This resource will introduce the Chinese Lunar New Year’s history and traditions to your students, plus provide you with the needed resources to do so! Your students will stay engaged in this meaningful Chinese Lunar New Year reading and writing tasks that will keep them engaged in their assignments. Content: Students will either skim and scam or read the informational reading summaries about the Lunar New Year. Through discussing the traditions and culture, students can also get a real-world connection by being a part of discovering their own Zodiac animal using the teacher’s chart provided. Next, the students will write about the Lunar New Year. Last, the students will color their display cover for their work, as well as create any of the Chinese traditional crafts.
