Miles Davis from the 'Round About Midnight cover photoshoot, by the mid-century photographer, Marvin Koner (1921-1983). In 1956 Marvin Koner was hired by Columbia Records to shoot the album cover for 'Round About Midnight -- the Miles Davis record that catapulted him to fame. Awash in red stage lights, Koner captured Davis behind dark sunglasses playing alongside John Coltrane at a Café Bohemia gig in New York City. This out-take is one of the best-selling photographs in the Marvin Koner Archive.
