This post is for advanced soap makers who have experience in Crock-Pot hot process and know how to safely work with lye. Mix oil and lye solution with a stick blender until just before a thick trace and add 2 teaspoons of turmeric powder (previously diluted in 1 tablespoon of warm water). The soap scrap to new soap ratio is up to 1:2.5 -- that's the weight of soap scraps to the weight of new soaping oils. It can also be calculated as soap scraps being up to a maximum of 40% of the weight of the oils in the new batch. How much liquid you use to make the lye solution is up to you, but I'd advise not to water discount too much. I use a ratio of 1:2 lye to distilled water but you may wish to use more water.
