A rare collection of four porcelain French military figurines daring from the 1940s/50s. A lovely find for collectors, these lively characters would be a delightful decorative addition for French history appreciators displayed in an office or on a shelf in a European history classroom. Three of the four are stamped with a blue Porcelain faience mark underneath. The fourth includes inscription details about François-Séverin Marceau (1769-1796), French general and notable young military hero of the early years of the French Revolutionary Wars. Peder Severin Krøyer was a Danish painter. His official debut as a painter was in 1871 at Charlottenborg with a portrait of a friend, the painter Frans Schwartz. He exhibited regularly at Charlottenborg throughout his life.
