I painted this Dala horse in high school (yes, really truly!) and thought it would be fun to make it into a sticker! Dala horses are the unofficial symbol of Sweden, where a large part of my heritage comes from. This sticker reminds me of where I come from, my childhood (I've always had one of these red carved horses) and it brings a kind of whimsy to whatever you choose to place it on. Place it on everything from your laptop to water bottle, car to sketchbook. Wherever it ends up this sticker is will last as it's durable, dishwasher safe, and resistant to scratching, rain, and sunlight.

A unique and elegant Dala Horse - "The Blue Horse". The original was found by the teacher Åberg in Stumsnäs, a town in Sweden, and was probably made in the second half of the 19th century. The newer Blue horses are produced in Dalarna, the heart of Sweden. The pattern has changed over the years. For example, the "flower" in the front disappeared in the 1980s. PLEASE LOOK AT ALL PICTURES AND READ ENTIRE DESCRIPTION BEFORE PURCHASE… Estate item… This listing is for a antique inspired, handmade Dala Horse made in the mid 1900’s. Research has led me to find a small number of Scandinavian artists were recreating a type of painting and style of much older Swedish horses made by artist, Rytter Olof Matsson between 1880 and 1890. For the mid-1900 reproductions, each artist put their own special features and colors and were usually signed/initialed on the belly. It stands approximately 7 inches tall. This item was part of a collection of a man that was not Swedish, but collected horses of all kinds. His collection dated back to the 1940’s. This listing is being sold as is and as found. No cleaning has been done and only dusted with a damp cloth. It looks like the light varnish may have yellowed in spots due to age. Sold as is. Please refer to all pictures for details and dimensions before purchase. If you require more pictures or information, please feel free to contact me. Due to the cost of this item... it will be shipped priority mail with extra insurance and a signature will be required upon delivery from USPS.
