This is a really helpful lesson on Colour Theory that I teach to my high school art students. It can be used with various units - drawing, painting, photography, or whenever you need to talk about colour. The Powerpoint/PDF goes through:a mini history of colour and the colour wheel the main types of colour schemes and colour theory (primary, secondary, tint, tone, shade etc) lots of examples from artworks (student/famous) lots of examples from movies to help them understand them even better Students get a kick out of the movie part of it especially because they make such neat connections and really start to notice that these colour palettes are everywhere! It's a simple lesson but an important one. Enjoy! Note - it has Canadian spelling of "colour" but that's why I included a PPT version so you can edit it if need be.
