Snails and Donkeys! Who would have thought I would be so crazy about such non-traditional creatures? I mean, neither one is especially snuggly. But here we are, with The Rose.

Want a sneak peek of what’s to come in January? Of COURSE you do! This gorgeous stamp set is called Darling Donkeys and I predict it’s going to be this Sale-a-Brations BIG hit. You get three cute donkeys (one isn’t shown here) and a selection of greetings and they’re just perfect for colouring in and creating fun cards for children and the young at heart. Lots of potential for creating your own amusing greetings using alphabet sets or dies, too! Check out what I’ve been making... This one uses the gorgeous Flower & Field Designer Series Paper, which is also a SAB item. I’ve already warned my ladies that they’re really going to have to manage their SAB choices carefully this year as there are so many great things to choose from and only two months to earn them this time! Yes, if you haven’t already heard, Sale-a-Bration is only running during January and February but stop! This is GOOD news for two reasons: 1. It only features stamps and Designer Series Paper, which don’t have any supply issues as they’re sourced in the UK (so no delays caused by Chinese New Year). 2. There will be ANOTHER Sale-a-Bration in July and August - yay! So you actually get a whole month extra of SAB. (We demonstrators get two whole months extra as SAB has started already for us – so if that’s a benefit you want to enjoy, please contact me via the email address in the side panel or click here if you are on a mobile and can’t see it. This cheery yellow card uses the Dandy Garden Designer Series Paper which I know you’re going to love. Delicate dandelion clocks provide a subtle background to this sitting donkey. And this card is an almost copy of a sample in the Sale-a-Bration brochure. It uses the Cinnamon Cider In Color DSP but I’d run out of Bumblebee DSP so made my hay bales using the Stacked Stone background stamp instead. What do you think? Are the donkeys going to be on your SAB hit list?

I have been having more fun playing with the Darling Donkeys Sale-a-bration stamp set. You can see the first card I made with this set by clicking on the photo below. They are such happy looking donkeys and really fun to colour. For the first card I coloured the donkeys with Blends Markers in Crumb Cake and Soft Suede and a tiny bit of Flirty Flamingo. Once they were coloured I carefully fussy cut both donkeys. The hills were cut using one of the dies from the Quite Curvy Bundle in Old Olive and Pear Pizzazz. One the front hill I heat embossed one of the greetings from the Quite Curvy Bundle. The small 'It's your birthday' is from the Darling Donkeys stamp set. To make the clouds I used a new tool coming in the Jan to June Mini Catalogue, Blending Brushes! Yay, I'm very excited that Stampin' Up! have added these brushes to our range. The stencil for the clouds was cut from the Happy Dies.I will be back later this week with a video to demonstrate how these brushes work. He's such a cutey. This set is going to be very well used, I love it. For the next card I used the third donkey from this stamp set. When I stamped the donkey on Whisper White I masked the flower so that it did not stamp because I wanted to add a balloon instead. The balloon is from the Happy Dies and was cut from Rainbow Glimmer paper, another current favourite product. I hand drew the string for the balloon with a Black Stampin' Write Marker. This donkey was coloured with Smoky Slate Markers and a tiny bit of Flirty Flamingo for inside his ears. The panel on the left side of the card was done using the Baby Wipe technique with Granny Apple Green, Pacific Point and Bermuda Bay. I coloured white Crushed Seam Binding with a Granny Apple Green Blends Marker to co ordinate with the balloon. I hope you love this stamp set as much as I do. It is available for FREE with a $90 purchase during our Sale-a-bration sale which begins on the 5th of January. All of the products I used for these cards are listed below. Hi everyone, sharing a set of 3 cards I made from one piece of 15.2cm x 15.2cm (6" x 6") Designer Series Paper and the Darling Donkeys stamp set which is a free item in the current Sale-A-Bration promotion when you spend $90 or more. The background behind the Donkeys I cased from Tashana Lundy. Tashana has a video here on how this back ground was created using the Painted Poppies stamp set. I added a 0.5cm wide strip of Basic Black cardstock to each card, it just added that little pop of contrast. The love hearts I punched using a small heart punch that is now retired as I do not have any of the current products with hearts in them so I had to improvise. The Oh So Ombre Designer Series Paper is also a free Sale-A-Bration item. I love the ombre effect on this paper.
