independencia. Fue hasta 1889 la estructura mas alta del mundo *desplazada por la Torre Eiffel. Nosotros jurando que el de Buenos Aires era mas alto y resulta que este Obelisco es tres veces mas grande!!!! Lo mas hermoso como les contaba arriba es poder caminar toda la piscina reflectante del monumento a Lincoln y sentirse en la mitad de una pelicula, especificamente la de Forest Gump... vamos Jenny! 9. ARLIGTON MEMORIAL BRIDGE El Arlington Memorial Bridge es de nuestros favoritos. Siempre decimos que los norteamericanos se BOTAN haciendo puntes. Mientras ms tenemos la oportunidad de viajar mas nos enamoramos de ellos. El Golden Gate, el Brooklyn Bridge... todos, todos, son maravillosos. Este es bien europeo, bien parisino, de arco neoclásico de mampostería, acero y piedra. Fue propuesto en 1886 y duro varias decadas en construccion. Se ven personas haciendo ejercicio, otras simplemente contemplando el bello paisaje y aqui nos pueden ver a Lola y a mi admirando el hermoso puente. Les estoy preparando un post de fotos con amigas y sin duda esta foto va a figurar en ese post. 10. WORLD WAR II MEMORIAL Primeva vez que lo visitamos y es increible. Te quita el aliento. Por todo lo que significa, por el precio de la libertad como se puede ver en uno de los monumentos. El Memorial de la Segunda Guerra Mundial esta dedicado a los estadounidenses que sirvieron en las fuerzas armadas y como civiles durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial. Constituido por 56 columnas y un par de pequeños arcos triunfales que rodean un cuadrado y una fuente. Llegamos aqui caminando desde el Linlcon Memorial ya cayendo la noche. El atardecer fue increible. Todas las personas dando sus respetos y conectandose con el momento.
