Let me begin by saying I Don't Sew. Not a stitch. So it's kind of funny that I've become obsessed with making quilt cards, but that's how it is. #tictactoechallenge #tttc219 I've made a dozen of these cards so far and I'm not done yet. They are a little tedious, but totally addictive! I love going through all of my designer papers and choosing colors & patterns to mix together. Each card starts with at least two 1-1/2" squares of designer paper. Each square gets cut into 8 triangles-like this: #1 - Line up the squares on the cutting track of your paper trimmer to make the first cut. I hold them in place with Post-It Note Tape. Photo #2 shows the squares after the first cut. Continue cutting each triangle as shown in photo #3. Repeat until you have 8 triangles (photo #4). Assembly: Each square is assembled on a 1-1/2" square of Basic White cardstock. Attach 4 triangles in the pattern shown, using a little liquid glue. To make this design, you will make 4 identical 1-1/2" squares as shown in the tutorial. Cut a 3" square of Basic White cardstock and adhere the 4 squares to it with the edges butted together. For this star design, you'll adhere one completed square to the center of the 3" square of Basic White and arrange 8 more triangles around the center square. The magic happens when you emboss it! I love this embossing folder, it adds so much texture to this project. The layer behind the quilt square is a 3-1/4" square in a coordinating color of your choice. The white layer behind that is a 3-3/4" square, also embossed. The last layer is a 4" square in a coordinating color. The sewing machine is stamped in Gray Granite, one of my favorite neutral colors. The strip of fabric in the machine is 1/2" wide, angled on both ends. This one is decorated a little differently with the basket of threads and scissors. These are all included in the Crafting With You dies. Hi There and thanks so much for stopping by today. I have a fun project to share with you. I used the Dino Days stamp set and have been doing some simple stamping (with a few layers). While I love layers and embellishments, I wanted to strip it all back and focus on stamps, ink, paper! Here is the project; The stamped piece is 14.2x9.8cm and the intermediate layer (Granny Apply Green) is 14.4x10cm and the card base is Night of Navy. I stamped the dinosaurs in Terracotta Tile, Night of Navy, Mango Melody and Granny Apple Green with the spikes and sentiment in Memento Black and the other patterns in Basic Grey. This is such a cool stamp set and its Photopolymer so you can see through and line up the images. As mentioned, this card is just stamps, ink and paper. No embellishments, no dies, no ribbon or washi. Its such a fun way to create something beautiful. I have even created a video for you to show you just how easy it is to make this card today! Hello there, I am sorry for the delay in blogging this last week I had technical issues, then I managed to lose my phone *twice*, well left it behind in London the first time... anyway rest assured I am not going back to my bad blogging habits :), it was just a blip. My gorgeous sister and her family have recently moved into a new home. Such an exciting time for them all, especially as they have waited an age for the right house to come up in their desired location close enough to London and their work. But by the grace of God everything worked out for them and the absolute best house is now their happy place :) And of course, I couldn't wait to make them a New Home card. Plus I had the PERFECT set, well bundle to get that job done :) I am of course talking about the At Home With You bundle. If you follow me on Instagram you will have seen this card last week. I recently started, ( well I posted twice so far LOL) posting to Instagram even though I had the account for yonks. I never started it properly, so I am dipping my toes in the water. Of course *One* has to get down with the "insta worthy pics" so if you think what's up with her trying so hard all of a sudden??? you now know why LOL Instagram is about all things beautiful and careful considered photos, so I am trying to find a style I can keep consistent going forward, oh Lordy hope it lasts. I used the framelits and some of the fabulous Wood Textures to cut the door, have you seen how cool that door it? it has a score line so you can actually open the door and pop things behind. Very cool. Of course the Brick Wall embossing folder was perfect as a textured background layer, you can get yours HERE . For the wreath and flower pots I stamped them black first then coloured the flowers using the New In Colour markers for 2017-2019 from Stampin'Up! What do you think, loving this particular bundle? I just love this new bundle - Spotlight on Nature! The dies, that nest so well, are just gorgeous! And, if you like to color, and fussy cut, the stamps will fit the bill as well! I chose the new InColor, Summer Splash, for this Monochromatic card. It has so many possibilities, in so many colors! Measurements: Summer Splash (N) 1/4 sheet Basic White: 5 1/4" x 8 1/8", 3 1/2" circle InColor Glimmer Paper (N): 3/8" x 5 1/4" Summer Splash Unbounded Beauty DSP (N): 1 1/8" x 5 1/4" (front), 1/2" x 5 1/4" (inside) (Summer Splash Watercolor) To Make This Card: Attach folded White card to Summer Splash base. Attach DSP next to crease, and Glimmer paper beside, or a little on, as desired. Stamp "flowers" in Memento Ink onto square of White. Die cut with die shown. Color "flowers" with Summer Splash Blends, and leaves in Lemon Lime Twist. Add Wink of Stella to the "flowers". Attach circle to card front with Dimensionals. Stamp sentiment in Summer Splash in lower right corner. Attach DSP strip to the inside. Finish with a knot of Summer Splash ribbon and scattered Shimmer Gems in Summer Splash. Last night on my fb live I made a couple of easy cards using a great layout, when I uploaded it to fb some people said the audio was very quiet and so I wanted to remake the video. I used the Bloom where you're planted DSP today and a Garden Green card base. This is a quick and easy card to make and a fun one to use leftover scraps of DSP too.
