You never really know what a job is actually like unless you do it. The media and movies often sell romanticized versions of professions and leave out the bad and ugly processes involved. They might focus on these jobs that have excellent pay, have amazing slow-paced work environments, let you travel the world, or achieve your childhood goal. Whatever it is, the good side is not always the accurate and complete version of the job, as one Reddit post revealed. A member of a popular online community asked what job is highly romanticized when in reality, it stinks. Here are some of the responses from the post and what they had to say about these jobs.

At 28, I was crippling anxious, empty and overwhelming sad. After spending my childhood in a loveless and chaotic home at the hands of my alcoholic mother, I was far more broken than I could ever imagine. I knew I needed to heal if I was ever going to have a chance at maintaining the relationships I had day-dreamed about as a little girl. My therapist had recommended journaling - but where to begin when everything hurt so much? I developed this guided journal with the hope that you too can start to explore, the good, the bad and the ugly of your childhood. I envisage you that you address one journal prompt at a time, exploring all corners of your mind as you do so. How do you physically feel answering this question? Does your body ache? Where? Are there any other memories that are surfacing for you? Does your mind keep thinking of a particular person? How does that feel? Do you feel the same about this situation as an adult as you did as a child? Healing the inner child is a profoundly significant journey on the path to personal well-being and emotional resilience. The concept of the inner child refers to the emotional and psychological imprint formed during one's formative years. Unresolved childhood experiences, traumas, or unmet needs can leave lasting wounds that impact adult emotions, behaviours, and relationships. Addressing and nurturing the inner child involves acknowledging and validating these past experiences, providing a platform for healing and self-discovery. By tending to the needs of the inner child, individuals can break free from patterns of self-sabotage, self-doubt, and emotional reactivity. This process allows for the cultivation of self-compassion, fostering a deeper understanding of oneself and promoting healthier connections with others. Ultimately, healing the inner child is an integral aspect of personal growth, offering the opportunity to build a more resilient and authentic foundation for a fulfilling and emotionally balanced life. My hope is that this journal helps you fall in love with you and that you finally begin to heal your childhood wounds. I wish you the best on your road to recovery x x x
