This activity is great for creative writing! I remember doing a mock newspaper as a kid; I thought it was so fun to pretend like I was in that time period or in the book. Writing from the character's POV is a great way to have a mini lesson on tone and mood. This is a good opportunity to also have your students learn about "Show don't tell." They can write from the character's perspective and say a lot about the character's feelings and thoughts by what they write. This is also a nice opportunity for the students to refer back to the book to look for text evidence and support their findings. The writing style and prose will change depending on the book and topic. Enjoy! This product includes two newspapers that ask the students to write from the character's points of views. The creative writing prompts are: 1. King Aslan describes how he became king and his backstory. 2. The professor talks about why he thinks that people should be open to believing. 3. Edmund identifies ways in which he has changed since having this experience in Narnia. 4. The children need your help! Suggest some ideas of where another entrance to Narnia might be hiding! 5. Santa Claus writes about what he was doing while the curse was still affecting Narnia. 6. Mr. Tremnus tells his harrowing tale of meeting with the queen after he betrayed her!
