Long time no post right??! I always have the best of intentions to stamp and post at least a few projects around Christmas but it seems that as soon as my out of town family arrives for Christmas week all good intentions are thrown out of the window! I could have snuck away a few times to the stamp room but then I feel guilty lol! I do have a card to share that I did make before they arrived but I just forgot to post it! The Global Design Project has had a challenge going for the last 2 weeks and it's just about to end so I guess I'll get it shared before it's too late. It's a pretty color combo and works well with some of my new stamps and looking ahead to spring! I'm using Daffodil Delight, Pool Party and Petal Pink. I pulled the background DSP from the new Lighter than Air DSP and then created a long narrow panel with the Perennial Postage dies. I love the postage edge details these dies create. The flower stamp is in the new Hooray for Surprises stamp set and I just stamped it in each of the challenge colors as well as a smaller flower then die cut them with the coordinating Hooray for Surprises dies. The smaller flowers in the centers are popped on mini dimensionals and accented with retired opaque adhesive-backed gems. The sentiment is stamped in Basic Gray and cut out with the Perennial Postage dies. A bit of Petal Pink ribbon from the Ribbon Duo combo pack is adhered behind the sentiment and then popped on dimensionals. Finally a few Sale-a-Bration (SAB) reward Opaque Faceted Gems are added to the long panel to finish this design. Current products used to make this card can be purchased in my ONLINE STORE. Welcome to the first As You See It challenge of 2024. I hope you have all enjoyed a happy holiday season and are looking forward to an exciting new year. Our team leader, Heather C, kicks off the year with a sketch challenge. Isn't it lovely? I thought the sketch would be a good way to show off the very sweet hidden message from the new Hooray for Surprises bundle from the January-April 2024 Mini Catalogue. I turned the sketch on the side to accommodate the hidden sentiment. The sweet little cakes with their floral decorations are also from the stamp set. When the tab is pulled up, the perforations tear and allow the recipient to see the hidden message. Cute, isn't it? If you'd like to see how I made this card, here is video tutorial for you. I love creating interactive cards to send out. The new Hooray For Surprises Bundle, available starting tomorrow (Thursday, January 4) in the new Mini Catalog, is perfect for creating these types of cards as the dies creating perforated tabs that can be pulled up to reveal a message/image. I used the bundle to make this bright, cheery card to congratulate one of my Team Members on her sales recently. Uses Hooray For Surprises Photopolymer Stamp Set plus Poppy Parade Cardstock, Poppy Parade Classic Stampin' Pad, Daffodil Delight Cardstock, Daffodil Delight Classic Stampin' Pad, Pool Party Classic Stampin' Pad, Basic White...
If you stamp a lot of cards 'just because' (as in you don't have to get them in the mail TODAY) and don't necessarily have a need for them immediately you might have bins and bins full cards just like me! But no matter how many cards I do have already stamped I tend to run low on birthday cards the most so I really have to make an effort to be sure to create birthday cards regularly so I have enough! I used the current color challenge at Just Us Girls to inspire me for just such a card. I think these colors can easily run to masculine but the way my card turned out I think it can be for either a man or a woman. Since the cake image is on the small side I kept the rest of the card clean and simple so it wouldn't get lost! The challenge colors are teal, navy and green. I translated those into the Stampin' Up! colors of Coastal Cabana, Night of Navy and Granny Apple Green. The card base is Basic White thick, then a layer of Basic White embossed with the Sale-a-Bration (SAB) product Softly Sophisticated embossing folder. I had a Stitched Rectangle in my orphaned card parts bin so I decided to use that as a base for my cake. I stamped the cake from the Hooray for Surprises stamp set once in each of my colors and then fussy cut the layers and adhered them onto the rectangle. I added a candle in Night of Navy for good measure. The flame is made by coloring the stamped with my Daffodil Delight and Coastal Cabana marker. I backed the white rectangle with a layer of Night of Navy. And popped it on dimensionals. I wanted a small narrow sentiment to not overwhelm the smaller image and I had to search my sets to find one that was just right and I found it in the Sweet Songbirds stamp set. It's stamped in Night of Navy ink on Coastal Cabana cardstock. I used some retired Enamel Dot Essentials in Night of Navy to accent each corner of the rectangle panel. I've had so much fun designing these Hooray For Surprises card with the Forever Love Designer Series Paper for my Birthday Stamp Camp! This bundle allows the cards to be interactive with secret messages. Make a Wish card with a secret message behind the circle! Light a genie, you get a wish with each candle! This is a great way to send some extra love for a Birthday or for no reason at all! \ I love the extra pull tab idea! This card used some premade cardbases, which made for a quick card! Some gold embossing and great dies and you have one amazing card! This card was my favorite, hands down! All the layers and the secret message! Yes, please! Hello Peeps !!! Happy Tuesday !!! I decided to play today on Splitcoast's CC982- color challenge Soft Sea Foam, Bubble Bath and Pool Party. I used the stamp set- Hooray for Surprises. I used the Everyday Details Dies for my frame and for my sentiment. The big flower was stamped in Bubble Bath ink and the rest of my flowers and leaves were die cuts. Hope you like it.
