Hey friends! I took Evidence last semester, and about halfway through the semester, realized there was no way I was going to understand the material unless it was in a chart. I'm not even that big of a chart person, but weirdly enough, it worked for me and Evidence! My friend Hilary introduced me to LucidChart, which is an online program where you can make charts! It gives you tons of options and I loved using the program. I don't really need charts this semester, but I have no doubt I'll need this program in the future, whether it's in law school or out in the real world! Anyway, back to Evidence! Today, I'm uploading ALL my Evidence flow charts in the hope that it will help those of you taking Evidence study and understand the material better. A few disclaimers here, because I am (almost) a lawyer: This is absolutely, 100% not legal advice - it's to help people studying law to get a different view of Evidence. Please do not use these to learn Evidence all by yourself - do the readings for class, work hard, and use these to help yourself learn some of the trickier rules. While I think the flow charts are probably 98% right, I'm human and I'm sure there's a mistake in there somewhere, so if you find a mistake, PLEASE let me know and I'll make changes to the charts! :) I had to upload the pictures in a smaller format, so to make them as big as possible and download them, click on the picture itself and it should take you to the image on it's own page! Expert & Opinion Testimony Rules Habit, Compromise, Plea Deals, Etc. Kalie details how her experience cliff jumping parallels her high-conflict custody battle. Here's how she escaped the deep end!
First and foremost, let me put this out there... I am NOT GIVING ANY KIND OF LEGAL ADVICE. This is just how I helped organize all the court documentation for my friends child custody matters with his ex. I will include links to some of the forms I use to keep track of information to have on hand for court but again, THIS IS NOT LEGAL ADVICE. My friend has an 8 year old daughter and until she's 18 it's a constant child custody battle and keeping track of all the necessary information and paperwork was becoming quite a hassle. I searched "Organizing Child Custody Paperwork" "Maintaining Child Custody Papers" and any other combination or change of phrase there of and found NOTHING. I guess they don't realize just how many families go pro-se, or just want to keep things more organized than just in a box. You can download all the files from DropBox here. Tools: 4" Binder 1-31 Divider Tabs 31 Sheet Protectors 4x6 photo sheet protectors (I like these from Amazon) All Your Documents/Information Print Outs of All the Printables (available below, or make your own) Instructions To begin print off the Divider Pages which also includes the cover page and binder spine for the binder. Once you have them printed place each in a sheet protector and then into your binder in the order you feel would be most helpful to you (this is why there is no Table of Contents because you may not need all the sections or you may have a different order that works best for you). Also, the 1-31 Divider Tabs will come with a TOC sheet you can fill in. I know the number pages are shallower than the sheet protectors, but they're still easy to find since everything else is black and white. 3 hole punch all documents so that they fit neatly in the binder, be careful 3-hole punching originals, I, personally, would only do copies and keep your originals in a box. Once you have all your sections laid out and your pages punched place them in your binder. I have a few sheets that I've built that I find helpful for maintaining information. My Incidents of Contempt, Timeline Summary, Weekly Calendar 10/04-08/22, All my printables are free to download I only ask that you do not sell or steal my work and please leave all copyrights in place. If you would like to share my documents please direct them to my blog, do not re-link. Only 2 years in the court system and this is how thick his binder is. AND this is only the pertinent information, I have hundreds of other sheets that I have scanned in for him using my NeatDesk scanning software & scanner. Just remember, with planning and organization, you CAN do it all.

If you are fighting for custody, the day will come when you will have your final hearing. To truly win custody and prove you are the better parent, you will need to present lots of convincing evidence in court. Sadly, your personal testimony weighs very little with the judge. So what evidence do you need, and how should you show it in court?
