We spoonies have a tool that can help conquer this overwhelm and help achieve goals: a chronic illness journal, like, our 30-Day Chronic Illness Guided Journal.
Welcome to the journal of my experience with COVID in the summer of 2024. I’ve decided to publish this so that I can explain my experience as someone on 5 immunosuppressants as well as remind people that, yes, COVID is still a problem.
It's so important for people who are experiencing the difficulties of diagnosing or managing chronic illness to keep track of all symptoms, no matter how short-lived, small, or seemingly not important. Even the smallest, weirdest thing can help a doctor to find the correct diagnosis, and therefore, the correct treatment. I created this checklist and summary sheets to help me communicate effectively with my doctors. After trying health journals I bought, trying to journal by myself in blank books, and failing miserably at it, I created an easy, quick checklist for my ridiculous array of symptoms. If you feel it at all during the day, check it off! There is a spot to list anything else not on the list, and if you like writing, you can write details on the back. I've included monthly summary sheets for you to use or not-it's up to you. I tally the number of days each month I had each symptom, and the results can be shocking. When you live with something everyday, you don't realize the overwhelming amount of things you overcome every day. These summary sheets are also effective tools to good communication with your doctors, or even family, spouses, partners or friends when trying to explain what your day is like.

⭐️ a digital printable journal available for download that’s been made for those with chronic pain, chronic illness, fibromyalgia, and disability, full of journal prompts with a pain tracker, sleep diary, a pain management page and more!! 🥄🧘🏻♀️created for those disabled and/or in pain by someone who is actually disabled and living with fibromyalgia. this has been created with intention, love, and authenticity. cos you deserve that. This can be printed out or kept on your device. I can recommend Notability and GoodNotes as apps that work really well with these pages (I’m not affiliated with them, I just think they’re useful, well designed apps). If you are using this just for yourself, please feel free to have it printed and bound. In Australia, Officeworks can do this for you and it doesn’t cost much. 🎆 this journal includes 6 main journal pages:- a symptom tracker- pain management page- dietary intake page- sleep tracker- energy level tracker- gratitude page - plus pre lined pages ready for you to write on about whatever you like! 📖 book stats:- 192 pages in black and white - in PDF print format - in size A4 and US Letter- each page created from scratch, no cut and paste - original, hand illustrated designs on cover and throughout journal - front cover, inside cover, and journal pages all feature hand illustrated designs -------‐-------------------------------------💌 subscribe to get emails every now and then from The Wandering Moon Co. and receive a super secret subscriber-only discount code! https://linktr.ee/thewanderingmoonco -------‐-------------------------------- ———————————————————————-✍🏻 so why bother to journal? living with pain, discomfort, and disability of any kind is hard and isolating. so much of our daily lives are now beyond our control. that’s where journaling comes in. when you begin to track your symptoms, record what you’re eating, and take a close look at your sleep quality, you can uncover things contributing to pain and discomfort. once those things are identified, you now have the power to change them. essentially, you’re taking your control back. People are taking this information to their healthcare providers and are receiving better treatment. Some brilliant outcomes from those who’ve used this journal:- one woman in Melbourne living with chronic pain from a work accident was able to extend her WorkCover (worker’s compensation)- a woman in the US was able to receive far more adequate treatment through her health insurance - a father in the US was able to get his 10 year old son into a funded chronic health program - a woman from Australia was finally able to get a tailored physical therapy and medication treatment plan from her GP as he understood her pain better. ——————————————————————💌An open letter from me to you💌 📝To you, the soul living with chronic pain, invisible illness, fibromyalgia, (and other disabling auto immune disorders), discomfort, and disability, I’m just like you. I’m disabled and have been living with fibromyalgia for years. It’s a difficult path and it changes the plans we had for ourselves and the lives we wanted to lead. I know how hard the bad days can be, just as I know the joy and freedom of the good days (rare as they may be). I made this journal when I realised the many of the disability/chronic pain journals available were not made by those living the spoonie/disabled life. We are a unique bunch and we understand one another. all of these pages began as as the ones I would use for myself. they started as scribbles in a blank journal I had. within a couple of weeks I was able to eliminate certain food groups and certain stressors I never knew were actually bothering me. I realised my pillow wasn’t supporting my neck enough, giving me headaches. ultimately, journaling and tracking what I was doing and how I was feeling lead me to bettering things in a way I never thought possible. I know this isn’t a cure. for what many of us have there is no cure. but we can make our lives better. we aren’t alone in this struggle. Wishing you nothing but love and strength,Rachael xoxo ————————————————————— 🌸Journaling about chronic pain can be super helpful for several reasons: - Understanding patterns: Keeping a journal of your chronic pain can help you identify patterns in your pain such as triggers, timing, and severity. 🥄this digital fibromyalgia symptom tracker journal page is also useful for those living the spoonie life and needing a chronic pain journal page or something to record symptoms of their disability, invisible illness, auto immune disease, etc.🥄 I have fibro and deal with its many symptoms each and every day. While we know there isn’t a cure for fibro (yet🤞🏻), there are known ways to help. One of them is tracking your daily symptoms and using it to refer back to when trying to work out the reasons why one might enter a flare up. Pages like this also help us to have a degree of control over ourselves and our lives. ✨This is the journal page I originally made for myself and is the final product after many changes to get it just right. it helped me identify that:- the fructose from fruit causes me to flare up- 6 hours of sleep is too little, 9 hours is too much- preservatives in food are my nemesis - dairy foods are not worth the few minutes of yumminess- the days i would wash, dry, and straighten my hair were days that left my sore and tired. i now visit the hairdressers each week. - the humid weather made my joints ache more than the cold weather did. the details listed above are just a handful of the many, many things tracked & noticed. I’m sure that to those living without fibro, this appears to be a list of no real significance. however, to me they were a revelation. being able to identify, pinpoint, and eliminate some of the things that made my life miserable made me feel empowered once again, like i was not just existing at the mercy of my physical body. I hope you are able to create your own list of things to boot from your life. i also help this page helps you as it’s helped me 🙏🏻 ———————————————————— This page can be printed or kept on one’s device. Using an app, such as Notability* (free from app stores) can help to use the page to its full potential in a digital setting ✨Areas covered in the page: (in both A4 and US Letter size) - pain levels- visual chart for making areas of pain- the days symptoms- flare ups - stress levels- activity check list- sleep, hydration, food- and more! 🪐 the page come in: ▪️full colour: for the digital journal lovers: these pages work beautifully in apps such as Goodnotes and Notability, or the PDF program on your device. ▪️black and white: for those not needing or wanting the colour, or want to add their own. b&w is best for when printing ▪️in sizes A4 and US letter: so no matter where you reside, you can print them in your preferred size (if you want to change the size use your printers scaling function) ✍🏻Features hand illustrated designs ————————————————————— 🧑⚕️Please note that it's important to consult with your healthcare provider before starting any self-care plan, including journaling, to make sure it's safe for you to do so and if it's going to be beneficial for your specific condition ———————————————————— So, what is fibromyalgia? Fibromyalgia is a chronic pain condition that affects the muscles, tendons, and ligaments. Symptoms include widespread pain, tenderness, and stiffness in the muscles and joints, as well as fatigue, insomnia, and depression. The cause of fibromyalgia is not well understood, but it is thought to be related to a combination of genetic, environmental, and psychological factors. Fibromyalgia is usually diagnosed by a healthcare provider based on the presence of certain symptoms, including pain that has been present for at least three months and the presence of tender points on the body. There is no known cure for fibromyalgia, but various treatments such as medication, physical therapy, and lifestyle changes can help to manage the symptoms. -------‐-------------------------------------💌 subscribe to get emails every now and then from The Wandering Moon Co. and receive a super secret subscriber-only discount code! https://linktr.ee/thewanderingmoonco -------‐-------------------------------- ⭐️Holding Space for Myself is a softcover journal I’ve created for those with chronic illness, disability, and pain.
