When I was younger, I used to watch a show on the Discovery channel about haunted houses. I would gather around with friends I was in ministry with, and we would watch as various people came to a home and attempted to rid it of whatever ghosts had laid claim there. I was always struck by the fact that only a priest could truly banish the lingering unclean spirits. White witches and Protestant pastors tried but failed. Only a Catholic priest was successful, and that is because of the authority that God gives his priests.

Jameson's aptitude for the creative was recognizable early on, having won several statewide and national competitions for both art and poetry at the encouragement of her teachers. She later studied art as a baccalaureate and began her career as a portrait painter. Jameson's portraits succeed in bringing forth the truth and beauty of the human figure, while blending with the ethereal as evidenced by her breathtaking pieces that reside in churches and private collections throughout the United States and Europe. Several of her original paintings are currently represented by the Sacred Art Gallery (Arizona). Jameson's breakout contemporary Christian works have sold thousands of copies and have been featured in art magazines such as Redeemer's Heart and licensed for several book covers. Jameson pulls from contemporary figurative and impressionistic styles along with the use of bold, bright colors influenced by the aesthetic of her beloved home state of Florida to form truly unique and meaningful pieces of modern Christian art. ***June Jameson's Artist Statement Many people ask me how I became an artist and like so many other artists my answer is simple, it's just who I am and have always been. Artists just have to create and often as visual artists, our creations are influenced heavily by our surroundings or what we see. However, our mind sees more than what our eyes see and that's exactly how I became an artist primarily focused on faith. Since as far back as I can remember, I was blessed to have a relationship with God that is more real to me than the ground I am standing on. Even as a small child, I would talk to Jesus like a friend who was always with me. I lost that faith for a time in early adulthood, but thankfully, I got it back quickly. So my day, my surroundings, what my mind sees most of the time has something to do with God. I see aspects of Him greatly in His creation; in all kinds of people, in oceans, in flowers, in birds, in the sunlight filtering through green leaves to name a few. My purpose for painting is to glorify Him and create something beautiful that reflects the heavens upon the earth and I pray that people will be inspired by my art and drawn ever closer to Jesus.
