I just can't get enough of the Tropical Chic stamp set... maybe it is because I am wishing Spring weather would be here to stay instead of teasing me with a nice day, then the next cold, wet and and windy. Oh well, with the thought of warmer days to come I created this card for the Facebook Stampin' Up! Colour Challenge Melon Mambo and Granny Apple Green drew me to Tropical Chic (any excuse really!), this is what I was inspired to create with these colours: I added texture to the background using the Subtle Embossing folder, and Gold embossed the sentiment, adding a thin highlight of Melon Mambo above the banner to make it pop. Thanks for visiting today, I hope you enjoyed viewing my project. Stay tuned for more inspiration and tips this month. My Project I cant believe I haven't used this before. I absolutely LOVE this suite and I know that you will too! Here is a beautiful image from the catalogue. And, here is the project I made (and I have to admit that I LOVE it!) This project features two brand new colours; Shaded Spruce Granny Apple Green Aren't they AWESOME? To be honest, Shaded Spruce was a colour that I wasnt immediately drawn to but paired with GAG (awkward acronym) it is beautiful! I couldn't decide on which piece of DSP I was going to use because they are all so beautiful. But, I decided on using this one because it makes me think about a beautiful sunny room and I can imagine the one I selected is the fabric wallpaper used (maybe Im thinking of an episode of Selling Houses Australia that Bruno made me watch). Do you want to buy some of the BEAUTIFUL products from this suite? Here are the shopping links below; Note: Australian Residents Only Tropical Chic Clear-Mount Bundle $76.50 Shaded Spruce A4 Cardstock $14.75 Granny Apple Green A4 Cardstock $14.75 Tropical Escape 6" X 6" (15.2 X 15.2 Cm) Designer Series Paper $19.25 Shaded Spruce Classic Stampin' Pad $13.00 Granny Apple Green Stampin' Pad $13.00 I stamped the two images and cut them out using the coordinating framelits. I almost cut out a few extra shapes but i had a 'less is more' moment making this card. I mounted these shapes onto a piece of Whisper White with dimensionals, mounted this on a piece of Shaded Spruce using tombow and then mounted this onto a the DSP with dimensionals. This was all stuck down to a Thick Whisper White card base. For the sentiment, I white embossed onto a piece of Shaded Spruce which was the full width of the card and mounted this onto the card using dimensionals. Thanks so much for stopping by! Posted: 2018-10-11 Hey Everyone..... Hope you are doing FABULOUS! Today I have a card that I made using the Tropical Chic Bundle. Now i know I have seen a ton of samples of this used with the green and pink shades but I came across one where they used the purples that we have. Oh My it was just so pretty so I had to make one for myself. I'm sorry I don't remember who's card it was but I came across it on Pinterest. Anyway....I set out to make this purple card. Let me explain what I did. I took a piece of Gorgeous Grape cardstock and using the square leaf thinlit I cut it out on the big shot and trimmed it close ...

I really wanted to make a card using a monochromatic colour scheme and pulled out the Tropical Chic stamp set to make this thank you card.
Welcome to the Summer Themed Blog Hop with Stampin' Friends! This month we will showcase projects with a summery theme, which could mean different things to different people. You will see links for the rest of the hoppers below my post. When I think of summer, I think of tropical foliage, flowers and lots of green. For my project, I have used a couple of new stamp & die bundles from Stampin' Up! called Tropical Chic and Stitched All Around. I must admit, I am really "stamp challenged" by two things: using up the lovely Designer Series Paper that I had to have and 3-D projects. Several days ago, I saw a post by a wonderfully talented stamper named Kerstin Kreis. She had made an explosion type card (mini-album?) that I fell in love with. Click HERE to see her project. I was instantly inspired to try to create one of these little card/mini-albums myself. I CASED her inside quite a bit, but changed up the front. I used the new Granny Apple Green Woven Ribbon for the tie that closes the project, which measures 5in x 5in. The photo below shows how it looks when first opened. And with the top and bottom flaps opened: The back cover: Card detail: Doesn't that Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon make you swoon? I know I am going to be using it on all kinds of projects. And what about the black die cut pieces I have used to layer under the sentiments on both projects? Those are from the Stitch All Around Bundle and I know I'm going to get a ton of use out of those. The interesting edges add such a nice touch. If you live in the Springfield, MO area and would like to take an in person class to make the mini-album, click HERE for more information. Class size is limited! Supply list below. If you are reading this in an email, you will need to click on over to the actual post to see the list. Do you have a Stampin' Up! demonstrator?
