This is a picture showcasing pop art style portraits of four famous abolitionists and civil rights leaders - Dr Martin Luther King, Hariett Tubman, Rosa Parks and Frederick Douglass. I drew and colored these portraits digitally, using Procreate, on my iPad. I love doing portraits, and enjoy creating pictures of my heros and the people who inspire me. The picture is available in 8x10, 11x14, and 16 x 20 sizes. All of my prints are printed at a local print shop on 80 Lb bond paper. Please understand that the print shop needs at least three days turn around time on all orders, so it will be three to five days from the time you place your order, until I am able to pick it up and ship it to you. All 8x10 prints are shipped in reinforced cardboard envelopes, while all 11x14 and 16x20 prints are shipped in reinforced cardboard tubes. All prints are unmatted and unframed. If you would like your print matted and/or framed, I'm more than happy to do that for you, but please contact me about your request before making a purchase so I can create a custom listing for you. Thank you so much for supporting my small business. I love being able to create portraits of people, especially history's greatest achievers, thinkers, survivors, and heros. So I truly appreciate your willingness to support my art by purchasing one of my pictures.

I was truly impressed with how engaged they were, especially since it is so close to the end of the year!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Diane W. said: We worked on this together as a class as my students haven't had much exposure to escape room activities. They had so much fun trying to figure out the clues and we learned so much along the way. great product and will definitely add this to my yearly activities! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Karen Grierson said: Fantastic Escape Room activity! I don't think I have ever used one quite like it. My students were unable to work through the content on their own because of their reading levels so it is definitely a whole group activity. The variety of puzzles, although challenging and at times needing a bit more scaffolding than the great support provided, are 100% engaging and not frustrating for my students since we used a whole class option. MLK, Jr Civil Rights Individual or Collaborative Grid Art Lesson This is an individual or a collaborative art lesson about the portraits of the leaders of Civil Rights. You will download a zip file with 11 jpg and 10 pdf files. If you need a different file type, you can convert for free on lunapic.com. I intended the grid background to be useful as either a place for lettering each person's quotes, appropriate words, or creative coloring. I have also included a practice page for lettering if the student wants to add famous quotations. Encourage practice before adding the quote directly to the grid space, (since it will be hard to duplicate each grid after it has been cut from the master tagboard.) There are several free fonts here on TPT by TPT sellers that you could download for your students' use so I did not include any fonts in this packet. I also did not include the quotes as that is an excellent research project for your students. The quotes are easy enough to find with a Google search on the internet. This is not intended to be a history lesson in civil rights. It is an art portrait project. If you want to present civil rights history in your class, you will have to do the research on your own. If you want to do a artwork collaboration with the students in your class, I have included a sheet for directions. Each portrait would give you enough grids for at least 16 students with my directions. Or you could divide the grids up into 6" x 6" for more students. You will download the following (8.5" x 11"): 1. MLK, Jr. with Black/White Background 2. MLK, Jr. with Black Grid 3. Coretta Scott King with Black Grid 4. Abraham Lincoln with Black Grid 5. Cesar Chavez with Black Grid 6. Barack Obama with Black Grid 7. Barack Obama 2 8. Hand Lettering Practice Page 9. Black Grid (for students who want to create their own portrait) 10. Directions for Collaborative Art 11. Cover (jpg only) Appropriate materials are colored pencils, markers, mixed media and acrylic paint for tagboard. Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns before leaving me negative feedback. If you have problems with technical aspects, contact TPT Help. I am happy to help you in any way possible to ensure your art project is successful. I have done this collaborative project with famous paintings and it was very popular with my art students.
