Fun With Curvy Celebrations. Today we share the great suite of products, tons of awesome ideas and some stamping on our Stampin Scoop Show.
It's Breast Cancer Awareness Month, that's what! Time to get our check-ups if we haven't had one recently, be aware of signs, symptoms and what to do! To help raise awareness, I made this little reminder with Stampin' Up!'s wildly popular Curvy Keepsake Box Thinlit Die! (that's quite a title, isn't it!) I used a Heart Framelit to cut out the Melon Mambo DSP, then cut the thin straps with my paper trimmer and adhered all with Mono Multi Liquid Glue (the tape adhesive doesn't hold it well because of the curvy shape of the box). I found this sentiment in the Something to Say set and love it for this theme! The little flower in the front is from the same set. The butterfly is encrusted with Dazzling Diamonds; this combined with the Pearls and flower makes for quite the feminine look! I didn't take a picture of the box back but I made a remembrance "ribbon" out of Melon Mambo cardstock to emphasize the Breast Cancer Awareness theme of the box. Stamps: Something to Say, Papillon Potpourri Inks: Melon Mambo, Basic Black, Pink Pirouette Paper: Melon Mambo print from Brights DSP Stack; Pink Pirouette, Whisper White cardstocks Accessories: Designer Label Punch, flower punch from Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack, Strawberry Slush Baker's Twine, Heart Framelits, Big Shot, Glue Pen, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, Stampin' Sponge. Lynn Starzyl made a box for breast cancer awarenes which inspired me to come up with one of my own. Thanks, Lynn. Remember the special annual October Breast Cancer Project at Splitcoast Stampers of making cards for breast cancer patients at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. You might want to join in this meaningful cause! Thanks for visiting today! Take care of yourself, friends! Margaret Curvy Keepsake Box Thinlits Dies $32.95
GOOD TUESDAY MORNING to you all today! I hope your week is starting of BEAUTIFULLY! I have a few more creations to share with you using the Curvy Keepsake Box Die....I am COMPLETELY ADDICTED to this die! It is SO MUCH FUN and has SO MANY POSSIBILITIES! First I have my candy corn! Very simple to make! Just cut out two Curvy Keepsake Box pieces in Very Vanilla, two in an orange color (I used Tangelo Twist) and two in a yellow (I used Hello Honey). It's best to use designer paper for your layers...I know this because I tried to use cardstock...but it was WAY TO THICK...and wouldn't fold right...and looked TERRIBLE! The sentiment is from the stamp set That's the ticket! My nine year old daughter, Kathryn, is IN LOVE with horses! She has that blood....her dad grew up with horses and was a team roper for awhile....but that third child coming along was the end to us having horses. She desperately wants her own horse...so I made this for her! I used the Extra Large Oval punch and the Owl Builder punch for the head, the ears are made with the Sweetheart punch (just cut it in half). The eyes are from the Owl Builder punch (you can also use the 1/2" and 1/4" circle punches)...Candy Dots for inside of circles from the 1/4" punch for the nostrils. The stamped image is from the new YEE-HAW stamp set....it is so dog gone cute! The face of my cow is made with the Extra Large Oval punch, the spots all around the cow, the horns and the eyes are all made with the Owl Builder punch, the nose is made with the Large Oval punch...which I punched out in Pink Pirouette and then punched again to make it smaller. The small oval punch is just too small. The ears are made with the Pansy punch...I punched out one petal and cut it in half. The cow bell is made with the square charm that is part of the Curvy Keepsake Box Die that I made the body out of. I trimmed it to look like a cow bell. On both the cow and the horse...I cut an extra Extra Large Oval out so that I could back the faces with...that way they look good from the back too! I also have the WEEKLY DEALS for you! Thanks bunches for stopping by today! I hope you feel inspired! I'd LOVE to hear what you think...so leave a comment if you have a moment! Have a wonderful day and REMEMBER....

Hello and welcome back.... I so love Spring, seeing all the lambs in the fields and we do have rather a lot here in Wales....lol, so I thought I would make a Lamb Curvy Keepsake Box. Aren't they just adorable, now a lot of the punches I used to use to do my punch art are no longer available so its always a struggle to find something to replace them with but I think I have done really well with theses adorable lambs. The fluffy tufts on their heads are the smallest flower die from the Bloomin' Heart Framelits with the tiny flower from the Tree builder punch in the middle...cute huh. The ears are from the Pyramid Pals Thinlits dies and the head is a 2" circle punched out of Basic Black card and then cut down either side. The eyes are the 1/4" and 1/8" circle punches. I cut the box pieces out of Thick Whisper White Card and stamped them with the curly stamp from the Playful Pals stamp set, then I assembled the boxes and stuck the finished head on to the box with dimensionals. On the back of the box I added a little tail, made with one of the dies from the Pyramid Pals Thinlits Die set. So very cute... Welcome to Birdwing Paper Designs and the Stampin’ Up! Artisan Design Team blog hop! Today we are offering a sneak peek into a new promotion from the upcoming January-June 2021 Mini Catalogue…
WOW!!! I am IN LOVE with the new Curvy Keepsake Box Thinlits Die in the new Holiday Catalog! I just can't stop making things with it....and I have so many other things I should be doing...need to be doing! Like getting ready for my workshops that are coming up, working on some SWAP cards, doing a little scrapbooking...BUT NO!!!! I AM COMPLETELY OBSESSED and here is why! Could this apple be any cuter! I added some leaves from the Bird Builder Punch and the ABC's are made with the Little Letters Thinlits Die. For the pig you simple use your circle punches! The nostrils are made with Basic Pearls that I colored with my Blendabilities and the pupil of the eyes are candy dots! A basic pumpkin...but wouldn't it be a beautiful at each setting on your Thanksgiving table. The sentiment is from the For All Things stampset and the leaves are stamped in VersaMark with the Fall Fest stampset and then cut with the Fun Fall Framelits Dies. The turkey just might be my favorite. I used the Feathers framelits to cut out three colors of leaves....Cajun Craze, Blackberry Bliss and Hello Honey. I used the triangle punch to make the nose and the heart punch for the wattle. Again I used candy dots for the pupils of the eyes. The sentiment is from the Gratitude For Days stamp set and the acorn is from the Autumn Wooden Elements set. As an afterthought...I should have dry embossed the feathers! Wouldn't this Jack-O-Lantern be cute to give to the students in your kids classroom? I think my nine year will be able to make them herself. She already knows how to use my Big Shot...I just need to teach her how to heat emboss that ghost which is from the Fall Fest stamp set and cut out with the Fun Fall Framelits Dies. The BOO is stamped with the Blockhead Letters stamp set. This Christmas ornament is so nice....kind of elegant with all the shine and glitter! The JOY is from the Trendy Trims stamp set. I heat embossed it with silver embossing powder. I then cut it out with the oval ornament in the Curvy Keepsake Box Thinlits die and I cut another out of a scrap piece of Silver Foil Sheet! I then added a new embellishment from the Holiday Catalog....All Is Calm Snowflakes. I still have in the works...a reindeer, a horse, a cow, a chicken...and wouldn't a baseball, basketball, tennis or bowling ball be cute! I have to put it AWAY for a few days...and get busy with some other projects...but STAY TUNED! There's more to come!!
In Hawaii, we celebrate Hinamatsuri, or Girls Day. How adorable are these little “paper dolls” made with the Curvy Keepsake box?
It's always a delight to receive orders for my handmade products especially at Christmas. These curvy keepsake boxes were made for one (large!) family so I thought I would make several designs so that people could "ohh" and "ahh" over what everyone else received. Making multiple designs also keeps the fun in the craft and doesn't let it get to be a tedious production line. The design possibilities are endless but keep in mind when making them in bulk that you want to keep things interesting for you and not overly labour intensive. These are full size curvy keepsake boxes (heartbreakingly now retired), but you could easily adapt them to fit the mini curvy keepsake dies. The first design is simple but effective and uses designer series paper for the interior panels. I made 5 in one paper and 5 in another. The second design was the most time consuming but the ones I enjoyed making the most because I got to sit and colour with Blends for a couple of hours. Are't the little Christmas gnomes from Gnome for the Holidays just the cutest? On the back I stamped a sentiment from the stamp set, Holly Jolly Everything. For the third design I pulled out the heat tool and embossing powder to add some festive reindeer, from the Festive Post stamp set, onto the Shaded Spruce cardstock. I finished these off with some cute little Jingle Bells. Which is your favourite design? I just love the Curvy Keepsake Box Die! Isn't this pretty in Daffodil Delight? Such a gorgeous yellow! This sweet box is going to be a gift for each person who attends my classes this month. The loose flower on top is Whisper White card stock punched with the Pansy Punch and sponged with Daffodil Delight ink.
