I was so excited when my Bo Bunny package showed up this past week and I just immediately had to dive in and play with the gorgeous Somewhere in Time collection! I just adore the cogs & gears mixed with feminine things like the corset design. I began by first sitting down and fussy cutting a bunch of my favorite elements from the collection, like the steampunk style corset and a few of the gears. For the corset I added a little more dimension to it by adding a fabric ruffle and some cheesecloth netting. I also added some shimmering black glitter glue and some gold glitter glue (Stickles 'Platinumn') to accent the design. I used foam pop dots to apply my cut out cogs/gears to the page and then layered over them with the smaller Kraft wood gears from Bo Bunny. I finished the look with some pearl jewels and shimmering brads. I chose blooms in neutrals and the sea foam color in the patterned paper in this collection to accent my page. I used some lovely blooms my friend Lucy sent to me from her Etsy Shop called Tresors de Luxe, ...the floral fabric bloom, the 'shabby-chic' floral cluster and the antique lace are all from her amazing shop, you can find her shop HERE. But before I added my blooms I first did a little light painting behind the photo area with some Tim Holtz 'Sea Glass' distress paint and then did a little work with texture paste and a stencil. I also tried to add a little elegance to my page by stamping with the new Bo Bunny Gateway Stamp. Bo Bunny Product used: Patterned Paper: Antiquity, Beauty, Chrononaut/Somewhere In Time Stickers: Somewhere In Time Stamps: Gateway Large Stamps Kraftwood Gear embellishments Jewels: Love Letter I hope you enjoyed my post today using this gorgeous new collection by Bo Bunny! I would imagine this collection is in a lot of your households (Bo Bunny sold out of all of their new releases, before we even got our DT packages....clearly this is one popular collection!) ....so I wish you all joy in playing with these goodies! Thanks for stopping by my blog today, hope you all have a fun, scrappy weekend! xo

Here are the remainder of the Storyland paper dolls (Hilda Miloche, Saalfield): Princess Marigold At the same time I first became entranced by stories like 'The Golden Ball' I was also avidly following the adventures of Princess Marigold and her family (children Prince Rupert and Princess Rose, husband Prince Strongbow and father-in-law good King Florian, not to mention numerous courtiers) as the tranquility of their kingdom was continually disrupted by the mischief making and evil machinations of wicked Wizard Weezle: These stories first appeared (in serial form) in a weekly children's magazine called Treasure. I no longer have copies of the originals, but many years later the stories were re-published in a popular womens' magazine in South Africa called 'You'. Despite his best (or worst) efforts Wizard Weezle never did get the better of the good people of King Florian's kingdom, but that never stopped him from trying. Ladybird Books Go to this link to see more images from Ladybird Books. The series of little Ladybird Books available in the 1960's was like a feast in miniature. The bright colours and chocolate box art had a visual impact that was hard to resist. The presentation was pitch perfect. There was something extremely appealing about the size of the books, with an exquisitely detailed painting revealed on the turn of each page. As a typical little girl I loved the princesses the most - Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and Rapunzel. And what princesses they were! - Cinderella had three sumptuous gowns not one - and that was before the obligatory grand wedding. These little books appear to have lost none of their appeal over time. I've seen them change hands for impressive amounts on eBay where some of the bids are hotly contested. The Ladybird website: http://www.vintageladybird.com/ has a lovely archive of images for anyone like me who has fond memories of these books as a child. The prints can be found at http://www.ladybirdprints.com/ . In the winter wonderland we have experienced recently its like living in a fairy tale of our own.
