Okay, so this is my first ever tutorial, so please be gentle! lol CRISS-CROSS CARD BOX – by Vicki Wizniuk (http://wizardshangout.blogspot.com) Okay, by now you’ve probably seen a criss-cross card, if not made one yourself. Well this box is using the basic concept of the criss-cross card, only made into a box to hold 5 ½” x 4 ¼” cards and envelopes. Supplies list: 2 pieces cardstock 7” x 5 ¾” (front pieces) 1 piece cardstock 7” x 6 ¾” (back piece) 1 piece cardstock 1 ¼” x 12” (center band) Glue Scor-Tape Scissors Scor-Pal Bone folder Instructions: 1. Starting with the 7” x 6 ¾” cardstock piece, create the back of your box by scoring it at 1” from both sides along the 6 ¾” side, and at 1” from the bottom along the 7” side. Use your bone folder to give the score lines a nice crisp fold. 2. Using your scissors, cut the solid lines to create folding tabs. The picture below shows how I trimmed the tabs at a slight angle to help with folding. Set aside. 3. Now you are going to make the front pieces, as shown below. Take one of your 7” x 5 ¾” pieces and score it 1” in from the left side along the 5 ¾” side. Then give it a ¼ turn to the right and score at 1” along the 7” side. Using your paper trimmer, place the blade at the upper corner beside the side score line, and line up the cutting line on an angle to the bottom corner beside the bottom score line. Cut that angle off, as shown in the photo below this one. 4. Repeat with the other piece of 7” x 5 ¾” cardstock, changing your score lines to the outer edges and cutting your angle opposite to the first one. For this piece, you will also need to use your scissors to cut off the larger bottom tab as shown in diagram. Cut the little bottom tabs in the same manner as you did for the back piece to help with folding. Set aside. ***The picture below shows what both pieces will look like after they have been scored and cut. 5. Starting with the back piece, glue the little tabs on the bottom to the inside of the larger bottom tab. Set aside. 6. Take the 2 front pieces, and starting with the left side, glue the little tab on the bottom to the inside of the larger bottom tab. Then take the right side and put Scor-Tape onto the places as shown in the photo below, and put glue onto the little bottom tab. Remove the protective strips on the Scor-Tape, adhering the angled piece to the inside of the left piece, and at the same time carefully tuck in and adhere the little tab on the bottom. It should now look like the photo below. 7. The next step is to glue the front piece to the back piece, creating a box by tucking the back into the front. Use your bone folder to make sure your joins are secure. 8. For the decorative band at the center of the box, you can now take the 1 ¼” x 12” strip of cardstock and starting from the back side, wrap it all the way around to the back, overlapping the ends by approximately ½”. Holding it in place, slightly pinch the band at the corners and then take it off and use your bone folder to get a good fold for each corner. You can then glue the band on all the way around. *** Finished box size: 6” x 4 ¾” x 1”

EDITED 4th November 2012 I have modified this template slightly new post is HERE EDITED 5th March 2014 I've made some using a faux leather technique - much stronger new post is HERE I made these little holders from card to hold a few emery boards. They measure approximately 5" x 2" so are ideal to keep in your handbag or on your work desk for when you need to do a quick repair to your finger nail. I used a textured white core cardstock, but any good quality card would do. I've just realised that I've missed a couple of measurements off the template - the width is 2" (but it extends to 3" for the bottom part as shown). The two side flaps at the bottom measure 1/2" wide each (so the flaps are three and half inch long by a half inch wide). Sorry about that, but please don't hesitate to ask me if anything is still unclear. To make the front a little more interesting, I textured it with my Big Shot die cutting machine using a Cuttlebug embossing folder. I did a bit of rubber stamping inside and out. Using an emery board (they're not only for nails!) I rubbed over the textured part to give a distressed look. I sewed on two co-ordinating buttons - best to do this now before sticking the holder together! Leave a tail of cotton on the top flap as this will be wound around the bottom button to become the fastener. Using a glue stick, apply glue to the front of the two small flaps. Stick the flaps to the underneath section and hold in place for a few minutes with some clothes pegs to ensure good adhesion. Once firmly stuck down, insert a few emery boards into the pocket and you're good to go! They are quick and easy to make and are nice little gifts to give to your family and friends - they would also make good Christmas stocking fillers. Thanks for looking and if you do make any yourself, I'd love to see them!

A Box to Hold Cards with Chic n Scratch, Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Angie Juda My project for you today is a Box to hold Cards. I have six cards and six envelopes in my box and it has room for
Marisa sent me a picture of a stamped book card from Nancy stamps at: http://nancykstamps.blogspot.com/2008_10_12_archive.html and asked if I had a template for it and I did not but it looked pretty straight forward so I decide to come up with a template for it and had it for my swap at our last stamp and chat. The cover shows Home for Christmas stamped in black ink pad on 4x4 white CS and colored with SU watercolor crayons in old olive, artichoke for the rocks, garden green, apricot for the lamp, cocoa and chocolate chip then red marker for all the red spots. A little 2 way glue pen and then dazzling diamond glitter. A 1 1/4x 4 inch strip of DD paper from I wish scrapping kit- "LOVE this PAPER!" and wide red grosgrain ribbon over quarter sheet of certainly celery CS. This is what it looks like from the side. It looks like a book and will hold at least 4- 8 A2 cards and envelopes. It would make a lovely gift for someone. Use any color you like for base- here is real red cardstock 8 1/2 by 11. turn it longways across and using scor-pal place left margin at 1/4 inch and score at 5 and 6 1/2. so each "page" is 4 3/4in and middle is 1 1/2 in in width. Turn short way across and score at 6 and 7 1/2 inch. Trim away the the 2 1/2 in below left side page and the center. The section below the right side will form the bottom of the box and part of the front to which you will tape the front panel. Place sticky tape along the front of the piece- on the underside of where the finger is in the picture. Take another 8 1/2 x 3inch piece of red CS. Using Scor-pal, place left margin at 1/8" from the edge and score at 1/2" and 2". Flip it over and do the same on the other side. Turn it long ways and score 1/2 inch from the edge. Cut away the bottom as shown along the 1/2 inch scored margin and place tape as shown on next picture. place the front flap piece onto the big piece as shown. Fold over the sides and tape down to make the box insert. finished box- nice and neat. Finished box with some coordinating cards and envelopes. Thanks for looking! Lynda

I have always wanted to make one of these file box style card organizers but thought the curves would be too fussy and difficult. But when I saw one made by Julie Scaparra I had to give it a try! She provided templates but we couldn't get them to print to size so with my friend Marilyn's help and my techie husband we got it done! Here's my version: Each box fits quite a few A2 or 4 1/4" X...

Woohooo! I've finally finished it! :-) You've asked me for a tutorial for the Note Card Holders I have made, and {{finally}} here it is! :-) I've taken step by step photos for this quick and easy project as well as measurements and instructions! Enjoy! :-) To start, you will need a piece of cardstock cut to 5" x 11" for the card holder base. For the pockets, cut two pieces of cardstock measuring 3 1/4" x 6 1/4" (for the thicker card pocket) and 2 3/4" x 5 1/4" (for the thinner envelope pocket). Score the largest piece of cardstock at 5" and 6". Score the larger pocket piece at 1/2" and 1" on three sides as shown above. Score the smaller pocket piece at 1/4" and 1/2" on three sides as shown above. Using a bone folder, crease each scored line on all three pieces of cardstock. This...

Well here we are Day 6 already. I love this ornament and have been showing it at all my demos for the last 2 months. Once you have made one you will be hooked as they are so easy to put together. I thiink these would be georgous as tags on your presents with the persons name on the front so you are giving a personalised ornament as well as your gift. Right here we go... All measurements are in inches Cut 5 pieces of card to 3" x 3" On both the back and the front of these 5 pieces stamp your image. I have used the poinsettia from Papermania "At Christmas Time" stamp set. Any stamp with good fine detail will work really well. Sponge each piece on the back and front .(See A6 Calender Tutorial for sponging tips.) Ink around the edges by running your pieces along your ink pads. This will give a nice definition to the edges. Now for the folds. Work on one square at a time. All the folds are the same for each square. Fold the square from edge to edge. Open up and fold edge to edge in the opposite direction you will end up with a cross on the square. Place your piece of card on the table and flip it over (turn over and work on the other side) you are now to fold from corner to corner. This fold is very important for making the square pop into position. Open up your fold and put your finger underneath at the center and push to pop it upwards. Your square should now look like this. Push in the right and left squares with the creases in them together (pointing downwards. Push them towards each other until a full square forms. Your square should now look like this. Do this to all five squares. Now see the way they open up. You are to join all of these togeather with the open section all facing the same way when joining them. (see photos). Cut two pieces of card 1½” x 1½”. These are your covers for the ornament. Decorate these covers. I stamped mine and sponged them to match the inside panels. Close up your ornament and place some double sided tape from the back corner to the open corner, remove backing tape and lay a long piece of ribbon over this. Do this on both sides of the ornament. Place your decorated cover over the ribbon. Make sure you think about what way the ornament will hang when unopened as you don't want the words going off at a dodgy angle!!! Now you are ready to attach the bead. We have a fantastic beading shop in Bray town called BDI and they have an amazing variety of beads and findings and of course the most important thing.... a fantastic Coffee Shop :). This silver bead is my absolute favorite for this ornament it just adds a touch of class to it. I make my ribbon a lot longer than I need it so I can cut it to a sharp point to get it through the width of the bead. Push the bead all the way down the ribbon to the top of the ornament. Tie a knot at the top of the ribbon and cut it neatly to tidy it up. If you find your ribbon is fraying at the top you can VERY CAREFULLY run a flame along it and it will seal the ribbon to stop it fraying. You need to be quick doing this as you don't want to bun the ribbon or yourself. Another solution is to use clear nail polish but to be honest a lot of times I find this soaks down slightly into the ribbon and ruins the look of the project. Your Ornament is done. Here it is closed. To open it, slide the bead up the ribbon to the knot at the top. Turn the ornament inside out (bring both covers around to meet one another). Slide the bead back down. Your ornament is now open for display. Below are a couple of other options. You can make this ornament with any shape that will fold exactly edge to edge in all directions for example circles and you can make it any size you want so long as it is the exact same size for all five pieces of card. This shape is cut from the Xcut Four Petal Nesting Dies. You can use any colors. The one below is inked in black using an "Ink it Up! dye based ink. You can use any stamp you want I like to use fine detail stamps. The stamp used below is the Enchanted Christmas Holly Fairy from Docrafts. I hope you all enjoy making this cute little thing. Happy Crafting everyone.

I created this project for my display at the April Minneapolis On Stage event. I found a similar box online and knew it would make a fabulous project! Right now the Daisy Punch is on back-order and unavailable for purchase. So if you're wanting the bundle you may have to wait a week...
