Separation of Substances Class 6 Notes
In this post I'm sharing how I use different types of manipulatives to teach chemistry concepts in middle school science!
This set of scribble notes for AP Chemistry contains all you need for notes on heat enthalpy and enthalpy of formation. Students can color, scribble, and make visual connections as they take notes in class. This set of scribble notes is designed for use during Unit 6 (Thermodynamics unit) of the AP Chemistry curriculum. The notes include the definition of enthalpy, as well as 7 problems related to enthalpy and enthalpy of formation that you can walk through with your students. These Enthalpy scribble notes come in two versions: Version 1 is more blank, with students needing to write in their notes during the lesson. Version 2 is more structured, with more of the notes included and/or fill in the blank notes for the students to complete during the lesson. Also included are 2 TEACHER GOOGLE SLIDES PRESENTATIONS. Version 1 is more blank for those teachers that write on their boards/screens. This could be done with a Smartboard, tablet, etc. Personally, I use the Doceri app in conjunction with an iPad and my desktop to write on my presentations from anywhere in my room. Version 2 is more complete with more filled in and more text for those teachers that will be using a pointer/clicker to click through the slides. Each teacher slide presentation includes the 7 problems that are included on the student note pages. There is also an optional activity you can do after the notes, which you can purchase here. If you do not wish to use this activity, simply delete that slide. Lastly, each presentation includes the Color Palette and font that I used on a slide at the end of the presentation in case you want to add any slides. Please view all preview images and read this description carefully to see what is included in this resource. Unit 6 - Stoichiometry and Limiting Reagents Honors Chemistry Notes with I do, We do, You Do Format Questions This bundle contains 2 sets of notes with corresponding questions in the I do, we do, you do format. The “I do” questions are for the teacher to go over in class. The “we do” questions have a QR code that can be scanned with a smartphone and a clickable image that students can use to view a video of how to solve that problem. Each set of notes has approximately 8-12 “you do” questions. The “you do” questions can be used in several ways: students can work on them independently or in small groups, they can be answered in the Google doc, on paper or on white boards. These notes are a great way to encourage collaborative learning and for students to make their thinking visible. These notes are great for in-person and remote learning, as each one is a self contained lesson. I created them for the 2020-2021 school year and my students really loved the format. If a student was absent, they were able access the material from the notes, watch the videos and could then ask questions about the content if they needed additional support. You will get: A google folder with 2 editable notes (in google doc format) and the corresponding answer keys, along with QR Codes/links to videos. The lessons are organized into 14 units. This is UNIT 6 ONLY! This will be available in a bundle with all 14 units as well. 6. Stoichiometry Stoichiometry Limiting reagents
