As part of my goal to finish up some WIP’s, I broke out these blocks this week: These are quilt blocks from several years ago that I had made for me in a quilting bee. All the fabrics used a…
Fijne avond allemaal, Tot blogs, Juud Remember; Better finished than perfect

I won’t be offended this week if you call me ‘fickle’…. Because in truth, my craft room could be suffering from an identity crisis with the amount of changes that have been undertaken in the past few months. I started the year with a freshen up after the Christmas mayhem and restored my pretty craft room back to her full ‘shabbilicious’ aqua gorgeousness. Then in February I gave her a mini make-over and wallpapered two walls with this beautiful photo mural of shabby pastel wood planks. I simply adore this shabby paper design….. But a few weeks later
Hi there, I’ve been quilting away the last month, and have some beautiful quilts to share with you…let’s start with one of my recent finishes… Susan made this incredible quilt and asked me last fall if I would quilt it for her. It was an absolute pleasure adding all the beautiful quilty texture t

It is hard to believe February is almost gone and in just a few weeks we will be celebrating Easter. Life has been busy for us, little things happening every week that have to be resolve, car repairs, several job related trips to the east coast and the maintenance/up-keeping of our home. Never a boring minute! I have also been spending a lot of time in my craft room preparing Etsy orders. No complains there! :) I have so much fun sewing. Today I am just giving you a small tour of the craft room these days. I figured now was a good time since it was kind of clean. :) For me this a work room, not a show place, so it can get pretty messy when I am in there working. I really haven't made any changes. Just a couple of things here and there. Please excuse the glare in the pictures. I can not say this room isn't sunny. Lots of natural light, that's for sure. :) Most of the items I had on the wall and shelving are still there and most of them I made myself. I use the left area of the room mostly for painting, stenciling and paper cutting. I added this small homemade shelf I already had and it fits perfectly under the counter. I am using it to store some of my craft paper. I had to make some changes to the corner counter when my husband bought me this beautiful embroidery/sewing machine for Christmas. I moved the chair to that side and it has proven to be a great space to sit down and play with my "new toy". As you can see, I still kept next to it my little old sewing area, since this is the sewing machine I use most of the time. The opposite side of the room has stayed the same. Last year in May I decided to open up more work space in the craft room by upgrading the closet area. You can see that post here. The extra work space has been so helpful to me. The little sitting area is a great place to sit and look at some of my favorite home magazines. I am also adding more cloth drawers to the center work bench and I am in the process now of making some labels for each cubicle. And that is it. A simple but just perfect space for me to create. I hope you enjoyed this little tour of my craft room.:) Thank you so much for stopping by. I really appreciate your visits. Enjoy the rest of your week. Sharing with: InLinkz.com
Some of you may remember seeing this blog post about my sewing room. This was way back in November 2013. Well it was time for a face lift. the old space started to feel crowded and unorganized. The paint color hasn't changed and some of the furniture stayed. I kept Gorm (no longer available) from IKEA (the comparable is Hejne). Those shelving units are perfect for storing fabric and adding project baskets. This revamp started with a trip to IKEA, who am I kidding, just about every home improvement or remodel starts with a trip there, right? I was just toying with the idea of a dream sewing room and changing out the desk that I had (my old kitchen table, no joke) with a brand new table top, then I saw that Klimpen (table legs with storage) was on liquidation. BUT I didn't buy everthing just then and there. Went home and drew my room on a piece of graph paper to make sure the new desk would fit. So off to IKEA again to buy the table and legs. Those shelves were all Dan's idea, he said I just had too much stuff not to get shelves in here...Off to IKEA again? ummm yes. I was pleased as punch when I realized that Antonius was a perfect fit under the desk. This is where I keep my threads, interfacing, velcro and snaps. I have a small table, counter height, to cut on, but I also use the dining room table when the pattern pieces are just too big. To the right of that table in back of the door are hooks that I use to hang my assembled patterns. This is the system that works best for me, I've tried keeping them in binders but I just got to the point where I couldn't see what I had. And well this is the Wall 'O fabric. I'm working on getting my stash undercontrol. The only thing missing in this room I would say is a closet to hide the ugly, like the fabric up on the top self. Hope you enjoyed the tour! Until next time, xx

I used the triangle scraps from my low volume swoon quilt to make this sweet little wall hanging. It's made from the cream fabrics from various Bonnie & Camille fabric lines... my favorite. We recently became the new home for my husband's grandparent's dining room set. It's come together nicely. The buffet and table are from his grandparents and the clock is from my grandma. I also have my other grandma's sewing machine in this room, so it's quite the connection to our grandparents in here! I used this chicken wire board as decor and it "needed" a little wall hanging quilt. My idea is to use this board for holiday decor, but this quilt will be a nice neutral for in between.

Use Those Scraps You’ve Been Saving to Make a Magnificent Quilt! If you’re a quilter, you surely have fabric scraps. While it’s nice to use a few here and there, it’s even nicer to make an entire quilt from scraps. Not only will it make a big dent in your stockpile, but in the process, …

I'm finally "back in the saddle" again and able to start quilting. Boy does it feel good!!! My first priority was to get back on our boutis challenge and I'm excited to share some great progress this week! Since this fragile linen is so wiggly I wanted to make sure my straight lines stayed straight so I stitched thes
