Hello Little Birdie Crafts fans! I am thrilled to be back with my second post as a guest designer for Little Birdie. If you missed my first post, a step card tutorial, you can view it here. Today I am sharing a heritage layout with you AND a tutorial where I'll show you how to make this layout and the floral vine. A Vintage Style Layout I am using a vintage photo taken in the early 1940's during WW II on this layout. Vintage layouts are some of my favorites. To achieve a vintage look, think muted colors, browns, creams, the softer color palette. Torn edges and papers add an authentic look. I always think to myself, what would something look like if it had been created 50 years ago and had been handled by many people? The edges would be ragged, perhaps a few tears and stains, these looks characterize the vintage look. Tutorial Step 1: I like to save every scrap of paper that I can, so when you see a paper on top of another paper, you can believe that I have cut the center out of the back paper! So for the first layer, trim a 1" frame from a 12" x 12" paper. Step 2: For the next layer, trim a 12 x 12 paper to 11 ¾" x 11 ¾" and distress the edges. Then use the Script Stencil to stencil on some words. Step 3: Tear contrasting strips of paper and layer as shown in the photo below. Step 4: Now let's make a floral vine to use on our layout. Take 5 small wire stemmed roses and twist 3 roses together. Next, twist two roses together. Now glue the two sets of roses together as shown in the photo. You can twist the ends of the two sets together. Step 5: Glue some greenery from the flowers along the wire stems. Step 6: Select 3 larger flowers to use in the center. Trim away excess cardboard so that it doesn't show beneath the flowers. There you have a pretty vine that will look lovely on your layout! Step 7: Add the floral vine to one side of the photo and arrange more flowers on the opposing side. Now add a title and any other embellishments you like. Now you have a beautiful keepsake heritage layout. Thank you for joining me a Little Birdie Crafts today! Всем солнышка, тепла и настоящей весны! Привет! В Москве снег, а для меня это просто шок! В МАЕ - СНЕГ!!! Кто там делает погоду, вы что с ума посходили??? Слава кроподайлам у нас всего лишь дождь, ветер и небольшое похолодание! Бегаю в огород, слежу за помидорками и баклажанами. Но они бодрячком! Кажется им так даже больше нравится, чем жара. Огурцы правда затаились и не всходят... Зато горошек и фасоль повылезали! Сегодня покажу очередную страничку. Делала ее как приглашенный дизайнер в блоге Scrapki-wyzwaniowo. Пару раз в году я выигрываю в их челленджах и меня приглашают сделать работу к текущему заданию. В этот раз я делала работу для задания следующего месяца, что было очень приятно, я даже почувствовала себя членом ДК :)))) Тема челленджа "Книжные страницы". Сначала хотела сделать артбук или разворот в арт-журнал, но что-то ничего стоящего в голову не шло... А тут вышло задание в блоге Cute Cut "Мастер и Маргарита", и как же я обрадовалась! Это же моя самая-пресамая любимая книга!!! Я прям обожаю ее. Вот стоит даже случайно открыть на любой странице, и все... я пропала... читаю до конца :)))) The theme of the new challenge Scrapki-wyzwaniowo. was very inspiring to me. Because I love to read books. In childhood I read all the books that we had at home. When I was out of books at home I went to the library, but then suddenly the Internet came into our lives. Now I almost don't read paper books... except a few favourites. One of them is the "Master and Margarita" by Mikhail Bulgakov. I made a layout associated with this book. I used paper from Fortune-teller collection from 7 Dots Studio. Вот сейчас думаю, что же сподвигло на такую палитру, фотографию и раскладку... Я НЕ ЗНАЮ!!! Оно само так захотело! Магия книги не иначе :))) Не все принимают это произведение, некоторым трудно осилить даже несколько страниц, или пугает содержание. А для меня это как яркая и светлая, местами смешная сказка. Вполне возможно все это нашло отражение в страничке. Фон, картинки, надписи бумага 7 Dots, коллекция Fortune-teller. Вырезала глобус и обмотала его медной проволокой, предварительно нанизав несколько бисерин. Cut out a globe and wrapped it with copper wire, pre-strung a few beads. Печатная машинка, символизирующая Мастера. The typewriter symbolizes the Master. Кот - Бегемот. Немного не в фокусе, но вы же знаете какой он проказник :))) Желтые цветы несла Маргарита в день первой встречи с Мастером. Да, это была мимоза, я знаю. Надеюсь вы простите мне такую вольную интерпретацию :))) Маленькие золотистые шарики мимозы воплотились в золотых минипайетках. В страничке много всего золотого. Это и краска, нанесенная через трафарет, и брызги спреем и намного воска на чипе и бумаге, чтобы создать сияющий эффект. Поэтому участвую в задании: Тема странички из задания I used a contrasting combination of black and Golden, copper wire and black glitter on chipboard and background.
Coucou, Je vous l'avais annoncé il y a quelques jours, Valérie de la Scraposphère m'a fait l'honneur de me choisir comme "étoile" ce mois ci, alors je vous montre ici les créas que j'ai réalisées avec les produits de la boutique ... Pour commencer, une page "garçon" sur un combo bleu et vert plein de peps dans une ambiance estivale... J'ai travaillé mon fond de page blanc avec du gesso, de l'izink turquoise et un spray dylusion vert pomme avant de m'amuser avec quelques tampons chouchou : les chiffres grunge, les cadres et étiquettes, les tampons mots et j'ai testé pour l'occasion les dies chevrons, bien pratiques pour apporter du relief ! Pour qu'il n'y ait pas de jaloux, une seconde page estivale, mais cette fois-ci plus girly, dans un combo ensoleillé ! J'ai misé sur une créa graphique avec cette mise en page et les papiers, tampons à rayures, à chevrons... Même technique que la précédente avec gesso et distress strain jaune, puis j'ai mixé tamponnage orange et noir pour plus de profondeur : Pour finir, une petite créa presque de saison avec cette ambiance automnale ... je me suis lachée sur le fond orange que je voulais voir couler comme ces étendues de feuilles qui nous ravissent dès le mois d'octobre ! Le kraft et les embellissements apportent une note "nature" pour rester dans l'ambiance de cette balade forestière ... Merci de votre visite et bonne semaine !!! Bizz

Hello everyone. It's been a hard time lately with some flu coming arround and finally I'm back in shape with a new layout... I love to start a project from the title and when I have it most of the times the realization is easy and poetic. This time I run into a Carolyn Gold Heilbrun’s quote: “Romance is the glamour which turns the dust of everyday life into a golden haze.” As my LO is dedicated to my son I decided to use the word LOVE instead of the word romance. And don’t you think is true: we can get a marvelous gold patine from special moments… or we can paint someones life with gold with our presence…. So, let’s use some gold from Tattered Angels But let’s start from the beginning I had to create the dust first to respect the quote and i sprayed the left part of the Tattered Angels Mistable paper Brushed Cotton with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist Tarnished Silver. It has the right sense of dust with the presence of the silver in it. With the Black Chalkboard mist I also make some spots here and there and added extra dimension with the Black High Impact Paint using a toothpick. I used cards and tags from the Gypsy Moments collection from 7Gypsies to draw a focal point. You can see that I teared a heart out of the paper that transforms the dust to gold. Also the gold part is created with Tattered Angels Sunflower Glimmer Mist and the Antique Gold High impact Paint. I also used some gold flakes to give to the haze an extra shiny look. It’s very easy to apply them because the High Impact Paint in this case is used also as glue for the gold flakes. Adding some additional items to the photo the layout takes life. There are some pieces from 7Gypsies (the photo corner and the apozhecary label) and others from Canvas Corp (metal hardware, wire and pins). I hope you like it...See you next time!

Hola, Howdy, Hey, Hello, Hiya!! Its half way through January already. Whats with that? My husband brought home hot cross buns yesterday........I KNOW......CRAZY!!! Anyhoo I have the first Scrap the Girls challenge of 2019 to share with ya'll. I've had this Maggie Holmes - Willow Lane sequin flower in my stash for a while and have been DYING to use it. So I did. Yay. I was inspired by the "I'm a vintage soul" image. I decided to scrap the fact that at 36 I'm actually considered vintage. I wonder when I'll be an antique? Annnnnnnd thats all folks.
