Are you still sweltering, everyone? Well, except for my friends down under, LOL! I finally had a chance to play with some goodies that will be coming out in the new Holiday mini on August 4. OH BOY, there are some fun things in there to play with! I am IN LOVE with the Little Treat Box die. This die creates a sweet little box with NO GLUING! And there are lots of other dies with the set, and of course, since it's a bundle, there is an adorable stamp set to match. But let me quit yakking...here you go: I did use several new products for my little box, and I used the Facebook Colour Inkspiration #81 as my color palette: I started by diecutting the box from Cinnamon Cider cardstock and assembling it. Here's what it looks like when you fold it and insert the tabs...NO GLUING required! Then I set about doing my embellishments! I added some 'Tis the Season DSP on the front, stamped leaves from Beautiful Autumn on Crumb Cake cardstock, using Crumb Cake and Real Red inks, then punched them out with the punches from the Autumn Punch Pack. I stamped the circular element (Wrapped in Christmas) in Cinnamon Cider and Real Red and cut out the "love" to adhere over top: On the back, I added another sentiment, this time from Banner Year, and used some circular dies to cut it out. I tied it all together with some ribbons from Playful Pets and Metallic Ribbon combo packs: I can't wait to play with this little box some more...there are so many cute stamps and dies in the bundle, the possibilities are endless! And since this is NOT a card, I am entering it into the Always Fun Challenge for this week, which is Anything But A Card! Thanks for popping in today---enjoy your day and be blessed! Today's project is a hinged-lid box that perfectly fits 4 Hershey's Nuggets!
Busy week this week but I’ll try to keep reasonably up-to-date! Friday was my Crafty Friday morning class, then Saturday was my team meeting in the morning and a Mini Album class in the afternoon, so it was a pretty full-on crafty weekend! Here is the second project we made on Friday. It uses the fabulous Envelope Punch Board which - as we took great delight in telling one of the team on Saturday - is for soooo much more than envelopes! To make a box to fit any sized envelope, all you have to do is add an inch! Or 2.5cm, or any width at all, but let’s talk inches to keep things simple… Find your envelope size on the board Add adding 1” (2.5cm) to each side. So an 8” x 8” piece of paper would become 9” x 9” Find your score line as you would for the envelope, ie 3½”. Punch and score here as before, but then add an inch and repeat, ie punching and scoring at 4½” as well. For this box, pictured, we started with a piece of 6”x6” DSP, so we based our measurements on the envelope for a 2.5” x 3” card. To make an envelope for a 2.5” x 3” card, you need a piece of paper 5” x 5”, so we added an inch, using a 6”x6” piece, as mentioned. You need to score at 2 3/8” and then AGAIN at 3 3/8” (amended due to error). The only difference for this particular box is that you punch all the way round as normal, but miss off the final two scorelines, so only scoring on three sides of the paper. For the bow, we also used the Envelope Punch Board and followed some instructions from a German demonstrator, which was a challenge, as it never occurred to me to translate it before printing it out! Fortunately I’ve found you a video on YouTube which uses the same method and measurements. There are various ways of creating the bow, so if you don’t like this method, have a Google and you’ll soon find one that suits you better. I used three strips of DSP measuring: 1” x 6” 1” x 3.5” 1 1/4” x 1/2” (this bit doesn’t matter - just guess, or leave it off completely and replace with a button - I should cover mine up with a button as it’s pretty wonky!) I also found that GlueDots proved most effective for sticking it all together. The paper is the really popular Sweet Sorbet DSP which you can earn FREE during Sale-a-Bration with a £45 spend. But be warned: Sale-a-Bration ends on 31st March so time is running out! Happy Tuesday My Blogger Friends! My blog post for today is 'CASE IT TUESDAY'. That means today I have a fun little 3-D project that I found on the internet ....... And I created a CASE of that project to share with you today. This project was SUPER FUN to create and I want to jump right in and share that project with you now. This GORGEOUS box was created by my fellow InkBig team member Susan Wormley. She shared this box on our InkBig Facebook page and was kind enough to give me a private Zoom gathering to show me how to create this project. This box measures 8-1/4" tall and 4-1/2" wide. The thickness of the box is 2-1/2"......So you can tell that this is not a little box. I decorated my So Saffron box with the 'Ornate Garden Specialty Designer Series Paper' ...... And I used the 'Beauty Abound' set for my sentiment. The box holds a bottle of wine and has 5-sections for chocolates. I had to work QUICKLY to get the lid of the box to stand up for a photo.......Because as you can tell by the picture below.......Prada wanted to come in and help me out. After she knocked the lid over ....... She looked up at me as if to say......Did I do that!!! Here's the presentation of goodies inside this box...... The bottle of wine fits PERFECTLY inside the box...... And the sweet chocolates have their own little compartments. Couldn't be happier with the way this project turned out. It made a WONDERFUL gift for one of my neighbors. THANK YOU Susan for showing me how to create this little NUGGET of HAPPY!!! Thanks for joining me today! I had some fun making these cute treat boxes for my regular monthly stampin group on Monday. The larger box I received in a swap at convention from Barbara Welch. It is made using the Floral framlites and the Purse die. So cute I thought I would make a mini version of it. So here is how I made it: (2) of the large flowers from the Blossom Party Originals Die in Crushed Curry. Scored from point to point all the way around. Sponge tips of petals with Chocolate Chip and the using paper snips cut about 2/3 in between each petal (There will be alittle jagged piece that you will have to trim away on each side after cutting) After snipping fold the petals along score lines. (2) 1 1/4" Scallop Circles in Chocolate Chip (run them through the BS using the Polka Dot Emboss Folder) and add a dimensional to the back of each. Box: 3" x 2 1/2" piece of Chocolate Chip scored down the long sides at 1/2" and the through the middle at 1 1/4" and 1 3/4" making it look like an H. Cut as shown in picture and fold and glue to make box. Handle: 5 3/4" x 1/4" piece of Chocolate Chip add to basket. Attach scallop circles to center of flowers and then attach flowers to the box by adding glue to the backside 2 petals on the folds only. This will make the flower still pop up instead of those petals laying flat. And that's it! I thought I would post another picture so you could see how little it is. Just big enough for a few mints. I love this little treat box maker bundle from Stampin' Up! Creating the different characters was really easy and super fun. I used them at everyone's place for Stamp Camp this past Saturday and they were a hit. I meant to take photos of them individually but then I forgot and now I only have a bat left :) oops! I was focused on getting ready for Stamp Camp I guess. I did make a video as I put the second set together. The catalog also shows this set as a bunny and I think there are so many other ways to use it as well. The possibilities are endless. Yep, still playing with the new thinlits die that will be in the upcoming Stampin'Up! Holiday Catalog, going live on August 28th! One witch I used the new Tree Punch for the triangular hat and the other witch uses the Circles Collection framelits for the hat base and then I made my own triangles for the top. As in my snowman, the hat just slips over the box handles making it easy to reach the treats inside. The "hair" is pulling threads from the Burlap Ribbon. My witch color is Old Olive.
