These wrist warmers are super simple to make! You literally only need to know how to knit the basic stitch. That is it, well also to cast on and bind off (or you can get someone to do this for you). So this project I probably started maybe 5-7 years ago, and somehow it ended...

Hello, how are you today? Welcome to our blog About Crochet. We hope you are very well and looking forward to a new Free Crochet Pattern or Tutorial.
The pattern contains two sizes of the Dreambird, one for women and another one for little girls. INCLUDED are TRADITIONAL row by row descriptions for both sizes and DIAGRAMS for those who prefer a visual approach. The OPTIONAL written instructions are meant for those of you who want explanations or are interested in how I approached the project. The step photos for the Minibird although different in numbers are also a support while you are in the knitting process. The different approaches work independently from each other; so if the wording bothers you just leave it aside. It is essential though to read the general part about short rows if you are not familiar with them. The coloring has been completely achieved by short rows. It is also possible to use all three approaches as a support. The English version has been tech edited by MHM. So if you are interested in the pattern don’t let yourself get confused by the first part of the former KAL or older notes on projects’ pages. They basically refer to times where there was neither a row by row description nor a diagram but only a written pattern. All issues should have been resolved. The French translation was made by Christine73. The Dutch translation was made by Ima. The Swedish translation was made by Brittica The Danish translation was made by RieKrogh Errata for Danish translation, page 16, row by row: 71 luk de første 10m af, strik til enden, slå 25 nye m op (130) Spring over 01, og fortsæt med 02 Slut sidste fjer efter pind 28, og hækl en kant i fjergarn tilbage langs halskanten. The Italian translation was made by Lucietta85 The Finnish translation was made by HeidiKoo “Suomalaisessa ohjeessa, kohdassa Malli kerros kerrokselta, on virheitä muutamalla rivillä: Riveillä 5,7,9,11 ja 13 pitäisi lukea “K 45” (ei K 35) sekä rivillä 31 pitäisi lukea “Neulo loppuun (4 s)” (ei Neulo loppuun (3 s))” The rich coloring of birds is something wonderful and I felt I wanted to express this in knitting. I had the Kingfisher before my eyes when I did this but there are no limits of what you can do, hence the name Dreambird! Dreambird looks more complicated than it is. When you strictly follow the instructions for the first feather the following ones will be a walk in the park! The shaping is done by short rows and I explained everything in detail so that you don’t need to be an advanced knitter to knit this piece. As in the wingspan, the drive of the shawl is attained by offset triangles. Additional elements transform the triangles to feathers. Maylin, the creator of the Wingspan, authorized this version before I even started knitting. You can knit the feathers with a yarn of rather long color changes or use up your stash, it is up to you! The fluffy Kid Mohair in the background emphasizes the feathers.

For size reference, the size photographed on me is a size UK 8 / EU 36 / US 4 / AU 8 SIZE CHART here: https://tintofmintpatterns.com/size-guide/ How to measure? BUST- Measure the circumference of your chest. Place one end of the tape measure at the fullest part of your bust, wrap it around (under your armpits, around your shoulder blades, and back to the front) to get the measurement. WAIST- Measure the circumference of your waist. Use the tape to circle your waist (sort of like a belt would) at your natural waistline, which is located above your belly button and below your rib cage. HIPS- Measure the circumference of your hips. Start at one hip and wrap the tape measure around your rear, around the other hip, and back to where you started. Make sure the tape is over the largest part of your buttocks. Because making sure the tape is level back there can be hard, try to do it in front of a mirror. I would love to see your finished pieces so, please use the hashtag #tintofmintPATTERNS so I can check out your work! *Please note, that the pattern instructions are written in English only.*
