Jeg har aldrig haft den store tålmodighed med patchwork, men det blev da til en smule på hjemmesyede overalls og jakker o.l. i slut-70'erne. Her nogle tidstypiske ærmer i Elsebeth Gynther-stil på en blå velourjakke. Der var 'Land og Folk Festival' i Fælledparken... Et traditionelt håndsyet projekt med sekskanter havde derimod trange kår og ligger stadig i en kasse med uafsluttede håndarbejder. Det ku' jo være... Men for nogle år siden vendte 60'erne, og dermed patchwork, tilbage i modebilledet. Min søn og svigerdatter ønskede sig et sengetæppe med 60'er-stoffer. Det synes jeg kunne være lidt sjovt at gå i gang med efter så mange års pause. Jeg besluttede at tæppet skulle være en gave til svigerdatteren. Som tidligere nævnt, er jeg noget af en samler, så det var ikke svært at finde det meste i gemmerne og resten i stofbutikker. Først skulle der regnes og tegnes. Arkitektspiren (sønnen) havde sine ideer og jeg betingede mig, at jeg kunne bruge min symaskine for at gøre det lidt nemt for mig selv. Det endelige forslag og arbejdspapir fra min hånd. Efterhånden vokser arbejdet og man får en fornemmelse af den endelige virkning. Færdigt arbejde (på egen seng) med lunt foer på bagsiden, som giver tæppet lidt tyngde. Jeg nåede det, svigerdatteren blev glad og patchworktæppet ligger stadig på deres seng. Min mors 'patchwork' Min dygtige, kreative og kunstneriske mor, som ikke magter de finere strikkeprojekter længere, har derfor strikket tæpper i patchworkteknik. På den måde har hun fået udnyttet næsten alle garnrester, også mine ;-) Det er ikke nok med hæklede oldemor-firkanter for hende, hun vil selv kreere... Hun startede med firkanter i forskelllige former og farveforløb, men har siden lavet mere indviklede mønstre. Det er blevet til sekskanter, trekanter, harlekintern m.m. Tæppet hun har strikket til mig, er et af de første. Meget af garnet er mine egne rester af plantefarvet garn fra en fjern fortid. I am so in love with entrelac I can't get it out of my mind. I've dreamed about knitting entrelac every night this week... well what little sleep I've had. It's hard to sleep when you can't make your mind be quiet about your most current love. That and there was a cat licking my eyebrows. Very hard to sleep through that. o.0 Can't sleep. Can't eat. Must Knit. :D I love this knitting technique so much I made a Tutorial for it for any of y'all that aredn't sure what it is and wanna give it a try. :D There is PDF of the tutorial/modified pattern at the end of the post. :D I modified Alison of Freckles & Purls Entrelac Scarf pattern (PDF), with her permission, and will share it with y'all today. Plus a little tutorial I wrote up to go with it. Alison's Pattern is based on 8 stitches per section and came out to 9 inches wide for me when I knit it. Great Pattern, but just a bit too wide for me. I altered the stitch count per section to 6 and now it comes out to 6 inches wide. Whether you use Alison's Original 8 Stitch Pattern or my Modified 6 stitch pattern you will love it. It's a great pattern for anyone new to Entrelac or anyone who just wants a kickass cool entrelac scarf. :D Here is a comparison between Alison's Pattern and my Altered 6 Stitch Pattern. Mine is the smaller one on top. It's the same number of sections. The only thing different is the number of stitches per triangle/square.
