Classic cardigan with a very feminine silhouette and relaxed fit. Dropped shoulders and v-neck. Boxy sleeves with decreases for a balloon effect. Knitted in a blown yarn for a soft and drapery but thick effect. The model in the picture is 169 cm tall and wears a size 2. LEVEL Intermediate (2/3) YARN 8 (9, 10, 11) (12, 13, 14, 15) skeins of Snefnug by Camarose (55% Baby alpaca, 35% organic cotton and 10% merino) (50g = 110 m / 120 yards). 5 (5, 6, 6) (7, 7, 8, 9) skeins of Kidsilk Lace Gregoria Fibers (25g = 210 m / 230 yards/) (73% superkid mohair, 27% silk). The cardigan is worked holding two strands of yarn together (one of Kidsilk Lace and one of Snefnug). For the sample we used one strand of Kidsilk Lace in colourway “Mauve” and one strand of Snefnug in colourway “7105 Chokoladel”. NEEDLES US 8 / 5 mm circular needles, cable length 32 or 40” (80 or 100 cm) for stockinette stitch. US 6 / 4 mm circular needles, cable length 16 or 24” (40 or 60 cm) for the ribbing. In a world of hustle and bustle, silence seems like a reduction in man- made noise: no car engines or buses or motorbikes, no horns or music blaring, no screaming children or adults, no loud talking on cell phones. When these are all reduced we say that it is quiet when actually there are probably still a lot of sounds around: insects buzzing, birds singing, wind blowing, rain splattering, waves crashing. We often find these sounds soothing and relaxing. Whether in the midst of man-made or natural sounds, the sounds most difficult to block out are those within our own minds. For many of us there is a running commentary continuously playing in our head and this is the most difficult place to find silence. And yet there is no true silence without the ability to interrupt the monologue in our mind. In this quilt I have attempted to convey the idea of inner silence. The bohdi leaf represents the spirit which is floating noiselessly on the surface of a pond, perhaps a meditation image to focus on when seeking inner silence.
This quilted wallhanging, demonstrates how careful choice of colour and applying the rules followed in photography can produced a work of art, which many would be happy to capture as a photography. Very slight cropping to straighten the lopsided hanging, and enhancement of hue and saturation to recreate the colours which were slightly washed out under the lighting. Not made by me, but unfortunately did not think to make of note of who did make it.

"This crochet blanket with a woven look is so much fun to make in a unique stitch. This stitch may look difficult but only uses single, double and chain stitches used in combination. The unique placement of the dropped double crochets into skipped stitches from the previous row gives this stitch its woven appearance. The colorwork technique of using two strands of yarn for different rows also creates this unique look. And don’t worry you won’t have a ton of ends to weave in either! You drop and pick up the yarn strands as you need them - yay! I have a complete photo and video tutorial for the Interlocking Arched Columns stitch used in this blanket to help you as well."

FISHERMAN’S RAGLAN is a rustic raglan-style sweater with relaxed fit and a beautiful, subtle textured stitch panel featuring small herringbone stitch ‘braids’ on front of the sweater and matching decorative raglan-braids. The sweater is knitted from the bottom up in the round, starting with a 2x2 ribbing that flows into the braids on front of the body. The sleeves are knitted separately in stockinette stitch and then joined with the body on a long circular needle. The sweater is then shaped using raglan decreases on each side of the raglan-braids, whilst continuing the pattern on front of the sweater. Subsequently, the neck is shaped with German short rows while continuing the pattern and working raglan decreases at the same time. The turtleneck is worked once again in 2x2 ribbing, with knit stitches flowing out of the ‘braids’ in the pattern just like at the bottom of the body. Please choose a size 10-15 cm larger than your actual chest circumference. For reference: the sample in the photo is in size 2 with 11 cm positive ease.Finished measurementsChest circumference :86 (95) 105 (110) 114 (124) 133 (143) 152 cmYarnWooldreamers Manchelopis, 100 g ~ 230 m - please note that Manchelopis, unlike most other unspun yarn, comes already double stranded so you can knit straight from the plate.Wooldreamers Manchelopis - natural dark grey (Gris MedioNatural) ~ 280 (325) 375 (415) 445 (515) 580 (655) 735 g.Yarn SubstitutesTwo strands of Höner och Eir Nutiden ~ 310 (360) 420 (450) 500 (575) 650 (740) 825 g, Istex Plötulopi ~ 325 (380) 445 (485) 525 (610) 685 (780) 875 g or any other unspun yarn.
