Stockholm-based ceramicist Caroline Harrius (previously) embroiders vases with floral patterns that explore the relationships between gender and craft and decoration and purpose. Distorting perceptions, the delicate pieces appear as though Harrius wrapped stitched fibers around a glazed vessel, or in a parallel manner, sculpted fabric to mimic a curved form. Harrius punctures the shiny, semi-functional vases with holes and then pulls through threads to produce patterns and floral motifs that explore gender norms and hierarchies in craft history, specifically focusing on those typically associated with women. KIDS, MODERN VINTAGE LIVING AND SUNSHINE GALORE!
Hello! Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas break. Ours was good, though it's this in between bit I really love. The kids playing with their new toys, pottering about at home, de-cluttering and getting the house back to normal ready for the New Year. Our collected treasures this month have pretty much consisted of just plastic finds. All collected on our favourite Winter beach, which is so lovely and quiet now compared to the Summer months. The mixed circle of plastic was picked up over a couple of visits. This is what we come home with, bags of mainly rubbish. Mostly it's the same culprits - cotton bud sticks that have been flushed down the toilet (who new they came in so many colours) bottle top lids, tile spacers and lighters. But amongst it, a few little treasures too. Like some Lego lost at sea, plastic animals, army men or a vintage hair pin (above is all I've collected) - I'd still love to know where those come from! Wishing you all a very happy New Year. 2016 - It's gonna be a good one! xx

Brilliant turquoise and magenta flash over a background of variable shades of grey and black. This colorway can be highly variable, so feel free to give us a call for a current description of what we have, or if you have any questions about the color. This colorway is a Babette: every skein and every batch is a bit different, but Babs has a method of recreating these artistic colorways. The photograph is an example of representative skeins from this colorway; the skein you receive may differ somewhat. Caroline As of 2021, we have a new version of Caroline that we love just as much as the original! Caroline is lusciously soft, blending super fine merino wool with cashmere and nylon. The new version has a 3-ply construction, making it sleeker and softer in the hand with less halo for greater stitch definition. You’ll love Caroline in textured or lacy accessories like shawls, cowls, hand warmers, and hats (but Caroline is not suitable for socks). Size: 400 yd / 3.3 oz (365m / 95g) skeins Content: 70% 19.5 micron superwash Merino wool, 20% cashmere, 10% nylon. Gauge: Fingering weight. 7-8 stitches per inch knit on US 1-3, 6-8 stitches per inch crocheted on US B-E. Care Instructions: Hand wash, dry flat.
