I created some notebook labels for my four year old son to work on each day in his notebook! We have been doing a page or two each day and he has been loving it! I cut out all of the labels and arranged them randomly in the notebook so that we have a fun new prompt to respond to each day. My son is phenomenal speller and writer so I always challenge him to label what he has drawn. If you have older kids doing this, you can have them add a sentence or two! Sometimes we go out of order. He flips to a prompt he likes and he works on that one for the day! If this looks like something your child might enjoy, please click here to grab these labels! I hope these are helpful!

Good morning cute people! I wanted to show you the notebook cover that I designed for Quilts and More magazine:) I designed the notebook with Kassidy in mind… she loves a cute notebook for school and she likes to switch them up often. It's in the spring issue and is on the stands now! I was asked to participate in the Scrap Lab Challenge along with the amazing Carrie of Miss Rosie Quilt Co. and Patty Young of ModKid They also asked if they could use some FQ's from my Gracie Girl collection to design with. Patty designed an adorable skirt and Carrie designed the cutest bag! I've want to sew both of them too:) My simple notebook cover has a pocket on the inside front cover... and the inside back cover… there is plenty of room for stashing notes and homework sheets ...etc. The outside has a pocket as well… perfect for pens, pencils and of course a cell phone. The cover can easily be slipped off when the notebook is full and it can be washed if it gets dirty. It was so much fun designing this simple little project for such a fabulous magazine:) If you want to make one (or two) of your own… CLICK HERE to go to All People Quilt… and download the pattern. I love their website:) Have a quilty kind of day! xx Lori
Friends~I finally figured it out-2 for 1 composition books! I have been loving the composition books that have been cut in half recently. I have seen them on several blogs and I have gone to Lowes and Home Depot as suggested to have my 12 books cut in half so that I had 24 smaller books. Doubling my lot! (The kiddos never use a whole page anyway:) Here's my journey for the 2 for 1! I first made several trips to Lowes and Home Depot but they left me defeated. Don't get me wrong the guys that helped me and tried to cut the books were super kind but their saws ate, destroyed, tore, and mangled my books. After the loss of my 2nd book the man at Home Depot suggested that I try Office Max. Look-ie, Look-ie! It was less than $3 to have these 2 for 1 babies cut! Office Max can cut around 8 at a time. I am so super excited about it! Check out my labels below for the front of the books. I am using one for my calendar journals and one for spelling. You can download the labels that I plan to use on the covers for My Calendar Journals next school year by clicking the images below. If you do so, I would love for you to leave a comment and follow my blog so you don't miss any Back to School Freebies!
