With the Kate Spade show at New York Fashion Week and the impending Halloween holiday, the retro vibes are in full throttle with me right now! I just love how that show mixed the 60's with a modern touch while still keeping it feminine and fun! It reminded me very much of the same style we would have seen Elizabeth Montgomery's Samantha Stevens of Bewitched wear! Hence the inspiration for this post! Shall we explore the endless retro inspirations brought to you by the one and only Samantha Stevens? These photos are not mine. At the beginning of the show, we saw Samantha do her best to assimilate to what she thought a typical mortal housewife would do and wear. The looks that followed were so elegant and timeless they will never go out of style. Seriously, she looks like a real life Barbie doll! Also, notice the way she used suits and white gloves. This was a prototypical way of dressing for the 1950's and was very influenced by fashion brands like Chanel. These photos are not mine. As the show progresses we see Samantha develop her own take on 60's/70's fashion. The skirts and dresses got shorter, she wore more jumpsuits, and bell bottom pants started to make frequent appearances. Prints were the major style switch Samantha made in the show. Early in the show we would only ever see Samantha in a pastel or solid colored dress. Slowly she started to experiment with neon colors and pants, and pretty soon she was wearing all kinds of different 70's trends! Another addition to Samantha's wardrobe was this spiffy sequined cocktail dress she is seen wearing above! If I had the powers Samantha had, I would be changing up my wardrobe just as much as she did! With the wiggle of my nose I would have all of this season's hottest pieces, but unfortunately I am but a mere mortal. Much Love, Sarah

Photo manipulation is such a big part of social media nowadays that we don’t look twice anymore. But technology never sleeps, and deepfake intelligence is proof of that. It challenges our perception of what we call true and false. MIT research has shown that all things fake, from news to rumors, spread faster than accurate stories.
