Circa before 1906, as the Wandsworth studio location was closed by then. (see studio location information below) Card measures 2.5" x 4". This is a studio photograph with props, the boy is posing with his right arm on a chair made of tree branches. These photos were usually made of an albumen print mounted on cardboard. This is a very old cabinet card (Carte De Visite, CDV) taken b y photographer Masterson of Port Jervis, N.Y. Somewhere around the mid 1800's. It is in very good condtion..it shows no age related spots at all/ The size is 4 inches tall and almost 2 1/2 inches wide. It shows an older lady in traditional clothing for that time.

I purchased this portrait (and others) from a gentlemen outside of Chicago Illinois around 2010, Considering this portrait was taken more than 100 years ago, it is in great antique condition with little wear. Please see all pictures closely. With the presence of the rosary beads and lit candle, this could perhaps have been a photograph of this young man's Catholic confirmation. However, there is no information anywhere that offers a name or explanation, other than the studio's embossment on the card itself. The popularity of "cabinet cards" and sepia toned photographs occurred from 1860's to the early 1900's.
