I'm not going to exhibit any false bravado; this makes me extremely uncomfortable. The word on wacky tacky is out and people are now...
Well, in my 14 years at Zamo we never had rain to contend with during our Celebration of Art festivities... until last night, that is. I m...
Welcome dear needlefolk friends! This week has been very challenging after the passing of our loyal laddy Winston...the farmhouse is so horribly quiet! However, I was so touched by all the warm and caring comments that were left in respect to his passing...please know that each and every one was greatly appreciated! I'm so blessed to have such caring friends...LOVE YOU ALL! I was even gifted with this beautiful bouquet of flowers on Saturday from a local stitching friend...thank you Dana! And, my spirits were lifted by this sweet doggy sympathy card send in the mail...thank you LaNelle! Just today, my husband was searching the internet for Scottie pups...not sure what will come of that? But, I'll keep you all posted if a new king will take the throne of our farmhouse! ☙♥❧ Early Maiden Workbasket Club Update... (click on image to become a member) Yes, the time is quickly approaching for the first club kit release! During my afternoon quiet time, I've been gathering my thoughts, and planning out all the details... Now, I just need to get those thoughts designed and ready to start stitching the model! I'm sure it will take a few more cups of my favorite coffee & tea before things all come together and meet my final approval! ☙♥❧ My mind loves to wander like crazy once I'm in bed and just can't seem to shut down...my bedside notepad is a must have to jot down those random thoughts! Lately my mind keeps focusing on cleaning, organizing, and de~cluttering! Deciding on what to keep and what to let go of! So many things inherited, so many things acquired...equals too much stuff! Little by little, the cleaning has begun, and it is such a liberating feeling! ☙♥❧ My blog wouldn't be complete without a few of our weekend country pics... Love this old shed nestled in the valley surrounded with a blanket of snow! Beef cattle enjoying some hay! ☙♥❧ Farm Shop Will Be Open On Saturday 10:00 ~ 3:00 Our Farm Shop is located at ~ W4253 County Road B West Salem, Wisconsin 54669 (608) 799~4418 Please don't hesitate to call if Saturday doesn't work for you...always happy to accommodate! ☙♥❧ Weekend Soul Food... But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. Matthew 6:6...KJV ☙♥❧ Wishing you a wonderful weekend, filled with contentment as we share the love of our needles! Kindly, Tammy
I made these "light houses" from used milk boxes. The little secret is that you have to make many little openings so the plastic inside will not be burned.
Last week there was a lot of noise outdoors : it turned out to be the noise of a chainsaw (which makes me nervous most of the time) Some man were busy on the little island right on the other side of the water next to our garden. I looked in terror : Would they really ? ........ Noooo ! the gorgeous weeping willows In a devastating trapeze act the man were decimating the two trees untill ... there were only two pitiful remnants instead of two majestic trees ( "it will be for the best" the Parks Department will probably say ... yuk !) This tiny creature gave me more fun : Lissotriton vulgaris (a newt) he (or she) was hiding with another sibling and mum under the geraniums (but the picture of the three of them wasn't sharp enough) * And indoors the stitching on the sunny heart piece went on and on ... After all the "sun rays" were there (in rainbow colours) the magic thread was stitched in place. Which left me only with the invisible basting of the backside which I did today ! "A warm heart" will be send of to France tomorrow to a very dear friend (and namesake)
Though many men struggle to admit it: relationships are important. Like, super important. And not just finding a long-term partner, but a sense of intimacy across all of one's life and activities.

Nalbinding is a Scandinavian fabric-making technique which pre-dates knitting. Learn about nalbinding pattern directions, and how to make York and Oslo stitches.
I have some fancy folding for you today - 3-D Celtic Knot Embellishments. They look great in gold glimmer paper. The knots look impressively intricate - but you can learn to fold them with just a little practice. The basic knot shape is of one-piece construction, which is convenient --- and a nice party trick! All the knots work on the same principle: fold the "arms" to the centre, then swing the free side to the back. You can catch a hoop in the loops for an extra-fancy touch - loop-de-loop deluxe. Print the Celtic Knots template onto the wrong side of the paper, then cut and fold. There are tutorials for each shape of knot. There's also a download for a bag topper. The idea is that a cello pack of Celtic Knot embellishments would make a welcome gift for a calligrapher or card-maker: 3-D illuminated manuscripts! Fix the knots onto your project with sticky dots. Here are your downloads: CelticKnots.pdf CelticKnotBagTopper.pdf I've done tutorial sheets for the three knot shapes - the squares, the trefoils, and the hearts: If you'd like to learn how to design your own 2-dimensional Celtic Knots, these books by Sheila Sturrock are great: Celtic Knotwork Handbook Celtic Spirals Handbook Both books are from GMC Publications Ltd. Neither title is new - but they are worth tracking down. The first title is available used and new, the second is still in print. Each title de-mystifies the process of drawing Celtic Knots in a clear and user-friendly manner - and throws in a bit of history to boot. The books are intended for pencil-drawing, but if you've gone digital than the geometric principles still apply, of course. Have fun illuminating your manuscripts, gifts, or cards.

During winter we don't have so many outdoor activities because temperatures here are constantly below zero. But luckily there are tons of winter crafts and arts activities to make with kids and have cold winter days amusing. I especially love seasonal Waldorf activities inspired by nature, followed by Waldorf books that are helping us understand
