There are few places on earth still dedicated to retro pop culture quite like Michigan, and it has the drive-in cinemas to prove. Currently, there are nine outdoor cinemas dotted throughout the state and for locals, this is an opportunity to catch those waves of nostalgia as they line up for their popcorn and sodas. For those who wish to recreate this same vibe at home, all it takes is a bit of imagination and a few minor tweaks to the exterior. Before long, you’ll project your favorite cult classic film or even a modern rendition of a retro series, as the best thing about a home cinema is that you get to choose what to watch. What Is A Movie Without Snacks? It’s a no-brainer that popcorn and movies go together like peas and carrots if you pardon that pop-culture movie reference. But you don’t have to stop at popcorn. A truly magical outdoor film experience should include delicious treats and beverages too. For those who want to add a theme to their evening, a classical nod to Gone With the Wind or Casablanca can easily be incorporated. Simply swap out the popcorn for a gourmet variety, add some appetizers, a bottle of champagne, and you’re good to go. You may want to glam up your seating arrangement a little too. Find The Perfect Spot One of the best parts of planning a retro cinema evening in your garden is that there is usually no shortage of walls to act as a backdrop. Choose one that offers a clean slate, or if that can’t happen, one that will easily accommodate a big white sheet or blanket. Opting for retractable awnings will be a good idea to allow seamless viewing pleasure. The perfect spot will also allow great acoustics without being too hard on the neighbors. If you’re willing to splash out, then consider investing in wireless headphones to enjoy the film without being the neighborhood nuisance. Comfort Should Not Be Compromised While a snowstorm may seem like a good time to sit by the fire and snuggle under a blanket, it won’t mean much when this is done outside even if it is the ideal time to show off your new firepit. Instead, find an evening that is comfortable enough to keep your guests from shivering. If it’s a balmy summer evening, it might be a good idea to have a fan or two outside. Create a comfortable area with chairs, loungers, pillows, and blankets to ensure that everyone remains glued to the screen. Soft fairy lights or low watt bulbs add to the ambiance without distracting from the screen. If you’re looking to do this often, you may want to consider some permanent structures to make those retro movie evenings pure bliss. The ideal outdoor cinema event should be about making memories and this is quite easy thanks to the inherent nostalgic factor that always plays a part in films. The joy of an outdoor cinema is that you get to decide whether you’re going to wing it or make it a more permanent part of
A classic Fifth Avenue apartment is creatively decorated for the holidays by designer Phillip Thomas.
Hun hart klopte in hun keel.

Unser Wochenende fing diesmal schon am Freitag an. Luxus. Kind strahlte Angesichts so vieler kleiner Päckchen. Gute Nacht! Habt alle eine wunderschöne Woche! Eure la petite cuisine
Willie Nelson received a very personal Christmas gift from his good friend Snoop Dogg.
She's a nursing major in college so we already knew she wanted to help people, but Hillary Sadlon poured on the kindness for others even on a day when she could have been pampering herself. After seeing someone post online about how they did it, the Seton University senior spent months planning how she could be kind, generous and thoughtful on her upcoming birthday and made a giant list called, Hillary's 22 Random Acts of Kindness for Her 22nd Birthday.”
Known as chip gratin in my house, this is the most fabulous potato bake, and an indispensable part of Christmas celebrations in Sweden: the potatoes are cut as if you were making French fries, then layered up in a dish with onions that you’ve cooked in butter until soft, along with a couple of tins of Swedish ansjovis, with cream and milk (or all cream, if you prefer) before being topped with breadcrumbs (although I must admit I forgot to add them for this photograph!) and butter, and baked. As for these ansjovis, these are not — as you might think — anchovies, but sprats that come in a spicy, sweet brine, which give them a light pickled flavour. If you can’t get hold of them, then you can best replace them by chopping up a couple of pickled herrings. I should also tell you that for my fishphobic family, I simply forgo this element, and stir three tablespoons of grated parmesan into the cream and milk instead. I wouldn’t dare serve it like this to a Swede, but I can vouch for its (inauthentic) deliciousness this way. But if you can get hold of the Swedish ansjovis, do; you can find them online or at some Ikea branches. For US cup measures, use the toggle at the top of the ingredients list.

Planning a Germany vacation? Nuremburg Germany is one of the best places to visit in Germany. Here are all the best things to do in Nuremburg:
Life has been very busy this past week, we have had a wonderful Christmas with all of our family & have made many memories. This was the scene out of one of the side windows on Boxing Day night, it was a lovely surprise to the twins once they woke in the morning. Boxing Day is called so as in years gone by the church left boxes out during the approach to Christmas to be filled. The contents of which were distributed to the poor on the 26th of December ~ Boxing Day. ~ George keeping warm. ~ Making Mince Pies. I make the same recipe every year, my Mother's. ~ The topping is whisked egg white sprinkled with sugar. ~ All ready for my Grandmother Betty's tin, every year they get placed in her tin. I feel with many of her things around me she is with us, the twins never met her but they feel like they knew her & they are always talking about her. They would have had such fun together. ~ The twins & Sidney decorating some Christmas biscuits. I use a Empire biscuit recipe for all my cutter biscuits now which I will share with you soon. ~ All finished, Mary is not a sweetie lover so we did some with just icing. ~ Starting the cranberry sauce for our Christmas dinner. ~ The Christmas cake ready to be cut. ~ My husband gave me my first Tasha Tudor Christmas card. ~ Getting ready for Father Christmas on Christmas Eve. ~ Christmas Morning. Yes he came. Harry & Kate wanted to see the little one's opening their gifts in their stockings. They were so good & waited until 8 0'clock especially considering Mary woke at 5. ~ The younger one's opening their stockings. ~ All the children opening their gifts from us, I love to sit back & watch their faces. Mary was so happy to receive this book from us as before Christmas we watched the Tasha Tudor Christmas dvd together & she said we do not have that book do we. ~ Christmas Day lunch. A bit of a squeeze but we all got in. This year I decided to use the kitchen table for the food with limited table space in the hall, it all worked wonderfully & it mean't that you could go back for second's or third's. I was so happy to see everyone enjoying their food. For those who wanted to know what was inside the crackers this year I did jewel hair clips, lip balms & hot chocolate sachets. ~ Early morning on the 27th with a light snow fall. ~ Standing opposite our cottage. The road looks so peaceful. ~ We are back to a more slower pace once more with the animals as I write sleeping in front of the hearth. ~ My sweet husband gave me this beautiful Victorian copper mold for Christmas. ~ Enjoying a lovely game of Snakes & Ladders. Kitty has not taken her flower headband off since she received it for Christmas for her dressing up box. ~ We had a very special Christmas one I will treasure. Thank you all my dear readers for all your kind comments & support during my first year of blogging. I have really enjoyed sharing a small part of our daily lives. May I wish you all a happy & healthy new year. Fondly Michelle ~
