Hi everyone, it's Laetitia. I'm so excited to share with you my first post for Citrus Twist! I loved the October kit with which I realized 4 12'x12' layouts. Today I introduce you the sunday sketch. A challenge that I like so much! I enjoyed using this model :D Before I started my page, I selected a photo and polaroid frame from the scrapbooking kit of the month to stay in the main formatting. Then I added a few scraps of paper and a placemat. I then added some die-cut to embellish. I then realized the bottom of the page drawing as much as possible from the sketch. And to finish, I have added stickers sentences from an old collection to replace the journaling part and some chinese ink tasks. I made this page to offer to my NSP Celina_scrap. I hope she likes it. Anyway I'm having fun! And you, already inspired? Thank you for your visit on the blog. And all my apologies for my bad English. See you soon! Laetitia @by_laeti Wow! Laetitia's layout is stunning right?! Kira here with a layout using the sketch as well. I am so grateful to be sharing center stage with one of my favorite scrapbookers. And I am just in awe of everything Laetitia creates. Here's my take on the sketch: I decided to flip the sketch upside down because I wanted the photos placed on the right bottom corner of my page. If you didn't already guess, I am documenting a photo of my son's spot on Halloween costume from last year. I thought this side by side comparison of him and Marty McFly was hilarious. I started by adding a ton of layers to my photos, along with some fun foam for added dimension. I used some of the exclusive paper, along with some of the 6x6 sheets from the Pocket Life kit. I built a few clusters around my page with ephemera from the Turn the Page die cuts included in the main kit, the exclusive ephemera from the Pocket Life kit, the exclusive epoxy stickers from the main kit, and some of the washi tape from the Embellishment kit. For the top cluster I used the same papers I had used to layer behind my photo, along with the same embellishments used in my other clusters. I finished off my page with some black splatters (I used watered down acrylic paint, which works great and is super inexpensive if you don't like to spend a lot on mixed media products!). You can watch my entire process here. I hope everyone plays along with this sketch! xo, Kira

Happy Sunday everyone! I made a 6x8 Layout with another beautiful sketch using my July Kit. I documented my new Hobby and adhered very exact to the sketch. The July Kit is perfect for all you nature photographs. I printed my photo in 7x7 cm and stuck it on a Project Life card . Then i have decorated the side with Tags, flowers and bits and pieces from the ephemera pack how you see in the sketch. For my title i have used the awesome SOPHIE ALPHABET stamp set. Below I cut a journal card into stripes. I love how my Layout turned out and i hope i can inspire too. Have a wonderful day.
Hello on Friday in another Pocket Life inspiration post! It's Kasia here with some fresh pages for you :) We are about to finish November and I have to admit that with very busy few weeks I decided to take my life documenting a bit easy. In 2016 I was trying to capture memories in my album week by week, but in November I changed things up and documented only snippets, little highlights and everyday moments of the month. I created 5 pages for November in total and here you can have a look at 2 of them - there are also sketches attached at the end of this post if you feel inspired by my spreads :) As you can see I focused on little details and things that made my November - there are lots of photos of at home activities (actually all middle row is about them!), some family pictures and a little bit of journaling and embellishments. I like the free look and feel of this pages. I think sometimes when it comes to documenting memories we put so much unnecessary pressure on ourselves rather than focusing on enjoying the process itself. With December approaching I wanted to have some time to prepare for my christmas album, so changing things up in the main Pocket Life album was a sensible choice! I really enjoyed mixing and matching here cards, papers, stickers and embellishments from November kits - they all aligned perfectly, don't you think so? Also I mixed some photos - there is random stuff from my iPhone and camera and honestly - I love this happy mix of captured memories! Below you can grab the sketches if you also want to try this simple, yet pleasing composition in your album! I think that mix of sketch and working with already matching, kit products is a great way for stress free documenting memories! Here is sketch for page 1 and a close up for my results using it! And page 2 for you guys .... ... plus some inspiration from me! I hope you will have a fun weekend, maybe you can even find some time to play with those! Let us know! And also remember about all Black Friday offers in Citrus Twist Kits shop - there are some great deals still waiting for you!

Happy Friday Friends!! This is Pam, here to share the Pocket Life Sketch for this week based on this 9x12 spread, using February's main Pocket Life kit, "Stories". My plan for this year is to create an album with lots and lots of lovely layers, meaning I plan to mix and match all different sizes of pocket pages and layouts together and house them in a 12x12 album. I have to confess though, I'm kind of hooked on the 9x12 format at the moment. I'm hoping to have several spreads of various sizes for each month. This one captures some of the everyday life details with my daughter in the first few days of February. The colour palette for February's Pocket Life kit is SO lovely!! There are lots of bright (but not too bright) and cheery shades of blue and yellow and orange and pink. The most challenging part of putting together my spreads this month was trying to decide which side of the journaling cards to use because I really loved them both. Such a great new addition to the kits and I'm really happy with the quality of the heavier journaling cards! I added little bits of machine stitching to a few of my cards this month for some added texture. I'm pretty tempted to hoard those die cut words, but did manage to get this one into my spread. I added just a little bit of purple watercolour paint to complement the colours in my photos. If I had to pick my top 3 embellishments in the February kits, I'd have to include the word strips (there are some in the Maggie Holme's ephemera pack as well as the Citrus Twist exclusive cutaparts) because they're ALWAYS a favourite, the cork pieces (love cork!!), and the puffy stickers. And then I'd tell you to ask me again because I couldn't possibly leave the die cut words off the list...or the glittery ephemera.. and I'd pretty much keep going on and on and on. Hope you have a wonderful weekend and get some crafty time in! Pam
Hello there everyone! It's Andrea here today with you, to share a cool layout using the Sunday Sketch and the August Citrus Twist main kit. I really enjoyed using this sketch! I think it works well with both the story I wanted to tell and also the goodies in the kit. I think the layout turned out really cute! Here is the Sketch for Today: And here is my layout: As you can see, the layout is about me and my husband and the magic of our love and being together. The pic is from a Disney trip we went on a couple months ago (I like to go there as often as I can), and it is definitely a magical place. However, everyday with my husband is magical because of our love. This is what I really wanted the layout to be about. I've been having an extra hard time lately with my health, so I wanted a little reminder of all the magic in my life...and the person that makes life beautiful and bright even when times are hard – my sweet, prince charming of a husband! I didn't do a lot of journaling on the page...I plan on adding in more writing later (seperately, on another page across from it in my scrap album, so I can do a lot of writing without worrying about how to fit it all in on the page). I did add some words and things that I thought would help get my story across though. I wrote things like “Ryan and Andrea” and “every moment with you is magic” on my layout. I also included stickers from the kit that say things like “you and me” and “always and forever” on it. Those plus the “magical moments” paperclip and the huge “I love you” gold script title, both from the new Maggie Holmes line, really help tell my story. As you can see, I followed the sketch pretty closely, but not exactly for this layout. I used one photo as opposed to two in my layout, like the sketch prescribes...but I managed to get the same sort of multi-photo look by using a couple of the polaroid pieces from the cut-apart sheet from Crate Paper. These polaroids really add a lot to the look of the page I think. The carousel horse one especially helps with the “magical” feel of the page and goes along with the theme of my story. I hope you enjoyed today's Sunday Sketch and layout! Have a wonderful rest of your weekend everyone! Hope I have inspired you a little...to create something about the magic in your life! Xoxoxoxo – Andrea
Happy Sunday ladies, it is Neftali here today and welcome back for another Sunday Sketch! Today I am so excited to be working with the lovely mixture on Maggie Holmes products from the August “Perfectly Posh” kits to recreate this lovely sketch: I was so excited to take on this sketch because I can see all of those layers and I knew that the Willow Lane Papers always layer so beautifully! So before I can get into the details, here is my take on this layout: I am pretty much a gal who takes a sketch a runs with it. I don’t always go too far from the design, and this layout is a perfect example of that! I kept to the design as close as possible, including the splatters, which were my favorite. To get that center banner I used the silky mint trim from the Main Kit, and the pink Pom Pom trim from the Pocket life kit. I was so delighted to have these two put together. I decided to divide my central area into four sections just as the Sketch suggests. Each one had a few fun layers of patterned papers, and a few embellishments from the Main Kit’s thicker embelishments, the ephemera pack, and the Chipboard pieces from the Add-On Kit. I only used one photo, even though I had four clusters. I used a photo of my little guy which I framed using a cute black frame from the Willow Lane ephemera pack. My favorite thing about this layout has to be all of those layers, layers, layers! So, have I inspired you to give this sketch a go? It’s a fun simple design, and you can get your layering skills to work. I really hope you try it out and share with all of us on the CTK Facebook group! Thanks for stopping by today. X
Hi CTK friends! Emma on the blog today to share my layout using this week's Sunday Sketch. First up, let's look at the sketch for today: Such a awesome sketch, right?! And here's the layout I created: I really wanted to try and stay true to the sketch this week because I love it so (funny how you can just click with a sketch/layout and be inspired by it!). Because I used one of the Pocket Life journaling cards I had to alter it a little because of the size (6x8) of my pages but it's not too far off! I even broke out the modelling paste for this page! Every now and then I get these bright ideas that I can do "messy" on my pages; it's not true but I like to give it a crack anyway ;) Not all that adventurous when you use white paste on a white page though is it? Ha! My page obviously started with the paste and I picked pieces from the Pocket Life that fit in with the sketch. The Pocket Life kit this month is so fun and colourful and I found it a perfect match for my photo. I used a couple layers behind my photo (scrap piece of the dictionary paper from the Main and of one of the 6x4 cards). I layered one of the die-cut cards and the 3x4 journaling card ontop of those and machine stitched them in place, then popped the photo on top of those! I typed a short bit of journaling onto one of the die-cut tags and tucked it (and another piece) underneath my photo. For my title I used one of the super fun word paper clips but put the red tag die-cut underneath so it was easier to read (the black got a little lost on the dark colours of my photo) - plus the red tag matches in with the red of the 3x4 card! To finish off my layout I added a few of the puffy stickers at the top and bottom of my page. I really love the circle puffy stickers (circlessssss forever <3) but the words didn't fit with what I wanted on my page, so I just cut them in half and used one at the top and one at the bottom to balance things out! It was such a simple page to put together because I kept with the sketch - I didn't have to (over)think anything. This sketch was a perfect match for my style/size! Now it's your turn! To play along with this week's Sunday Sketch Challenge, create a layout based off of today's sketch, upload it to the gallery with today's date (3/18) in the title, and you are in for a chance to win a $5 gift certificate to the CTK Store! Thanks, Em xo
Hey everyone, Janine here to share my take on this week's great sketch! This time we have a two photo circle sketch that leaves so much room for your own interpretation! Let's first take a look at the sketch: Isn't it fun? When I saw the sketch first, I was totally excited about the shaped photos, I love to use shaped photos on my scrapbook. And I don't know why, but the pictures I took, when my son first cooked a meal all by himself, came to my mind. I knew immediately I wanted to place those photos on a set of silverware that I printed out with my silhouette. Just to give it a bit of a themed look, because that's another thing I love to do on my layouts. To give it a modern twist though, I decided to use kraft cardstock as a background and to keep it quite simple. I love that yellow paper that came with the Pattern Paper Add-On this month, and those wooden embellishments are so great to emphasize something positive! Here is a close-up: Now it's your turn. If you want to play along with this week's Sunday Sketch and be eligible to win a $5 gift certificate, create a project based off of the sketch and upload it to CTK Gallery by next Saturday. Please make sure to include the date of the sketch in the title of your project. Thanks so much for stopping by and we are looking forward to see what your takes on the sketch will be! Have a wonderful Sunday. :)
Don't you hate it when you run out of e's? I'm forever running out of e's. But I do love it when an alpha is big enough (and not sticky!) for me to use it as a stitching guide. Then I'll never run out of e's! Couldn't go past this rainbow stripe paper in the June Citrus Twist Kits Pocket Life kit (of course), and even though we are heading into the gloom of winter down here in New Zealand, I love how bright and cheery this week looks. Here are some details... Here for the sketch for you to work with... And here is the process video of how this layout came together... Thanks for visiting Pocket Life Sketch Friday, where every week we share PL sketches and a chance to win. For your chance to win, create a layout based on the sketch in this blog post, post your layout to our Gallery or our Facebook Fan Page by Friday, June 30th 2017. Hi there! It's Trina here today with your weekly challenge. Are you ready for your Sunday scrapbooking sketch? This week we have a 12" x 12" sketch for you that I've converted to an 8.5" x 11" layout. Here is your sketch: I've done a loose representation of this sketch with my focus on the 3 stacked photos and the small gathering of title + embellishments. I worked with both the June 2017 Boardwalk Pocket Life kit and Scrapbooking kit. I think I had the most fun with the Title/Journaling spot in the lower right of the sketch. To type on the Elle's Studio Live Laugh Love Bits & Pieces piece I adhered it with light-tack tape runner to a piece of paper so I could roll it into my typewriter. Here is a close-up: Now it's your turn! To play along with this week's challenge, create a layout inspired by the sketch, upload it to the Citrus Twist Kits Gallery with the sketch date (6/18) in the title, and you may just win a $5 gift certificate to the CTK shop. I can't wait to see your take on this sketch. Trina
Diane here with another Pocket Life Sketch Friday for you. Don't forget that we have a giveaway associated with the sketches at the end of this post! Hey everyone! It's Kira and I am back with a fun sketch for you to use today! I love a classic grid layout so I jumped at the chance to use this sketch today. And here's what I came up with: I started with the "Memorable" paper from the Flourish collection. One side is full of cut aparts, including the "xo" piece I used in the upper left corner. Since it was already sized at 3"x3", I decided to stick with that size for the rest of my squares. I used some of the 6x8 papers included in the pocket life kit, as well as the "Poetic" paper for the yellow square. I stuck very closely to the sketch. The only part I "improvised" on was replacing the tag in the middle, for a fussy cut floral. I also added some embellishments on all of my squares (did you know I even ask the other design team members for advice when I scrap?! Kelly helped me with the finishing touches on this one!). I added some stitching in a pale mint color. And then brought in some tangled thread in the same color right under the floral piece. I can't wait to see how you interpret this sketch! Until next time, Kira
Hey CTK friends! It's Elsie here with this weeks edition of Sunday Sketch. This is a really fun sketch so I'm excited to share my interpretation of it with you. I used the June 'Boardwalk' Main, Embellishment and Patterned Paper Play kits. I love the way the sketch has a diagonal design, that's something I really like to try to and think about when I make layouts because I think it looks pleasing to the eye. I shifted my main cluster to the bottom left, because the cactus I paper-pieced was so large that it looked a little too strange in the middle of my layout! I loved the layers behind the main cluster in the sketch, but that's not inline with my style. So to combat this I deconstructed some of those elements and included them in other ways on my design. I was inspired to create the bunting because of the fishtail banner underneath the title in the sketch. I punched out some semi-circle bunting instead, and I love how fun and summery it makes this layout feel! I also used the fishtail design to create a little fishtail banner sign to pop my punny title on!! Instead of scattering stars on the background, I used some stitched clouds and clustered some of the flowers from the Pink Paislee chipboard and Elle's Studio puffy stickers. I also followed the sketch and made a cluster round my photo using some flowers and labels. And now it's your turn! To play along with this week's challenge, create a layout inspired by the sketch, upload it to the Citrus Twist Kits Gallery with the sketch date (6/11) in the title, and you might win a $5 gift certificate to the CTK store - yay! I can't wait to see what you create! - Elsie x
For whatever reason, the photos this week were VERY strongly themed in a orange/blue colour scheme and luckily the March Citrus Twist Kits Pocket Life kit fit in very nicely. Everything was very simple, with the addition of a few die-cuts and stitching and because this month's kit didn't come with an alpha, I had to get creative with my title card and cut it with my Silhouette. Here are a few details... And here is the sketch for you to work with... Check out the process video of how this layout came together... Thanks for visiting Pocket Life Friday, where every week we share PL sketches and a chance to win. Hi CTK friends! It's Nathalie, Emma & Trina on the blog with today's Sunday Sketch :) First up, here is a look at the sketch: It seems like most days with my daughter, McKenzie, off at college, that my pages tell many of her "away" stories. I'm lucky enough that she calls, texts and sends photos home on a regular basis. This page is sharing one of her stories, so it seems perfect to use this vintage book page from our October Little Things Scrapbooking kit. I started by simply stitching the book page down to my 6" x 8" PL page to create a mini layout. The little crosses on the sketch inspired me and (mostly) I grabbed from the Scrapbooking kit to fussy cut them from the smaller patterned papers. Pretty much I love sprinkles of anything on my pages! I also used exclusive patterned papers and embellishments from the Little Things Pocket Life kit that I absolutely love. In addition, the Little Things October Traveler's TN stamp was perfect for stamping sentiments on the page. I used my Tiny Attacher to staple some elements on the page. (Who else uses a Tiny Attacher just for the look of having staples without actually stapling something down?!) I don't like flat pages and often add foam pop dots beneath some elements to add dimension. I did this with the fussy cut flowers in the photo below. I can't wait to see what you do with this month's sketch. As you can see, all 3 of us took different approaches to the sketch, so have fun and please share! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hello friends! No surprise that I love a sketch; it's such a huge time saver for me (and life is pretty crazy right now so it's the perfect solution to get a layout finished!). And this week's sketch is a super fun one. Here's my take: I have used this month's Main kit and teamed it up with a few sentiments from this months TN Stamp. My background paper is plain white cardstock cut slightly smaller than 6x8 so I could back that up with one of the pattern papers (Indigo Hills v2 “Ridge” by Pinkfresh) to create a subtle border around my page. For the background I used one of the stencils from Vicki Boutin's Field Notes Stencil Set (sadly it's sold out at the moment!). One of the circle stencils has the exact cross pattern I needed so I just used some modeling paste (left it in white) and positioned them in a few spots on the top left of my page (to match the sketch). I also hand-cut a few of the crosses from one of the Maggie Holmes papers using my scissors (so they're far from perfect!) and just popped them on top, once the modeling paste had dried ;) I positioned my photo roughly centered, height wise) on the right of my page and instead of having 2 photo's like the sketch, I've just used a large die-cut piece to anchor it. Then I stamped a few sentiments underneath to fill the white space underneath (how perfect is this month's TN stamp?! Love it!). To finish off the page I added a couple of the flower die-cuts in opposite corners of my page, popped a couple puffy heart stickers on, then added a bit of machine stitching (because my pages feel naked without it) and called it done! The only slow part in putting this page together was waiting for the modeling paste to dry (but even then I just left it sitting under the heater vent in my room so it didn't take long lol). Take care, Em xo ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi there! How awesome are Trina and Emma's designs! I find sketches a great starting point for a project, as they are a building base of your page; but let me show you my take on the sketch... I used the Main and Embellishment kits along with the TN stamp set to create my page, and of course a bit of mixed media! I created my background using some watercolor paper and a few of the Pinkfresh Studio liquid watercolors (available in the CTK shop). I wanted to bring the blue/purple color in the Indigo Hills 2 ephemera (included in the Main kit) so that all the other colors will stand out. Next i used an old Heidi Swapp stencil and some texture paste to create the white crosses on the background. While this dried, i cut a few crosses from some of the papers, and used a bit of foam adhesive to attached them to page. I decided to switch the placement of the title; so, I added used some gold paint to color one of the wood pieces -included in the Scrapbook kit- and layered a piece of ephemera under it. I kept pretty true to the sketch from then on. First i used papers from the kit to back and layer the photos of my son, and then just switch the position of them a bit. Once in place, i added a few extra stickers from the Embellishment kit, as well as some elements from the cut apart page. To finish, i added a few sentiments to the page using the TN stamp (love all the phrases included in this month's stamp set!) I love how easy this was to put together by using the sketch as a blueprint for my page, and mixing in a bit of this month's "Little Things" kit. Now it's your turn - we can't wait to see how you interpret this weeks Sunday Sketch. Remember to share them with us in the CTK Facebeook Fan Page! xo
Happy Friday and Happy Project Life Day! It's April again! I'm back to share one of the PL spreads I completed using the July PL and Embellies Kits! I know I probably say this every time, but I think July's kits have been my favorite to date. I loved the color palette this month and the fact that, again, it was packed with so many goodies! This month, we received a mask in the Embellie add-on. I don't typically use mists and masks, but I'm definitely planning to start incorporating them more because they are SO fun! The mask included the "week in review", "love it", and "yum" statements - super perfect for PL! I've noticed that I have been using flip pockets a lot lately. This week was no exception. I received a thank you card in the mail and wanted to include both the front and the inside text of the card, so I created a flip pocket that flipped to the side (instead of from top). This was a quick and easy pocket made by using the blue chevron washi that came with this month's kits: I'm a typically very square-ish person when it comes to shapes/layouts (and maybe in real life too?! LOL!), so it was fun to play around with hexagons on a couple of my cards this month. The sequins that came in the kit were so pretty, so I sprinkled them around a few of my cards. The "explore everyday" quote came from a 3x4 journaling card that I fussy cut. I saw the quote "collect moments, not things" on Pinterest and liked it so much that I made my own journaling card. And last, but not least, here are your sketches! **Note: The red Jillibean alphas are from my stash as is the Mister Huey's mist that I used on the mask. I also used a couple of stamps from previous CTK kits (Jen Boumis' stamp and the Dear Lizzy stamp roller). Thanks for stopping by! Don't forget to leave a comment for a chance to win a $5 GC to the CTK store!
I had a hodge podge of photos this week so the best thing to do was simply to add MORE COLOUR! I used the November Citrus Twist Kits Pocket Life kit to add pops of light and bright colour to the spread. I journaled by hand this week, and even though I'm not a huge fan of my own handwriting, it really is the quickest and easiest way to add journalling to a spread. I tried to tie it in a bit more by adding a little bit of doodling on some of the photos. Here are some close-ups... And here is the sketch from this spread... Check out my process video of how this page came together... You can watch this video on YouTube or subscribe to my YouTube channel here. Thanks for visiting Pocket Life Friday, where every week we share PL sketches and a chance to win. Hello friends! On the blog today we're sharing our Sunday Sketch and have three (3) of our CT members joining in to share their take on it! :) First up let's have a look at our sketch: Hi CTK frie
What's up scrappy peeps?! Today I am trying a Pocket Life Sketch Friday for the first time! I used the June Pocket Life Kit to create a double page spread in my 9x12 Project Life album. I have created two versions of the sketch for you all, as I know that the 12x12" Project Life size is far more popular, hope you enjoy! Don't forget to scroll to the bottom of this post to watch the full process video :) ...annnnd here is the 12x12" modified sketch! I had a really fun time playing with the filler cards this week using the exclusive Citrus Twist ephemera pieces included this month. I loved the colours included in the kit and they suited the tones of my photos perfectly. I added a little bit of simple white tissue paper to add to the texture of the ephemera and craft foam to add dimension and make the embellishments stand out. I am really enjoying the 9x12" format and highly recommend testing it out by including an insert in your traditional 12x12" size. It's fun to play with different inserts! Hope you enjoy my process video! Adele :)
Happy Sunday Citrus Twist friends! Lorilei here today sharing a layout I made using a sketch and the gorgeous December Scrapbooking Add-on kit! Here is the sketch I am working with. My finished layout - I stuck very close to the sketch, replacing hearts with stars! I started the layout on a piece of white cardstock. I fiddled around with the top portion for quick some time and then realized stars would be fun! I added eyelets to my background paper and "hung" two of my stars on a string through the eyelets. They are secured with a pop dot and I also added a bit of glue to keep the strings in place. I used the December Life Crafted Stamp and the December 2x3 stamp for my "journaling" under the cozy title from the Crate Paper Snowflake puffy titles. I printed a long skinny photo instead of using two photos and stacked up papers from the December Scrapbooking Add-On kit. I used two labels from the Heidi Swapp Honey & Spice collection to decorate the photo area. To finish off the page I added some Crate Paper Snowflake stars and Willow Lane enamel dots around the page! I would have never created a page with this design out of my own head haha, it is so fun to make something different and use a sketch to start out with! This is a super fun sketch, I'd love for you to give it a go and see what you create! Thanks so much for joining me today!
Happy Sunday, CTK fam! Jordan here today with your final Sunday Sketch for April and it's a fun one! :) For this layout I used the gorgeous Savannah Scrapbook Kit and the April Embellishment Kit. I stayed fairly true to the sketch this time making only a few minor changes...more like additions, but nothing that changed the over all look and feel of the original. I found the glittery enamel pack to be perfect for adding the scattered shapes to the page. One thing you'll see me do from time to time (that I would like to incorporate more often) is that I will hand jam my journaling as a border. Sometimes I border the entire page with it, sometimes a photo or embellishment. Here I didn't have a ton to say, so journaling around the photo was perfect. I really don't like my handwriting, but for some reason, when I border something with it, it doesn't bother me like it usually does, and I really like the effect. I especially loved the colors in the kits this month. The mint, pink, coral combo is a favorite. It's so fresh and bold. Just right for spring time layouts, don't you agree? There were so many gorgeous embellishments this month as well. No shortage of tags and word strips, which I almost always include multiples of on my layouts. I hope you enjoy this "super, uper, duper" (as my daughter says) fun sketch! We look forward to seeing your adaptation this week. Please share your finished layouts with us on our Facebook group and on the Gram. Don't forget to hashtag #citrustwistkits! Have a beautiful week and I'll see you back here soon! :) xo, Jo
Hello and welcome in another Pocket Life Sketch post! It's Kasia here with some pockets inspiration! I love bright and airy spreads and try to keep my 2016 album in this style. I focus a lot on neutral, cool colors through all my pages - I pick white, grey and shades of blue and love building the base of my pages on them - so as you can imagine April kit was perfect for me! I love the double sided cards and possibility to choose more neutral color scheme. But I also know that neutral spreads can be a bit boring - both to look at and to make. We all love some color, don't we? So every week I try to add different splash of color to the pages I make. This time I picked green - my tiny herb garden was an inspiration for this move! Just two green elements - the week number and big, transparent title helped my pages come to life and look much more interesting. I used other bits and pieces from "Santorini" Pocket Life kit and April Sprinkles kit to finish off my pages. Below you can see more photos! I also have some fun sketches for you this week. Most of the time I stick to same pockets, but sometimes, to change things off a bit I pull out my fuse tool and create a custom pocket. It's so much fun! Don't worry if you don't have a Fuse Tool - you can also use a sewing machine or just create a layout following the sketch and slip it into full size page protector. Experiment! And have fun!:) Show us which side of April kit you felt inspire to use - did you go for neutrals or for bold colors this month?
Hey there Citrus Twist friends! It's Aimee here showing off this week's Sunday Sketch! As usual this sketch was a breeze to work from especially since it's a grid! Let's take a look at the sketch and I'll walk you through my adaptations and the products. As you can see it's a super fun grid design and a full page layout. I opted to leave it this format but it could easily be adapted to travelers notebook size too. I really loved the Flea Market Findings Vol. 2 die cut piece at the top of the sketch that says, "snap shot of the day" and I let this guide my photos for the page. I selected photos of a rather lazy Sunday morning and told our story. I followed the sketch rather closely and selected patterned paper from the Flea Market Finding Vol. 2 6x8.25 inch paper pack and trimmed them down into 2x2 inch pieces. The sketch calls for frames but unfortunately I didn't have any — no worries it still looks great without them! Once I got my squares lined up with my photos I ran the layout through my sewing machine and stitched along the edges of the squares for some added texture. After the stitching was done I got to work dressing up all my little squares and adorning them with all kinds of bits and bobs. I used die cuts and tags from the new Flea Market Vol. 2 Kit and layered them up for interest and the Flea Market Findings Puffy Stickers add a lot of dimension. Now, I thought about not including the title portion of the sketch but when I looked at my photos I decided that a title would give a lot more context to the layout so I decided on, "livin' easy" after song lyrics. Hands up if you're familiar with the tune! I used the Sunshine Puffy Alpha to spell out the title and I really can't get enough of this gorgeous yellow alpha! It's one of my favorites! I did some subtle grey stamping around the page with this small but mighty Citrus Twist 3x4inch stamp set from my stash and added some enamel dots to either side of my title. This sketch can be as simple or as complex as you'd like— if you're like me you'll love adding all sorts of different layers and products to the collage! It's a really fun opportunity to stretch your creativity and use up some goodies. I hope you'll give this week's sketch a try and that you've walked away inspired. Affectionately,
Hey everyone! It's Alena with layout for Sunday Sketch. Here's a look at the sketch this week: And here's what I came up with using the beautiful AT MY TABLE kit. I created a Title out of Mint Tiny Alphabet Stickers. The main elements on my layout, besides photos, are cut files. Some leaves I painted using watercolor paints. I wanted to add some black accents and used October Life Crafted Travelers Notebook stamps for that. Well, then it is time for you be inspired by the sketch to create a page of your own. Remember to share your creations with us on the Citrus Twist Kits Friends page on Facebook or by using #CTK, @Citrustwistkits on social media. I cannot wait to see what you create with this sketch.
Hi everyone! It's Sheree here to share today's Sunday Sketch with you all! This sketch is an 8.5 x 11 inch sketch but it could easily be adapted to 12 x 12 inches if you prefer that size. Let's take a look... Here's what I came up... I used papers and embellishments from the May 2020 Scrapbooking Add-on Kit along with the digital version of one of the TN papers from the May 2020 Journeys Kit. I started with a white cardstock background, then added a floral strip across the bottom of the page and a strip of the labels paper across the top before adding some stitching. I used a punch to add a notebook paper look to the edge of the digital TN paper then layered it with two other patterned papers underneath the photo. At the bottom of the photo I used one of the acrylic speech bubbles as the title, then added the phrase and ladybird stickers. I also used my sewing machine to stitch a little trail behind the ladybird. To the left of the photo I added a label from the labels paper which I stamped with the date, then added the journaling strips underneath. Stitching was added across the page above the photo and along each of the journaling strips too. I finished off by adding another ladybird sticker and some messy thread to the left of the date label. Sketches really do make it so quick and easy to pull a layout together! You can see my process in the video below... I hope you'll give this sketch a try too! Thanks for joining me on the blog today...enjoy the rests of your weekend! Sheree x
Hello everyone! I am so excited to be back today sharing the layout I created based on this fun sketch. This sketch is perfect to use after you've made a few layouts with your kit and you have scrap
Happy Sunday! Lorilei here today sharing a layout I made with the colourful and vibrant October Add-On kit! I am using a sketch today for my layout, and I decided to go with the Truly Grateful part of the Add-On kit! Here is a look at the sketch I will be using: I stuck pretty close to the main layout of the sketch, as I love the design. Using a sketch made my layout come together super quickly! My first step was to select a photo and then get started! I trimmed Paper 6 into the largest mat following the sketch; I added a photo mat using the Amy Tangerine "Slice of Life" paper (b-side). The pink paper beneath the embellishment is the b-side of Paper 6. Once I had my papers trimmed up, I added some paint splatters to my background using pink and gold spray mist. When the paint had dried, I added my paper stacks to the background. I chose the stay golden die cut from the Truly Grateful Ephemera Pack and a large floral as well. I decided to fussy cut some leaves from Paper 23 for extra embellishments! I also fussy cut one butterfly from Paper 5. I added little sequins to the wings of the butterfly from the Sparkle kit! To finish up, I added one of the gorgeous puffy words as my title and scattered the leaves above and below the focal point area on the sketch! I love how my layout turned out! I'd love for you to try the sketch! I can imagine many lovely ways to use it with the October Add-On kit! Thanks so much for stopping by today!
Hi everyone! Charissa here today with my interpretation of this week’s sketch. I loved the wrap around look and stuck very close to the sketch just tucking in a few more layers. I combined the July Main Kit along with the Embellie Kit to pull this layout together. My title came together with both the thickers from the main kit and the OA Travel Girl letters from the Embellie Kit. I used the TWC mask from the Embellie kit along with the Prima chalk in from the Main Kit to create a block for a subtitle on my layout. I outlined it with a pen from my stash to give it a bit more definition. I used a brad from the OA Travel Girl brads found in the Embellie kit to pull the layers all together. On the right side of the layout, I added another brad from the Embellie Kit to anchor some of the twine that the kits come wrapped in. It coordinates perfectly with all of the items in the kit. Finally, I stamped the star stamps from the main kit with both the blue Prima ink (the solid stamp) and with a brown ink from my stash (the outline), added some sequins from the main kit, and splattered some gold ink from my stash. The stitching lines were drawn with a brown marker as the final touch. Can’t wait to see what you create with the sketch! Until then! Here is your new sketch challenge. Upload your layouts to the gallery by July 20th to get your name in a drawing to win a $5 GC to the store. When uploading to the gallery you can name it as you would normally but please include "Sketch 7/14".

Does it seem like where here a lot? It honestly feels like I am doing a sketch every month right now and god help me I have actually come to enjoy it. I know, I know, I swore I was the anti-sketch scrapbooker - yet here we are. When it came to picking my sketch this month I was second to last to pick and for the first time ever I picked the 'most challenging' one. So you're really in for some fun! I stuck pretty closely to the sketch this month. I did add an extra triangle and strip of paper purely to balance the layout. As per usual I used the this months main and sprinkle kit. Now YOU go forth and create! Oh and if you finish early I'm also hosting today's iNSD Sketch Challenge over on the Facebook page. Now it is your time to try our sketch too! So join in on this challenge and share what you create using today's Sunday Sketch by posting your creation in our gallery and/or on our Citrus Twist Facebook group! Remember to put today's date (4/23/17) in the title! You could win a $5 gift certificate to Citrus Twist so please show us what you make with this sketch!
Hi there! Nathalie with you today to share this week's Sunday sketch challenge. Sketches are one of the best and easiest ways to create any project, as it provides a blueprint for page, the rest is up to you. This week's sketch is a fun one, let me show you... Now let me show you how this inspired my layout using the August Add on kit: I was drawn to the paper layers in the sketch, and decided to use them in a similar manner in my design with a few additions... I combined papers from the Add on kit and the jean texture paper from the Life Crafted kit to create the layers behind the pictures. I decided to switch the large picture to two smaller ones. Having the three photos help tell the story. In order to highlight the lone photo, i chose to back it with the same papers, but added the photo corners ( available in the CTK shop). The original sketch has a few strips of paper weaved through the paper layers. I decided to use fussy cut florals ( Fresh Bouquet collection - included in the add-on kit) and layer them as indicated by the paper strips. One of the biggest changes is that i replaced the large horizontal and bottom vertical paper strips with mixed media. I used an old Heidi Swapp stencil and Vicki Boutin Art crayon and stencil brush to create the impression on the white cardstock. I made sure that the impression stretched beyond the paper layers, just like the paper strips it is replacing. This gave me a place for my title - you can find those fun foam stickers in the CTK shop-. As for embellishing, i pretty much followed sketch to add my embellishments through the page, and even added a few stamped sentiments ( True Stories Stamp set) around the page. To balance the page, and also to follow the sketch, i used left over pieces from the papers and a few small embellishments -add on kit and CTK shop- to create a small cluster at the bottom of the page. My handwritten journal and a few drops of diluted art crayon complete the page. This page came together easily just by following the sketch. The small changes, just make it more my style! Remember to check all the kits, stamps and add ons on the CTK shop. If you create a project using this sketch, please share it with us. we love to see what you create with our sketches and products. XO!
Hello again friends! It's Kira and I am back with a 12x12 scrapbook layout for the Sunday Sketch. Here's a look at the sketch I will be using: And here's a look at my finished layout: I stuck fairly close to the sketch this week. And I used mostly pieces from the PL kit, along with a few items from the main kit. I started by trimming my photos down to 2.5"x2.5". My youngest son is obsessed with splash pads, and lucky for him, we visit one every week at the farmers market we go to on Sundays. I have so many photos of him just giddy with excitement as he plays in the water. I printed the photos in black and white since there were a lot of colors going on in the original photos and his shirt was red...which isn't conducive to the type of colors I like to use in my scrapbooking. Lol. Since I printed in black and white, I was able to pull in whatever colors I liked to my layout. And the first paper that called to me was this blue and yellow floral in the PL kit. Isn't it gorgeous?! I cut a 1" strip to layer behind my photos. I played off the blue in the floral print by bringing in this cornflower blue striped paper to layer behind each of the photos. I was flipping through the PL cards when this speech bubble card jumped out at me. I thought it would look so cute to use speech bubbles instead of squares, like the sketch suggests, so I fussy cut each of those out. I drew some squares on the right side of my layout with a pencil and then picked a matching blue thread to stitch over the top of the squares. I chose a simple title, Fun, for my layout using the Wild Heart glitter Thickers. I finished off the layout with some flower and heart ephemera from the PL die cut pack. And it was complete after I added some typed journaling. I can't wait to see how everyone uses this sketch! Thanks for stopping by! xo, Kira
Happy Friday friends! So glad you're here for another sketch challenge and an opportunity to win some happy mail. I'm sharing my personal album today - it's my first time working with the 6x12 size and I'm completely smitten with it! The February Brinley Pocket Life kit is so fun! My most favorite bits are the leatherette stickers - exclusives of course! This girl can't have too many hearts in her life. Here is the whole spread: I used my "January" lettering I shared here and decided to re-size it. I added the lovely yellow puffy alpha stickers and a couple more to keep the look clean. Here is the sketch. As you can see, I originally planned for my 3x4 photo to be on the right side but changed it up in the end. I love how it turned out with a little bit of a switch up. Here are some close ups: My One Little Word this year is light. I'm excited to document my journey with my word this year. I made my own journaling card with the patterned paper, a piece of floral ephemera, and a word sticker. Here is the bottom half. This journaling card was one of my favorites. I really want to focus on getting more words and stories told this year. I added a "yes to..." Citrus Twist stamp from an old kit. I loved the Pretty Little Studio word stickers in this month's Embellishment kit (that Claudia designed) so very much I wanted to use them everywhere! I added in the "beauty" stamp and a couple stamps in my stash to write out a quote that resonates with me. Thank you for stopping by today. If you would like to join in on the fun, create a project using the sketch above. Then post your project in our Gallery or Fan Page by Friday, 03 March. Don't forget to include PL 02/24 in the title! Happy Weekend! Xxo, Tara
Hello, and a happy Friday to all of our Citrus Twist fans! This is Melissa with you today to share a weekly dose of Pocket Life scrapbooking with you. I recently sat down and got caught up on the photo printing portion of my weekly scrapbooking, and it's awesome to have some more recent photos to work with now. I don't worry about staying caught up on the actual scrapbooking portion of my album, but I do like to stay relatively current on having photos printed so I have lots to choose from when it's time to sit down and make a layout. These particular photos are from July and cover a week where my husband left for a trip out of the country, I was at home working, and on the weekend I visited my family for my niece's third birthday party. Quite a diverse set of activities in a seven day period! Stars are a recurring theme in several of the kits this month, and, since I love to mix all of my kits together while scrapping, lots of them showed up here! I used the wood card with the star cutouts to frame up my title card, and the stars on the "Rating" card from the Hello Again cutout sheet (in the patterned paper add-on) simply begged to be filled in with some little enamel dots from the main kit. I'm trying something new with my Pocket Life sketches this month and have drawn them up on the computer! All of the Pocket Life girls at Citrus Twist have their own style of presenting sketches, so you won't see them in this format every week, but I'll be doing them this way in my posts from now on. And if you'd like to download them in PDF format, you can do that here. Speaking of Pocket Life sketches, you may have noticed the sketch sheets being included with your monthly Pocket Life kits now! Kasia has taken her gift of making lovely sketches and applied it to Pocket Life, and you'll be seeing these in your kits from now on. It's just one of the little ways that Citrus Twist likes to thank our subscribers- we truly appreciate each and every one of you!

Here is your new sketch challenge. Upload your layouts to the gallery by Aug. 17th to get your name in a drawing to win a $5 gift certificate (GC) to the Citrus Twist store. When uploading to the gallery you can name it as you would normally but please include "Sketch 8/11". Michelle here sharing my take on this weeks sketch. Sketch day is always my favorite day--nothing beats having someone else do the thinking and planning for you! LOL. Here is my take on the sketch using both the August Main and Embellishment kits. The border stickers from the Embellishment kit, along with strips of patterned paper, worked perfectly for the background. Cannot wait to see what you do with this week's sketch!
Hi everyone! Emma here with this week's Sunday Sketch! Let's take a look at this weeks sketch: It's a great looking sketch right?! First thing I'm drawing to is that diagonal line running from one corner to the other, plus those little clusters at the bottom left and top right (title). In typical Emma-style though (ha!), I couldn't follow the sketch exactly... Here's my page: For my diagonal lines I actually stitched white cardstock strips on top of the white background (I'm a sucker for white on white) plus I added a few triangle pieces of pattern paper in the opposite corners to frame my photo's and help your eyes follow diagonal lines. I used one of the 6x6 papers from the Pocket Life kit because it already looks like multiple patterned paper stitched together! I kept with two (2) photo's like the sketch but I turned them upside down so my title is at the bottom and the cluster of embellishments is at the top. I added a few of the sequins and cork hears from the Main kit to add a bit of colour - bonus points that the donut's actually match the colours of my page :) Now it's your turn to take on this week's sketch! We love to see what you do with our kits and sketches so please make sure to upload your projects to the Citrus Twist Gallery. And remember, by uploading your take on today's sketch to the gallery you will be entered to win a $5 Coupon to use on anything in the CTK Store! Just remember to include the date of the sketch to the title line :) Thanks, Em xo
We forgot to post the sketch for Sunday the first so you have all month to get this one done ;) Here is the sketch: And here is my take using the March Main Kit and the new Sprinkles kit. **So remember you have all month to get this sketch done!**
Hello. I hope you are all having a wonderful Sunday. Today I am sharing the Sunday sketch with you. I used the May Brighton kit and the add on kit to create my layout. There are so many products to choose from that I didn't know where to start but I quickly picked a color combo based on the Die cuts from Shimelle's collection. Here is a look at the sketch: Instead of using two photos I used one photo and a card which I cut out of one of the patterned papers from Shimelle Lane's collection. I kept the placement of the title and the embellishments as well as the added detail at the top right hand corner. I used the flower die cuts from Shimelle (Little By Little Paper Die-Cut Shapes (American Crafts)). I added a couple of Shimmer ink splatters to create flow like on the sketch. To play along with this week's challenge, create a layout inspired by the sketch, upload it to the Citrus Twist Kits Gallery with the sketch date (5/27) in the title, and you might win a $5 gift certificate to the CTK store.
