This resource is included in the number 22-Community Helpers or Professions for the Holistic English Resources to teach ESL Kids. LINK: LINK:https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Community-Helpers-Unit-for-Kindergarten-Holistic-English-Series-22-7532233 This set of masks will help students reinforce their vocabulary for parts of the face while also learning about different community helpers. Have the students notice that the community helpers need their faces completed. There is the boy and girl version of the firefighter, pilot, police officer, chef. Have the students pick a community helper for the activity. Learners will identify the Helper by coloring the word on each mask. Invite them to draw the missing parts of the face (eyes, nose, mouth, ears) on the community helpers. Then, have them color the community helpers after completing the faces. Students cut the community helper of their choice and create a mask. Students will use the mask to say who they are or to play guessing games: I am a pilot! Take a look! If you don’t want to create the masks, have the students label the parts of the face using the word bank provided. I would love to see your masks!
