"Tango Garden" 2012, by Jean Wells Keenan The Small Wonders Challenge is a relatively new part of the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show. It's been going on for a couple years now, and seems pretty popular. This year, there were at least 58 entries - that's how many there were on the Facebook page - although there may have been a few others. There was a reception at the end of May, and winners of five out of six awards were announced. Best Use of Color went to "Tango Garden" by Jean Wells Keenan, owner of the Stitchin' Post and inductee in the Quilter's Hall of Fame. The quilts went up for sale just this past week, and I'm buying this quilt. I've wanted to own one of Jean's quilts ever since I met her a few years ago, and I'm just thrilled about this one! Here are the other winners announced at the reception. The front piece of acrylic is laser cut with your address, behind this a white frosted acrylic that allows the light to shine through.
