I love to keep my card making simple by just using Stamps, Ink, & Paper - otherwise known as SIP stamping! Stamping with a SIP is a basic card making technique perfect for beginner card makers or those looking to make quick & easy cards. In this project, we're designing SIP cards with the Stampin' Up! stamp set Layers of Beauty. Then to step the cards up a bit I'm pulling in the Unbounded Love Bundle to die-cut my sentiments with different frames.

Now if you've been following my blog posts this week, you'll have seen the Layers of Beauty bundle on 3 previous cards. They all used the largest image of the set, along with some die cutting and even a little masking. Today is different! Using only the masks with inks and Blending Brushes, I created this: L.O.V.E.! Such realistic flowers! I feel like an artist...but all I did was carefully line up the masks (5 of them in all) and use Blending Brushes with inks to create this beautiful panel! Look at the detail and the depth of color! Gorgeous! I started with Lemon Lolly and the #1 mask, which colors the light part of the flowers. Then, with Mask #2, I added some Daffodil Delight ink. And for the smallest, darkest details, I used Crushed Curry. The leaves were done in Granny Apple Green with Garden Green details. I mounted the main panel on Garden Green cardstock, then onto a Thick Basic White base with triangles of Granny Apple Green and Daffodil Delight to pull out the colors. Feel like an artist! Grab the Layers of Beauty bundle on May 1st and and start your art journey! Product List Lemon Lolly Classic Stampin' Pad [161666] $9.00 Daffodil Delight Classic Stampin' Pad [147094] $9.00 Crushed Curry Classic Stampin' Pad [147087] $9.00 Granny Apple Green Stampin' Pad [147095] $9.00 Garden Green Classic Stampin' Pad [147089] $9.00 Garden Green 8-1/2" X 11" Cardstock [102584] $10.00 Daffodil Delight 8-1/2" X 11" Cardstock [119683] $10.00 Granny Apple Green 8-1/2" X 11" Cardstock [146990] $10.00 Basic White 8 1/2" X 11" Thick Cardstock [159229] $9.00 Blending Brushes [153611] $13.00 Blooming Pearls [162238] $8.00

Hello everyone! I have some exciting news to share... I will now be sharing projects created with the Spellbinders card kit of the month! If you have never seen the Spellbinders monthly card kit you really need to check them out. There are also card kit extras available, as well. The amount of product that you receive in each kit far exceeds the monthly subscription amount of $38.50. The kit for May is called Beach Day and it is full of fun beachy products like shell stickers and chipboard stickers, a pad of 6x6 papers with a beach theme, as well as a beach themed stamp set and die set. I had so much fun creating the three cards I'm sharing today and tried to use at least one thing from all the different items in the kit. UPDATE: The May kit of the month is now sold out! You can still get the kit as part of a value club package, but you cannot sign up to buy just the kit. First up is a card that I made using a die from the April card kit. The April kit included a die that creates a little envelope. I used some aqua cardstock from the May kit to die cut my envelope and then assembled it. I pulled out a piece of patterned paper from the 6x6 pad with a water/beach look to it. I die cut it with the largest Essentials Rectangle die and adhered it to one of the premade card bases. I then adhered my little envelope and filled it with alot of the shell stickers. I then added the three chipboard stickers to finish things off. This card is super dimensional and I'm thinking I may turn it into a decor piece! I'm going to add this to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge of anything goes. For the second card I used the layout from Freshly Made Sketches. I layered up a frame on some patterned paper from the kit with the fun beach umbrella, a beachy little handbag and a camera. I then added the sentiment and a few little star stickers. For the final card I used the layout from Mojo Monday. I die cut some aqua cardstock from the kit and then added the patterned paper per the sketch. I die cut gold metallic cardstock with a die from the kit. I actually cut two pieces and adhered them together to create the strip. You can also use that die to create a frame. The patterned papers were die cut and adhered per the sketch. I stamped the sentiment from the stamp set with a teal ink and then adhered all the ephemera pieces. I finished with the little gold stars. I just love the soft pretty colors that are found in this kit, as well as the fun beach theme! You can check out the other club kits by clicking on the Spellbinders link in my sidebar or by clicking here. Here is a graphic of what comes in the kit: Thanks for stopping by and have a lovely day!
Question from Yesterday: DonnaK asked where I buy Twinkling H2Os. I bought mine at Marco's Paper, a brick and mortar store in the Dayton area. But you can find them at the big craft stores (Michael's, Hobby Lobby, JoAnn's) and buy with a coupon! Now on to today's post, which hopefully Blogger will post in a timely fashion.... Today's Tip is one of those that, on the one hand, seems like a no-brainer, but, on the other hand, makes life so much easier! After getting sick of doing the same math over and over, I made a simple, handwritten index card, which I posted on my bulletin board right over my workspace, with a list of dimensions for cutting stamped panels to matte evenly on a standard 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" card. It lists the sizes for cutting panels in quarter-inch increments. (Those of you who live in countries where "standard" is different can easily adapt this idea for yourselves.) I typed it up for those of you using American measures. Hopefully, you can save it and print it for your own use. If I cut a 4 1/4" x 3" stamped, panel, for instance, all I have to do is move up a quarter inch to get the measurements for a 1/8" matte all the way around the stamped panel. For a thinner 1/16" matte (as on yesterday's card), it's easy enough to just add 1/8" to the dimensions of the stamped panel. I hope this makes sense. And here is a happy CAS card that utilized this little chart. Design Discussion: Please note how I rooted the flowers in the open space provided by the sentiment. I just love the way that looks!!!! Supplies stamps: Shady Tree Studio ink: Memento paper: PTI white, SU brilliant blue accessories: dimensionals. Personal News: My son Jack, who has high-functioning autism, was released from private occupational therapy Wednesday! After four years, he's finally functionally appropriate for fine motor and hand-eye coordination! YIPPYYYYY! He continues to receive OT through our school district, but this is a wonderful milestone for him to meet...and one less regular therapy session to cart him to! His developmental pediatrician saw Jack yesterday and is blown away by his progress. Jack truly has blossomed in the past six months. He's even one of the best readers in his regular 2nd grade class! Needless to say, we're on Cloud 9 around here right now, and I just had to share!!!
Need a guide for card sizes? Me too. Most of the cards I make are A2. But, I have a stash of envelopes that are for various card sizes. So, here's a chart that I created with the measurements for the most commonly used card sizes. A1 3 ½ × 4 ⅞ 3.5” × 4.875” A2 4 ¼ × 5 ½ 4.25” × 5.5” A6 4 ½ × 6 ¼ 4.5” × 6.25” A7 5” × 7” Biz 3 ½ × 2 3.5” × 2 Square 5 ½ × 5 ½ 5.5” × 5.5” ETA: I figured it would be nice to have measurements for the corresponding layers. Here you go: Card Size Card Measurements Layers Measurements A1 3 ½ × 4 ⅞ 3.5” × 4.875” 3 ¼ × 4 ⅝ 3.25” × 4.625” A2 4 ¼ × 5 ½ 4.25” × 5.5” 4 × 5 ¼ 4” × 5.25” A6 4 ½ × 6 ¼ 4.5” × 6.25” 4 ¼ × 6 4.25” × 6” A7 5” × 7” 4 ¾ × 6 ¾ 4.75” × 6.75” Biz 3 ½ × 2 3.5” × 2 3 ¼ × 1 ¾ 3.25” × 1.75” Square 5 ½ × 5 ½ 5.5” × 5.5” 5 ¼ × 5 ¼ 5.25” × 5.25”

Hi all, I hope you enjoy my blog today where I am showcasing the gorgeous NEW 2024 – 2026 In Color’s. I have created these cute cards using the Layering Leaves stamp set and Bough Punch…
I'm highlighting the Layers of Beauty bundle (dies and masks) this week, showcasing a set that will be making its debut on May 1st. As a Stampin' UP! demonstrator, I get to pre-order certain new products, and this is one of the items I chose. Yesterday I showed you a card that was very simple - just stamps, ink and paper. Today I'm stepping it up a bit; I again used stamps, ink and paper, but this time I added in the dies, the masks and an embossing folder, along with some bling: After stamping the main, large image in black, I cut it out with the coordinating Layers of Beauty dies. This was layered on a Thick Basic White card base, but I added a 1/2 sheet of Basic Black, embossed with one of the Basics embossing folders. And then...that rose: I feel like an artist! OMG! This is so pretty...AND so easy! I stamped the large image once again, and this time I used the masks to color in the rose image. (As you'll see later this week, you can color the complete, large image, but I chose to just do the one rose). I used Poppy Parade, Real Red and Cherry Cobbler inks and Blending Brushes. I then cut the rose with the single die (I DID trim a little more, as I had blurred a little color outside the lines), and then popped it up over the large rose in the initial black & white image. This "Spotlight" technique really highlights one element, and can totally change the feel of the card. Layers of Beauty is coming soon; be sure to add it to your Wish List! Product List Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad [132708] $6.50 Poppy Parade Classic Stampin' Pad [147050] $9.00 Real Red Classic Stampin' Pad [147084] $9.00 Cherry Cobbler Classic Stampin' Pad [147083] $9.00 Old Olive Classic Stampin' Pad [147090] $9.00 Mossy Meadow Classic Stampin' Pad [147111] $9.00 Basic White 8 1/2" X 11" Cardstock [159276] $10.50 Basic Black 8-1/2" X 11" Cardstock [121045] $10.00 Basic White 8 1/2" X 11" Thick Cardstock [159229] $9.00 Basics 3 D Embossing Folders [161598] $30.00 Blending Brushes [153611] $13.00 Small Blending Brushes [160518] $12.00 Rhinestone Basic Jewels [144220] $6.00

I'm sorry I haven't been blogging lately I'm too busy I can't even find time to eat! Doing a degree and working with primary children is so difficult. If you've emailed me and I haven't replied plse forgive me, I'll try to do so soon. Here is something we recently did in my class.Last week I made this earth model. I first saw this presentation done when I was living in Egypt and attended a science session at a Montessori centre run by an 80 year old American woman who trained many many years ago. I wanted to make it perfectly, so I matched the layers inside to the cards I downloaded from Cultivating Dhrama, I then covered the coloured ball in a layer of blue. I cut out continents and stuck them on [except for Antarctica which one child pointed out]. The children were so excited as I walked around the classroom carrying 'THE WORLD' in my hands. Then to their amazement I cut it! Yes I cut my work of art :( and we talked about the different layers inside the earth and how they were formed. This was a follow up lesson to the first great lesson. The layers of the Earth shown inside the model. The children loved it and so did I. This is how I have the activity set up on a tray. Not perfect I know but it was what I could find in a rush. Little-N and his friend working with the earth model, globe and layers of the earth cards. Some of the children went on to make project books about the earth. Another child drew an amazing picture using pastels. I noticed that Monressori en el hogar recently did a similar activity, it's always lovely to see what other bloggers do.

Hi friends! It's Monday and time for a brand new Mojo Monday sketch! I hope you can find a little time in the next couple weeks to play along with me! As always, we're playing just for fun. I'm an equal opportunity stamper, so feel free to use any papercrafting products your heart desires and enter as many creations as you like. Use the sketch as inspiration for your creation, then come link it up below so I can come take a look! The linky for this challenge will close on April 4, 2021. I have included dimensions on the graphic later in this post, but feel free to change them up to suit your needs, and never worry about substituting a shape or layer. Today's card is another entry in the Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Hop. I just received a Reverse Confetti order with this sweet little dino set, and decided he needed to be drinking coffee. So I pulled out the Coffee & You set to go along with it, and got to work stamping, coloring, and cutting. My colors were chosen by this Dragon Tails paper I picked up at Tuesday Morning a while back. The stars are cut with the Seeing Stars Confetti Cuts. Alrighty, now it's your turn! I hope you've been inspired to create something with this sketch. Thanks so much for stopping by. Please join me for Mojo Monday!
